August is National Black Business Month, and last night we celebrated in style — hosting our fifth annual cocktail celebration at our New York City flagship. Brand founders, customers, and community partners came together for an evening in honor of shared creativity, conversation, and connection. The celebration continues at Nordstrom all month long, with pop-up shops giving customers the chance to discover and shop Black-owned and founded brands nationwide. It kicks off this weekend in New York, with additional pop-ups running across eight markets and 10 stores, including Atlanta, Charlotte, Chicago, Dallas, Houston, Los Angeles, and Washington, D.C. Thank you to everyone who showed up last night — your energy, stories, and support are what made the evening so special. We hope to see you at a pop-up near you this month.

This week on The Nordy Pod, our host Pete Nordstrom hands the mic over to a group of Nordstrom stylists, exploring what it means to be "Owners at Heart," one of our core values. Recorded live at Nordstrom's annual Platinum Pacesetters dinner — a celebration of the company's top-performing salespeople — the episode features candid conversations between some of Nordstrom's most successful stylists as they open up about the relationships, instincts, and personal evolution behind their success. Pete also sits down with Jessica Cloutier, Nordstrom's vice president of selling programs, who unpacks what "Owners at Heart" really means for the styling team and why there's no one-size-fits-all playbook for great service. This episode offers a look at what it takes to build trust, community, and a career rooted in caring about people first. Tune in: https://lnkd.in/gMq8nEvm

Last month, Nordstrom celebrated the opening of a new retrospective exhibit marking 125 years in business, brought to life in partnership with the Museum of History & Industry (MOHAI). The exhibit unfolds across four floors, each rooted in a different chapter of the Nordstrom story. It starts with shoes, the foundation the company was built on as a small storefront in Seattle. From there, guests move through decades of style, customer stories collected from the community, and a final floor tracing Nordstrom's place in pop culture. As Seattle's own history museum, MOHAI brought curation and storytelling expertise to help shape hundreds of archival objects in this exhibit. It represents a true hometown collaboration between two Seattle institutions. Learn more about the exhibit here: https://lnkd.in/gm5uVTJJ

Nordstrom started as a shoe store in 1901, and that legacy still shapes how we give back today. Shoes are one of the most expensive back-to-school purchases for families, and for some, that cost is out of reach — but studies show that ill-fitting shoes can significantly affect a child's physical and mental health. We believe every child deserves a new, properly fitting pair. This year marks our 16th year partnering with Shoes That Fit. Since 2010, we've helped raise more than $10 million and delivered over 480,000 pairs of shoes to kids in need. This fall, our goal is to raise $1.7 million and put 50,000 more kids in new shoes before school starts. To mark 125 years, we're also bringing back a beloved piece of Nordstrom history: the Nordy, reimagined as a keepsake pin. Starting today, it's available at any Nordstrom or Nordstrom Rack store for $10, with proceeds going directly to Shoes That Fit. Customers can get involved too — donate in stores or online, or pick up a Nordy pin at any location. Learn more about this year's campaign and how to get involved: https://lnkd.in/gk-_XTyd
