Patients are turning to AI for advice, while clinicians are increasingly relying on AI-driven recommendations integrated directly into their clinical workflows. This shift has created a new decision environment—one that’s dynamic, unpredictable, and full of opportunity for healthcare brands willing to adapt. In her latest article, Nadine Leonard, Global Chief Solutions & Innovation Officer at VML Health, explores how brands can thrive in this new landscape. The decision environment has changed, with traditional approaches no longer being enough. The brands that evolve to meet this moment will not only stay relevant but will lead the way. As our teams report back from the opening days of European Respiratory Society's congress we hear from Mohammad Yaghoubi, MD on his thoughts on how the world of respiratory medicine is evolving ⬇️ "ERS has already showcased the dynamic evolution of respiratory medicine, with a record-breaking 7,200+ abstracts submitted and packed sessions driving a vibrant exchange of ideas. This year the congress explores a wide range of topics, including innovation, sustainability, planetary health, health equity, and the future of respiratory care. This year a key focus has been the shift toward precision medicine and patient-centered care. Advances in biomarkers, phenotyping, and individualized treatment strategies are enabling earlier patient identification and tailored approaches to diseases like asthma, COPD, and IPF. Importantly, discussions are emphasizing how to translate these innovations into real-world practice to improve outcomes beyond clinical trials. The convergence of respiratory disciplines is another notable theme, with shared biological pathways and overlapping clinical challenges reinforcing the need for multidisciplinary care models and cross-specialty collaboration. New initiatives supporting medical students and early-career scientists are also putting a spotlight on the next generation of respiratory leaders. Beyond the science, conversations are increasingly centered on prevention, earlier intervention, real-world evidence, and the integration of patient-reported outcomes into routine care and research. The optimism surrounding these advances is grounded in the belief that they are opening new opportunities to reshape respiratory health globally." If health advertising could solve one problem tomorrow, what would it be? We asked Jason Graff, Global Chief Creative Officer at VML HEALTH and Executive Jury Chair, Pharma, for the 2026 New York Festivals Health Awards to share his perspective. His answer: health literacy. As Jason explains, many of today's biggest health challenges are not just medical problems, they're communication problems. By turning complexity into clarity, we can empower people to better understand their health, advocate for themselves, and move us closer to true health equity. If health advertising could solve one problem tomorrow, what would you choose?
