Augmenting the physical workforce with wearable AI assistants that help and enable real world jobs.

About us

Augmodo brings real-time intelligence to the physical workforce — enabling people in the real world through AI that works alongside them. We build the spatial perception layer for every industry where work happens off a screen. By wearing a passive, privacy-first Smartbadge during a standard shift, teams automatically build a real-time 3D map of their environment, instantly flagging out-of-stocks, misplaced items, and high-priority tasks. Why Top Enterprises Deploy Augmodo: • Real-Time Visibility: Eliminates inventory drift and slashes gap rates by 30%+. • Frictionless Rollout: Deploys in days with zero new tasks or workflow changes. • Built on Trust: On-device privacy ensures the system sees the work, never the individual. Processing hundreds of terabytes of first-person spatial data daily, Augmodo is mapping over 186 million square feet per month and on track to cross 1 billion square feet per month this year. We’re building category-defining infrastructure for the physical world. Join our team or request a demo: augmodo.com

  • Live from Groceryshop 👋 Two years of hardware evolution, on display. We’re at the Store of Tomorrow demoing SpatialView, AR glasses, and our latest Smartbadges, Owl Mini and Owl Pro, alongside every generation of hardware that got us here. Come see Physical AI in action and meet the Augmodo team. 📍 Store of Tomorrow | Groceryshop

  • Hardware usually moves in years. We move in months. Today, we’re introducing the 6th generation of our Smartbadge™ in just two years: Owl Mini and Owl Pro. We built these because our customers' feedback went two directions: one group wanted a device as light and invisible as possible, while the other wanted a powerful all-in-one hub. We built both to advance Augmodo's mission of enhancing the physical workforce. Owl Mini (Available Q1 2027) • Ultra-lightweight: Just 120g – barely bigger than an Airpod Pro case. • Spatial Vision: Patent-pending triple-camera system. • Safety First: Dedicated, associate-activated panic button + full-shift battery. Owl Pro (Available Q2 2027) • E-Ink Display: Crystal-clear screen for live workflows, status updates, and digital ID. • 15-Hour Battery: Unmatched endurance built for full-shift with power to spare. • Built-In Walkie-Talkie: Secure, associate-controlled push-to-talk across the whole floor. Both devices feed directly into SpatialView, giving managers real-time store conditions on their laptops instead of waiting on week-old reports. Built to blend into the shift, not add to it. 🔗 Read more about the Owl Evolution in the first comment. #PhysicalAI #Augmodo #OwlPro #OwlMini

  • Two years of experience on day one, just from a different name badge. That's how our Founder and CEO Ross Finman describes the goal for the Smartbadge™ — an AI assistant for the physical workforce. Store associates, warehouse pickers, delivery teams, maintenance crews. The scope continues to widen. Ross on The Study from TQ Ventures. Episode in the comments.

  • We're hiring four people to help map the physical world: ➞ Head of Engineering ➞ Computer Vision Engineer ➞ Software Engineer, CV Tools ➞ Technical Program Manager We bring real-time information to 80% of the workforce that doesn't work behind a screen. The shelves, racks, plant lines, and delivery routes that no dashboard has ever really seen. We are live with major retailers and CPG brands across several countries, mapping over a billion square feet a year. • Our founder, Ross Finman, couldn't find baby formula that every inventory system said was in stock. The shelf said otherwise. That gap between what the screen says and what's physically true exists everywhere work happens off a screen. A shelf, a warehouse rack, a truck, a plant line. Augmodo closes it with a passive, wearable Smartbadge. No scanning, no new task, no change to how anyone works. As people move, it builds a live 3D map of what's missing and what needs attention now. Physical AI for the physical workforce. The future of work is augmented. Full conversation with Schuster Tanger on TQ Ventures' The Study. Episode in the comments. #FounderStory #Augmodo #PhysicalAI

"Deep tech hardware in retail" was a contrarian viewpoint in 2023. We went from a consumer pain point, to a bad first idea, to the badge that serves the 80% of the workforce that isn't working behind a screen. Sat down with Schuster Tanger with TQ Ventures on how that happened:

During the 2022 baby formula shortage, Ross Finman discovered a huge problem. As a new father, he drove nearly 100 miles to stores that said they had formula in stock but didn’t. Ross had spent years working on computer vision and mapping technology at Niantic Spatial, Inc. Suddenly, a deeply personal problem looked like a technical one: How do you understand what’s actually happening inside a store? Is a product on the shelf? Is it in the right location? Is it at the right price? That insight eventually became Augmodo. In the latest episode of The Study, Ross shares how he went from growing up on a 1,200-acre llama farm to mapping the physical world, what true product-market fit actually feels like, the painful path from AR glasses to a wearable camera workers can simply wear like a name badge, and why the opportunity for an AI assistant for the physical workforce extends far beyond retail.
