Our very own Sue Ross, Chief Administrative Officer, was a proud presenter a few weeks back at Duluth's Inaugural DisruptHR event. Interested in understanding exactly how Sue connects StarTrek with HR? Or what tops her list of great leadership qualities? Check out her 5 minute Disrupt HR presentation below. Huge thanks to Pat Heffernan & Chelsea Roy from Wheeler Associates for taking the lead on this fantastic event. We look forward to having additional maurices associates participate in the future! • Over the next few weeks, we’ll be featuring maurices Legacy Associates –associates who have worked at maurices for over 20 years and made impressive contributions to our company, and more importantly to our culture. Associates are the heart & soul of our organization, and it is with immense gratitude that we recognize these Legacy Associates for choosing to work at maurices for decades.   Today, we’re proud to recognize George Goldfarb, our President & CEO, who marks 40 years at maurices on April 1st. Throughout his 40 years, George has demonstrated the epitome of great leadership & stewardship. He leads with humility, kindness, & vision. George believes in service & community to his core, immersing himself in the communities we work & giving back in countless ways. Anyone who has had the honor of knowing George knows that creating a People First culture at maurices has been a key point of pride and priority over his career. For many of our associates, especially all of our Legacy Associates, the culture that George leads with every day is the reason maurices is the only place they’ve ever worked or ever wanted to work.   Join us in congratulating & thanking George for all he’s done & continues to do at maurices!

The Power of Heritage This week, maurices celebrates an incredible milestone: 94 years in business! Our legacy and heritage are not just stories of the past, but powerful foundations that will continue to shape our future. In 1931, during the heart of the Great Depression, E. Maurice Labovitz opened a single store in downtown Duluth. He promised that the store would offer "more of the best fashion," provide exceptional service, and give back to the community. Today, we have stores in over 850 hometowns and serve customers at maurices.com. These pillars—style, service, and community—define our incredible brand. Having been at maurices for nearly 40 years, I am deeply aware that I stand on the shoulders of giants who came before me. I honor their legacies by focusing on the foundation they established, particularly our value of People First. I often remind our associates: We are a people business. We don't just sell clothes—for our customers, maurices feels like a trusted friend. We are not just a place to work—for our 8,000 associates, maurices allows them to pursue their passions. The fundamental reason we've been around for 94 years is simple: we start with people! This week, we are not just celebrating the past but also acknowledging the present and envisioning the future. I am incredibly confident in our business and turnaround, especially given our recent successes. We will continue to uphold the values that have shaped our success while embracing new opportunities and pushing forward. I want to acknowledge the entire maurices team, who carry the torch of our heritage with pride and determination, ensuring that our story continues to inspire and empower generations to come. #maurices #workwhereyoulove #94years #legacycompany

  • Happy Women’s History Month! At maurices, our core purpose is grounded in serving women who are the heart of our hometowns. This month we recognize & celebrate the thousands of women who support our brand in our stores, in our home office, in their home offices, and in their cars (we see you, District Leaders)! As a brand, we're proud to be led by women -- not only are the majority of our associates women, the majority of our our senior leadership are women, as well. The diverse perspectives and experience brought by these leaders, and all of our associates, are instrumental in shaping our success. We've celebrated this month by offering Mentorship Mixers, a Catalyst program sponsored by our WINGS Associate Resource Group (Women's Inclusion & Networking Group for Success), & through recognizing the women who inspire us every day (see our Family Room bulletin board in the attached photo). We're also thrilled to offer a Keynote learning session with some inspiring external & internal leaders later this week. Share with us! How have you shown your gratitude or celebrated the inspiring leaders in your life this Women's History Month?
