We are honored to share a truly transformational moment for Ijams Nature Center and South Knoxville. The Presbytery of East Tennessee has gifted New Prospect Presbyterian Church and 15.7 acres of land to Ijams. This is an extraordinary act of generosity that will serve our community for generations to come. This gift allows Ijams to: - Preserve 10.7 acres of beautiful, forested land in South Knoxville - Expand the Ijams Nature Preschool into a new, permanent home - Create a Center for Early Nature Learning to support educators across the region. - Grow partnerships and increase access to nature-based education for all children This is more than land. It’s a shared vision for the future. A future where children learn outside, explore freely, and build lifelong connections to the natural world. Ijams is deeply grateful to the Presbytery of East Tennessee for their trust, partnership, and commitment to stewardship, education, and community. This is how legacies live on.
