Great conversations this week at the US-ASEAN Business Council. WD CEO Irving Tan had the privilege of meeting with His Excellency Mr. Anutin Charnvirakul, Prime Minister of Thailand, and His Excellency Mr. Chaichanok Chidchob, Minister of Digital Economy and Society of Thailand to discuss Thailand’s digital future and the continued growth of the region. As data and AI reshape economies across Southeast Asia, the infrastructure behind them matters more than ever. WD is proud of our longstanding presence in Thailand and committed to being a trusted partner as Thailand and the broader ASEAN region build for the opportunities ahead.

WD Elevate brought Drivers together to innovate, educate, motivate, celebrate, and collaborate. Last week, Drivers (WD team members) from across the company gathered for our inaugural event to share breakthrough ideas, explore new technologies, and connect with colleagues from around the world. The energy, expertise, and curiosity on display reflected something bigger: a company and a culture built for what's ahead. As Irving Tan put it: "Don't be part of the future. Shape it." Thank you to every Driver who showed up, dug in, and made this inaugural event something to remember. Featured: Irving Tan, Ahmed Shihab, Ginita Taylor, Cynthia Tregillis

Every invention has a story. A problem worth solving. An idea worth pursuing. Countless hours spent testing, refining, and pushing beyond what's possible. At WD Elevate, we celebrated the inventors whose curiosity, creativity, and technical expertise continue to drive innovation forward across WD. Hear from the people behind the ideas. The Drivers whose inventions, patents, and trade secrets help shape our technologies, strengthen our innovation engine, and create what's next. Congratulations to this year's inventor honorees. Your ideas continue to drive WD forward. Shoji Suzuki Daniel Maksuta Qi Sarah Sun Dorothy Yang Ivana Djurdjevic Bernhard Knigge

Every time you interact with AI, far more data is being stored than you think. Tim Rausch, SVP of Product Engineering, took the stage at AI Infra Summit 2026 to show exactly how much. And what WD is building to keep up with that demand. From a roadmap to 100TB drives, to High Bandwidth Drive Technology with a path to 8X throughput, to our first dual-pivot actuator design—this is WD's HDD roadmap for the AI era. When people hear innovation, they often think first about technology. I think about the people willing to try something new. We recently held our first-ever WD Elevate, bringing together thousands of Drivers (what we call our WD team members) from Operations, Product, and our inventor community. I watched people share what they've built, test new ideas, and talk honestly about what didn't work the first time. That is our core value of innovation in action: take risks, fail fast, and learn faster. This week, Business Insider named WD one of America’s Most Innovative Businesses. It's a wonderful recognition of what I saw at Elevate and what happens every day across our factories, labs, and offices. To all our Drivers who keep challenging what is and building what comes next, thank you. This recognition belongs to you. #WD

GPU compute cycles end. The data they generate doesn’t. At AI Infra Summit 2026, Tim Rausch, SVP of Product Engineering at WD joined Matthew Kimball to explain why compounding data growth will determine how AI infrastructure scales. The economics become staggering at production scale. A TCO model that is off by one cent per gigabyte creates a roughly $10 discrepancy for a one-terabyte pilot. At 100 exabytes, that same error reaches $1 billion. Older data is also becoming valuable again. Western Digital-sponsored research found that 55% of organizations are using AI to uncover insights in archived datasets, prompting some to move data from tape back into active HDD tiers. With long-form AI video expected to drive demand even higher, Western Digital is targeting: 🔹 60-terabyte drives by 2028 🔹 100-terabyte drives by 2030 🔹 Read/write technology delivering up to 8x today’s throughput As AI moves from pilot to production, storage capacity, speed, and economics may determine whether the infrastructure can scale with it.

AI isn't just a compute story. It's a data story. We’ve been sharing that story all week at AI Infra Summit in Santa Clara, from Tim Rausch on the keynote stage, to our conversations on the show floor. Everywhere you look, the AI industry is grappling with the same question: What does it actually take to run this at scale? The answer isn't just more compute. It's infrastructure built to handle the volume, velocity, and reliability that AI demands. It's capacity that scales with ambition. It's data you can trust, at every step. We've been building for this moment for a long time. As the industry figures out what's next, WD is already there. Powering it from the ground up. WD is the Drive Behind AI. #AIInfraSummit #AIInfraSummit2026
