We’re proud to be working to address the climate crisis together - helping Microsoft meet their industry-leading carbon removal goals while improving crop yields for American farmers.

Lithos Carbon has successfully issued 5,160 registry-certified tons of carbon dioxide removal — the largest enhanced rock weathering (ERW) issuance to date, roughly 7 times larger than any prior issuance in the category. These credits were generated in partnership with farmers across North Carolina, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, Maryland, and Michigan, using domestically sourced, nutrient-rich rock dust applied directly to working farmland. This milestone demonstrates that ERW can scale while maintaining rigorous scientific standards — and deliver tangible benefits in the field. Participating growers saw improvements to soil pH management and nutrient availability, reduced input costs versus traditional soil amendments, all while contributing to environmental health. The delivery has also created dozens of American jobs across quarrying, hauling, field application, and scientific monitoring, with plans to expand rapidly as demand for permanent carbon removal grows. Every ton is tracked from application through multi-thousand-year storage using robust measurement and monitoring protocols, ensuring removals are real, measurable, additional, and durable — turning proven science into impact at scale. 🌱🚜
