Research Acknowledgment Statement

The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Office of Isotope R&D and Production (IRP) requires that researchers whose work is funded by DOE IRP OR who receive research pricing for an isotope, include DOE IRP in the research acknowledgment statement of their published work.Research Acknowledgement Statement

The DOE Office of Isotope R&D and Production provides isotopes to researchers at a reduced price to facilitate the research effort.

The following language is recommended depending on the funding source:

If DOE IRP is funding the work, use:

  • “This material is based upon work supported by the U.S. Department of Energy, Office of Science, Office of Isotope R&D and Production, under contract [or grant award] number [enter number XXXXXX].”

If you received research pricing for an isotope, but DOE IRP is not funding the work, use:

  • “The isotope(s) used in this research was supplied by the U.S. Department of Energy, Office of Science, Office of Isotope R&D and Production.”

As a reminder, a signed Isotope Research and Development Declaration is a certification that the researcher agrees to acknowledge the U.S. DOE Office of Isotope R&D and Production as the provider of the isotope(s) used in the research in any and all subsequent publications and presentations.
