Two things slow AI-assisted building down: not knowing which platform primitives to use, and writing prompts that don't account for how they work. Skills and Prompt templates are designed to fix both. Skills are context files that guide agents in using Netlify correctly: functions, identity, blobs, AI Gateway. The agent knows what's available and how to use it, so you don't have to explain it every time. Prompt Templates combine those skills into ready-to-use starting points. Structured patterns for common features like auth flows, dark mode, SEO checks. So you spend less time on setup and more on what makes your app different. Both are available from the first prompt. https://lnkd.in/gbKmGhTM

About us
Build with AI or code, deploy instantly on a platform built for agent experience (AX). AI makes it easy to generate code. The harder part comes next. Getting changes live. Keeping systems stable. Understanding what broke when something doesn’t behave as expected. That challenge grows as updates happen faster and more often. That’s the gap we’re closing. Netlify brings more of the development workflow into one platform so developers and agents can move from idea to production quickly, without losing context. We coined this agent experience (AX), a shared workflow where humans and AI agents work side by side and take responsibility for shipping quality software. As pioneers of the Jamstack movement, we bring together all modern web frameworks, serverless functions, and edge computing into a single platform to deliver unmatched user experience for anyone who builds with AI. More than 10 million developers use Netlify, from solo builders and vibe coders to Fortune 100 companies and teams at Figma, Mattel, and Riot Games.

This month's biggest update: you can now start a Netlify project from a prompt. Plus reusable templates, a new Internal Builder role for team collaboration, Astro 6 support, AI usage controls, and Codex integration. Here's everything that shipped in March!

Two weeks ago, we launched the ability to start a Netlify project with a prompt. Here's what that means in practice: → Type what you want to build → Pick your agent: Claude Code, Gemini CLI, or Codex → Get a live URL on production infrastructure in minutes → Iterate on the same project, in place, without rewriting No setup phase. No migration when the idea gets real. No choosing between a great starting experience and a platform that can support what comes next. If you haven't tried it yet, netlify.new is where to start. https://ntl.fyi/412VS7a

A year ago, Agent Experience (AX) was a framing. Now it's a requirement. The products that will stay relevant are the ones autonomous agents can use effectively on behalf of users. Access, Context, Tools, Orchestration: these aren't buzzwords anymore. They're the checklist every developer platform is being evaluated against. Netlify CEO Mathias Biilmann Christensen wrote a one-year retrospective on AX worth reading if you're thinking about where the industry is heading and what it means for how you build. https://lnkd.in/eiU-TmmS

If you've built something with agent runners on Netlify, we want to hear about it! What did you start with? What surprised you? What changed on the second agent run? The Netlify Creator Program is open for blog posts and videos. Editorial support, author credit, swag, and 3 months of Pro included. If you've got a workflow worth sharing: https://lnkd.in/dyQ_Q_NN If you're just getting started: https://ntl.fyi/412VS7a

Netlify is available in OpenAI Developers plugins directory. You can now build and deploy without leaving your workflow.
We're rolling out plugins in Codex. Codex now works seamlessly out of the box with the most important tools builders already use, like GitHub, Slack, Figma, Google, and more. With plugins, Codex can now support more real work, including the planning, research, and coordination that happens before you write code and the workflows that follow. Under the hood, plugins bundle apps and skills for seamless authentication to your tools, plus built-in capabilities so Codex is instantly great at using them. Plugins are available in the Codex app, Codex CLI, and IDE extensions. 🔗 https://lnkd.in/dcFApKW5

The Next.js Adapter API is now stable. This is a meaningful milestone for running Next.js across platforms with clearer contracts, fewer hidden behaviors, and more predictable deployments. Over the past year, we’ve worked alongside the Next.js team, OpenNext members, and other partners to help define these adapters, open up testing suites, and improve documentation, making it possible for platforms like Netlify to support Next.js with full fidelity. There’s still work ahead. Features like caching, partial prerendering, and on-demand revalidation require careful handling to deliver the same experience everywhere. But with the Adapter API in place, the path is clearer than ever. We’re excited to continue collaborating on these challenges and to bring full-featured, reliable Next.js support to developers everywhere. Philippe Serhal shares more: https://lnkd.in/ekEqzVZG

Most AI app builders are optimized for the starting moment. They're fast, low-friction, and impressive. You go from idea to working prototype quickly. Then the project gets real: users, data, access controls, APIs. And the platform runs out of runway. The options at that point: stay constrained, or migrate. Netlify enters the same starting moment but doesn't run out of runway. The infrastructure that supports a production app at scale is the same infrastructure underneath the first prompt. You start where other platforms stop. https://lnkd.in/gBzGrruP
