More adults in the US are regularly providing unpaid eldercare, especially women. 🔹 Federal Reserve data show that the share of the US adult population providing unpaid eldercare rose to 17.8% in 2025 from 16.2% in 2023. That translates to 47.1 million adults from 41.8 million. 🔹 There were 26.7 million workers providing unpaid eldercare in 2025, or 16.8% of the total workforce. Of these workers, 19.6 million provided only eldercare while 7.1 million were in the sandwich generation. Around one-half of sandwich workers were Millennials; one-third were Gen X. 🔹 Women drove the increase in unpaid elder caregiving from 2023 to 2025; their share rose to 19.3% from 16.7% while men’s share changed little. 🔹 More than four million additional women provided only eldercare in 2025 compared to 2023. Over that same period, there was a more modest rise in men providing only eldercare while the sandwich generation was roughly flat. More adults, including those with paid work, are providing unpaid eldercare. Women accounted for most of the increase over the past two years. In the years ahead, the number of unpaid eldercare providers is set to grow further and potentially faster than those in the sandwich generation. Many employers do not know what caregiving responsibilities their employees have. That black box is a real and growing risk to business performance.

Revisions changed the scorecard, not the economy on the ground. They found more income, saving, equipment spending and AI investment, lifting GDP growth and revealing a stronger capital-spending cycle. They also shaved a bit from measured inflation by changing the methodology. What they did not change was the squeeze consumers feel, the persistence of services inflation or the Fed’s fight to cool demand.

A year ago, many organizations were still piloting AI. Today, they're building the infrastructure to scale it. The latest KPMG AI Pulse Survey finds confidence in AI governance is rising, workforce adoption is accelerating, and organizations are gaining a clearer view of where AI is delivering value. Key findings include: -Projected AI investment in the next 12 months has risen 33% year over year, from $130M last year to $173M in Q3 2026. -Significant employee adoption from to 44% in Q3 2026, compared to 10% last year. -49% of leaders have identified high-risk use cases where autonomous agent decision-making is not allowed, increasing from 28% last year. As scaling accelerates, organizations are pairing innovation with governance, training, and oversight to help operationalize AI's value. Learn more ➡️ https://lnkd.in/etcU4SdW

The idea of stewardship is fundamental to KPMG’s partnership. We inherited a firm that generations before us worked hard to build, and we have a responsibility to strengthen it for those who come next. Our 2026 retiring partners have done exactly that. They’ve invested in our people, strengthened our culture and helped build the KPMG we know today. I’ve had the privilege of working alongside many of them over the years, and I have no doubt that their impact will remain long into the future through the people they’ve mentored, the clients they’ve served with excellence and the example they’ve set. And while retirement may mark the end of one chapter, it doesn’t end the relationships and friendships built over a career. “Once KPMG, Always KPMG” is a commitment I believe in deeply. Our retiring partners will always be part of this community. Congratulations to all of our retiring partners. Thank you for what you’ve given to our clients, our people and our firm, and for leaving KPMG stronger for the generations that follow.

𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗦𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝗠𝗼𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗖𝗼𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗲 𝗥𝗲𝗮𝗱 ☕ What happens when you combine the scale of a global professional services firm with the speed and mindset of a startup? As AI reshapes industries and competition intensifies, KPMG is building a new Client Technology & Innovation (CT&I) group designed to operate with startup-like speed. In a recent Business Insider story, Polly Thompson takes a closer look at the firm's vision for CT&I and what it signals about the future of professional services. "It will look like a Silicon Valley incubator within the walls of KPMG," said KPMG US Vice Chair of Client Technology & Innovation Todd Lohr. The story explores why KPMG is making this investment now and how the firm is adapting to a market being reshaped by AI, changing client expectations, and new sources of competition.
