"I didn't know I needed to loop in third-party risk." 🙄 Jason Moore heard variations of this line over and over while running procurement at Discover. All from well-meaning people trying to do their job correctly, but since their risk program lived in an entirely different system they were never informed during the buying processes that risk review was even necessary. And NOTHING is riskier than that. In his new article, Jason explains why TPRM belongs inside the purchase workflow. In this setup, intake decides which requests need a risk review, based on what's being bought and from whom, automatically. Read: https://lnkd.in/giWZch6c

NEW DATA: Enterprises are building a portfolio of AI vendors, but it's largely turned into a stack with a very heavy center. In 2024, the average enterprise worked with 2.0 AI vendors; today it's 5.9. But the money hasn't entirely spread out with the stack. The largest AI vendor takes 68% of the average enterprise's AI budget, with the top three together taking a whopping 95%. That's just 5% left for the smaller players—enough to approve without much scrutiny, making them the first place for procurement to look for overlap. It's DPW Week! We have two ultra-exclusive **INVITATION ONLY** workshops this week with our partners this week in Amsterdam. If interested, you can request your invite below! Day 1 | Wednesday 30 Sept (13:15-14:15) Michael Rooney + Aarika Au (PwC) Recode Procurement: From execution to orchestration with PwC As AI takes on more procurement execution, the opportunity is not simply to automate today’s processes, but to rethink how work gets done and where people create value. Facilitated by leaders from Zip and PwC, this interactive workshop will explore what should be automated, augmented or remain human-led, how procurement roles may evolve, and where newly created capacity could be reinvested. Participants will leave with a fresh perspective on how procurement can shift from process execution towards orchestrating business outcomes. REQUEST A SEAT: https://lnkd.in/gaZsi64n Day 2 | Thursday 1 Oct (13:15-14:15) Shachi Rai Gupta + Kathryn Thompson (Deloitte) Preparing for procurement's AI-enabled operating model with Deloitte No organization feels fully ready for AI, but the ones that start anyway will keep pulling ahead. Facilitated by leaders from Zip's Enterprise Transformation Office and our partners at Deloitte, this invite-only roundtable addresses the "readiness" misconception head-on and walks through what it actually takes to build procurement's AI-first operating model. Participants will leave with a framework on how to assess their own readiness and accelerate AI transformation. REQEUST A SEAT: https://lnkd.in/gBr_JM7c
