The Angel Group has been an absolute rocket ship the last twelve months, and it’s not slowing down any time soon. Last March, Expo West 2025: The team was Adam Spriggs, Chris Robb, and me. We rented out a mansion and hosted our first-ever Pre-Expo House Party. It felt like a huge moment, and it was. Little did we know what was in store for the rest of the year... June 2025: Our core team doubled in size. Alyssa Arnold, P.E. and Maddie S. joined us, and instantly, our vision and capacity for The Angel Group grew tenfold. August 2025: At the last minute, we decided to debut our first trade show booth EVER at Newtopia Now. I'm biased, but I think our members would agree that it was the most exhilarating 20 x 20 space in the Denver Convention Center ;) And now, we’re just one week away from Expo West 2026. Our biggest debut yet. Our 20x40 booth at Expo West is the culmination of everything we’ve been passionately working on this past year: building community. Our booth is a home base for our members, portfolio brands, founders, and investors to recharge, grab a coffee, meet one another, and make this industry feel even more like home. I am absolutely stoked to be surrounded by my favorite people, brands, and products in just a few days. Thank you to our incredible co-hosts. We couldn't do this without you: ForceBrands • Harrison Co. • Gierd • BASECAMP Consulting Group • Dirty Hands • Promobile Marketing • supernatural ventures • Pixel Theory Express Checkout See you in Hall A! Booth #874 😉

Expo West is almost here, and this year, we’re building more than a booth: we’re building a home base. March 4–6, join us in Hall A, Booth #874 for a 20x40 kitchen-and-bar experience designed for real connection. Think espresso bar, comfortable seating, live interviews in partnership with Express Checkout, and samplings from Ayoh Foods, Stone & Skillet, Jesse & Ben's, and Drippy Dip. We’re especially excited to highlight our partnership with Express Checkout. Nate Rosen and Jenna Movsowitz will be live in our booth interviewing founders and sharing real-time perspective on what’s happening across the floor at Expo West. Expect live interviews, practical insights, and real operator conversations. If you’re part of our community, consider this your anchor point during the show. Come recharge, grab a coffee, meet other founders and investors, and spend time with the brands building the future of better-for-you food. You can also find TAG portfolio brands across the show floor: Ayoh Foods, Jesse & Ben's, Stone & Skillet — Hall A, 874 poppi — Hall C, 2786 Bachan's — Hall E, 5095 RIND Snacks — Hall E, 5484 Doughlicious The London Dough Co. — Hall E, 5631 Siete Foods — N428 Muddy Bites — N443 Proper Good — N1247 Painterland Sisters — N1302 COYOTAS — N1808 GOODLES — N2106 Expo West moves fast. This year, we’re creating a place to pause, connect, and build. See you in Hall A.

We’re showing up in a big way at Expo West this year! The Angel Group is hosting a 20 x 40 booth in Anaheim — and we designed it with one thing in mind: community. Our booth is designed as an open, social space for the TAG ecosystem — The Angel Group Kitchen & Bar — where members, portfolio brands, founders, and investors can gather around the table, share a drink, catch up with familiar faces, and meet new ones. Come say hello! We’re especially proud to have several portfolio brands exhibiting alongside us: • Ayoh Foods • Jesse & Ben's • Stone & Skillet • Bawi Agua Fresca • AL's Real Goods • Painterland Sisters • Drippy Dip And espresso + lattes will be flowing behind the bar thanks to our friends at Equator Coffees! We truly couldn’t do this without the support of our incredible co-hosts: ForceBrands • Harrison Co. • Gierd • BASECAMP Consulting Group • Dirty Hands • Promobile Marketing • supernatural ventures • Pixel Theory If you’re heading to Expo, we’d love to see you! We can’t wait to see this community in real life.

