We’re looking for someone who can dig into the forces that are both limiting and driving mitigation and adaptation, and explain complex science in straightforward terms. We want someone who’s eager to call up the experts, while putting the everyday person at the center of their stories: a reporter as comfortable covering a meeting of the Public Utilities Commission as they are reporting mid-stream in a pair of waders. This beat also focuses on how people in positions of power are responding to our warmer, wetter state. This is a full-time, exempt, hybrid-eligible role based in our newsroom in Concord, reporting to a senior editor. This position is part of the SAG-AFTRA bargaining unit. The role will be classified as either a Reporter (with a minimum salary of $62,100) or a Senior Reporter (with a minimum salary of $69,300), depending on the chosen applicant's experience level.
