  • Ashlee Washington has been named one of Bisnow’s Pacific Northwest Power Women.   Ashlee leads our Healthcare Studio. She has spent 15 years designing community health centers, #behavioralhealth and wellness facilities, and the places where people go when they need care. Her work starts with listening. She pays attention to what clients and the communities they serve actually need, and the design follows from there.   On December 3 in Seattle, Bisnow will honor Ashlee at its first Power Women celebration, which recognizes the women driving influence, performance and innovation across the region’s commercial real estate market.    Congratulations, Ashlee—this is well deserved.

Two 47-story towers. 1,048 homes. A 747 fuselage woven into the amenity experience. Aero 1200 is one of the most ambitious residential developments in the Pacific Northwest — and it’s delivering Spring 2027. As Owner’s Representative for OPTrust alongside JTM Construction, Cobalt is proud to be part of bringing this one across the finish line. The scale of what’s happening on this site in Seattle’s Denny Triangle has to be seen to be understood. Arriving Spring 2027. ✈️ #Aero1200 #Seattle #1200Stewart #BuiltForGood #Cobalt #CobaltAdvisory #OwnerRepresentative #OPTrust #PNW #ConstructionProgress

  • Ankrom Moisan’s Seattle office is moving!   We’re excited to share that at the end of the year, our Seattle studio will be relocating to a new home in the heart of downtown. While we’ve loved our current home, we're ready for what's next—a fresh space deigned around the way we work now. So beginning in January 2027, you’ll find us on the corner of 2nd and Pine.  More to come as we get closer to opening. For now, we just wanted to share where AM Seattle is headed.

I'm a true Portland native, and I refuse to leave or give up on my city. Last Friday the Ankrom Moisan team joined the We Believe in Portland cleanup around the inner east side. I'm still sore from picking things up, but it was worth it. It was great to get out in the sunshine and getting to know co-workers in other studios I don't always get a chance to talk with. Cleaning up a neighborhood together does that. Thank you to AdoptOneBlock for organizing, and to everyone on our team who came out. We believe in Portland! • Sneak peak of an in-process project from our Office, Retail & Community Studio. Amenity spaces for a multi-tenant office building in Seattle, WA.   While you can't design connection, you can design the conditions for it. Warm finishes, natural light wood tones and #biophilic elements create an inviting and comfortable atmosphere that cultivates collaboration and supports alternative ways of working.   This effort has been led by our Office, Retail & Community Studio principals Bethanne Mikkelsen & Michael Stueve AIA.   #WorkplaceDesign #TenantExperience

  • Where 54 aging public-housing units once stood, 275 new #affordable and supportive homes have opened. And that's just phase one of a plan for more than 500 homes. Hillside Park is reshaping a 14-acre site in Milwaukie, OR. Its first communities opened this spring with homes for households earning 30%-60% of area median income, including 21 apartments reserved for permanent supportive housing with on-site services. It's a redevelopment built on partnership: a public-private effort led by Related Northwest and the Housing Authority of Clackamas County, with the City of Milwaukie, Clackamas County, Metro, Oregon Housing and Community Services, and HUD. Transforming aging public housing into a resilient, walkable, amenity-rich neighborhood takes patience and a lot of hands. Ankrom Moisan is proud to be part of the development team carrying this vision forward.

  • David Kelley, AIA Kelley and Don Sowieja co-authored a piece in Urban Land Institute Magazine on how design decisions, not just financing terms, are what make #multifamily deals pencil in today's tight capital environment. Their article walks through three strategies that are gaining traction industry-wide: → tuck-under parking → non-podium wood-to-the-ground construction → standardized unit layouts With examples from a few of Ankrom Moisan's recent projects, Reed's Crossing in Oregon and Modera Shoreline in Seattle.

Behavioral health environments used to be considered in a vacuum, aesthetically and functionally. Separate typology, separate rules, separate look. That separation is dissolving. Trauma-informed design, biophilic elements, and clear sightlines aren't strategies that only work in behavioral health and recovery spaces. They're a common language that reads across every health space we design, from an infusion bay to an ED to a primary care clinic. Same principles, different intensity. Mental health is universal, not a specialty. Our buildings are catching up to what clinicians have known for a long time. A short version of that thought is featured in Interior Design Magazine's July/August Healthcare Giants issue. Ankrom Moisan also moved up to #25 on the Healthcare Giants list this year, from #31. I'll admit seeing my name on the page is surreal. I've been reading this magazine for years. Grateful to our healthcare team for the work behind the ranking. #HealthcareDesign #BehavioralHealth #InteriorDesign