Un-believe-able. Following Siete and Poppi, Bachan's sale to Marzetti makes three brands our GPs and members backed early that have now been acquired in the last 12 months. Investing at the earliest innings is a longer journey. But as our first investments have had time to mature and scale, what’s become clear is that The Angel Group has built a unique ability to line up at the starting line behind some of CPG’s most exceptional brands. A special congratulations to my partner Chris Robb, who was instrumental in shaping Bachan’s from a promising concept into a truly market-ready brand and product. And to Ryan Fitzpatrick, Robert Van Horne, and the many others whose vision and belief were realized with today’s news. With M&A clearly heating up, I have a feeling we’ll be sharing more exciting outcomes soon 🙂 https://lnkd.in/gaE4vgAF

Still feeling energized after an incredible week in San Francisco with some of my favorite people. This is what The Angel Group is all about — and why I love what we do. Community. Experiences. Friendship. A few thank you’s… - Chris Robb & Lindsay Robb for making the whole trip happen - Cam Meekins for the 🏀 experience - Hovik Azadkhanian & Rick Bolander for hosting a private Heirloom Coffee Roasters tour for our members - Luke Oppenheim for the grocery tours! - Our entire SF community that braved the JPMorgan conference traffic to hang with us in the city 😉 More of this in 2026.

Last night I was talking about BEYOND Juicery + Eatery. This morning, I got on a plane and sat next to a Beyond Juice franchise owner. He had a Beyond Juice pin on his hat, so I asked where he got it — which led him to share his affiliation. Why am I sharing this? Most of us complain about the lack of in-person connection and spontaneous interaction in today’s digital-heavy world, and for good reasons. And while I feel this deeply as an outgoing twentysomething working remotely, I’ve also met some of my network’s most active angel investors on planes and at bars. I’ve even gone on a date during a layover at LaGuardia (a story for another time😉). I don’t think I “get lucky” with the strangers I meet. Whether it’s the grocery store, gym, or 30,000 feet in the air, I simply seek conversation and connection — and I’m often the one willing to initiate it. So no, it’s not luck. It’s effort. Elliott Disner thank you for reminding me of the joy of an interaction with a stranger — and for the coupons :)

I have always been an operator, the executor. I’ve never been the idea generator or the creator, and that’s exactly why meeting early stage founders feels so special to me. It takes a rare kind of person to imagine something that doesn’t exist yet and then have the courage to bring it to life. There is nothing I enjoy more than hearing the story behind a product or brand and understanding the moments that led a founder to pour their heart and soul into what they’re building. This week I traveled to Austin for the SKU Winter Brand Showcase and had the privilege of meeting eight incredible visionaries shaping the future of CPG. I also had the honor of representing The Angel Group as one of the judges. I was blown away by the creativity, resilience, and clarity from each of the eight presenting brands: FocusFuel Inc. WILD MONKEY BAR 18 Chestnuts Soups Dogistry Lotza Ulu Foods Thanks Danks cMOSS Beauty® I was also grateful to sit alongside a powerhouse panel of judges: Ann Frazier Allison Ellsworth Monica Watrous Christopher Cain Experiences like this remind me why I love this work. Supporting founders at the earliest stage, seeing their spark, and helping them build what’s next will always be one of my favorite parts of this journey.

There aren’t too many investors that invested in Siete Foods, poppi AND Bachan's. Adam Spriggs & Chris Robb did. And they were EARLY. Adam & Chris are the duo behind The Angel Group, one of the most influential early-stage investment communities in CPG, and supernatural ventures, a newly launched venture fund. They're an awesome team that just wants to help founders. I feel lucky to call them my friends. The guys joined Shelf Help: The Tactical CPG Podcast to unpack what they’re seeing across today’s early-stage CPG landscape - from what categories they’re most intrigued by, to how they evaluate founders, products, and data when there’s very little of it to go on. They share their frameworks for diligence, talk through the stories behind some of their flagship investments, and outline how founders can differentiate their brand in today’s market. Episode Highlights: 💸 How The Angel Group and Supernatural Ventures identify breakouts 🥇 The story behind their investments in Siete, Poppi, and Bachan’s 📊 How founders get forecasting wrong, and how to fix it 🚀 Why speed is becoming the new differentiator in CPG 📦 The importance of merchandising and store-level excellence 🧠 What truly makes a brand “differentiated” in 2025 📋 How to brief an agency the right way 💬 The biggest fundraising mistakes founders make ❤️ Why Chris actually enjoys the fundraising process The link to the full episode is in the comments.
