“With Us, All Thumbs Are Green”

About us

At Costa Farms, it’s in our DNA to grow, and we’re passionate about plants! So much so that we grow more than 1,500 varieties on 5,200 acres. A 60-year-old family-run company, we started on just 30 acres when our founder, Jose Costa Sr., grew tomatoes and calamondin citrus. We started innovating and got into tropicals and houseplants. It didn’t take long before we were introducing rare varieties. We’re still at it today: Our Plant Hunter travels the world to find beautiful, easy-care plants for in and around your home. Today, Costa Farms is one of the largest horticultural growers in the world. Our passion extends to outdoor garden plants, as well. We’re excited to grow a variety of gorgeous flowering plants for tropical landscapes — or for container gardens on decks and patios in areas outside of Florida. We’ve been growing annual flowers for more than 20 years in Miami and North Carolina. In 2012 an expansion into South Carolina allowed us to begin offering perennial flowers to retailers in the Southeast.

  • Supporting our people means supporting their health, too. 💗 Each year, we offer free cancer screenings and onsite mammograms to our employees, making access to preventive care a little easier for our team. Throughout Breast Cancer Awareness Month, we’re proud to come together to raise awareness and support early detection, education, and hope. Every Thursday in October, our teams wear pink in honor of those who fought, those who continue to fight, and those whose memory continues to inspire us. 🎀 Here’s to taking care of ourselves, looking out for one another, and making health a priority. #BreastCancerAwarenessMonth #EmployeeWellbeing #CostaFarms

  • What happens when you put innovative suppliers, industry-leading partners, and Costa Farms decision-makers in one room? Ideas get challenged. Solutions get tested. New opportunities emerge. At Costa Farms we hosted our first Display Summit, an innovation event that gave supplier partners the stage to pitch breakthrough products and solutions directly to senior leaders across our organization. The result was an engaging exchange of ideas that accelerated learning, sparked new opportunities, and helped us stay on the leading edge of innovation within our industry. At Costa Farms, we believe continuous improvement starts with curiosity, collaboration, and a willingness to explore what's next. That's why we actively seek out new ideas and strategic partnerships that help us operate smarter, move faster, and deliver greater value across our business.✨ A huge thank you to all the suppliers and team members who helped make the event a success. The best innovations are often born through partnership. #Innovation #Leadership #CostaFarms

  • Their story began in Cuba. Their legacy was built through courage, sacrifice, and resilience. This Hispanic Heritage Month, Joche Jr., President of Costa Farms, reflects on the lessons passed down through four generations of his Cuban family. From building a life in a new country and learning a new language to rebuilding after Hurricane Andrew took it all away, each generation taught lessons in perseverance, hard work, and optimism. Their story is a reminder that Hispanic heritage is not only about where we come from. It's about the resilience to overcome challenges, the courage to embrace change, and the vision to create opportunities for future generations. Those values continue to shape our company and the people who help it grow every day.✨

  • Building a better workplace starts with a simple idea: learn from one another.✨ Earlier this year, we kicked off the Workplace Safety & Wellbeing Training Series with a Heat Safety session. Most recently, South Florida growers came together for an HR Best Practices training focused on strengthening workplace culture, supporting employees, and proactively managing compliance and employee-relations challenges. This four-part series, sponsored by Costa Farms and Florida Farm Bureau Federation was created to help agricultural employers collaborate and share best practices on workplace safety and HR. Topics included manager accountability, documentation, workplace investigations, employee handbooks, respectful workplace practices, and creating a culture where employees feel comfortable speaking up. As an added benefit, participants also received OSHA 10-Hour Certification free of charge. When growers share knowledge and invest in their people, our entire industry grows stronger. #WorkplaceSafety #EmployeeWellbeing #HumanResources #OSHA
