Hi Friends... 'tis the season... no not *THE* holiday season, conference season... Dreamforce, #AWS Re:Invent, and one near and dear to my heart...#Workday Rising, and as a long time attendee... here are some tips and tricks for those venturing to Vegas for #WDRising26 : -MAKE SURE TO SIGNUP EARLY when session scheduler is released 9-15. Sessions fill up fast, like Harry Styles ticket sales fast! Not sure there are scalper algos and tools created (yet! #AI #agent opportunity!) but get on there the minute the tool opens. Favorite sessions now which are all posted here: https://lnkd.in/eVmK4ApT -sign up for waitlists... THEY DO CLEAR THEM, and most of the time, wait listed people get into sessions. No promises, but I promise 100% you miss every shot you don't take, or will bat 1.000 when not signing up! -Wear comfortable shoes, or at the very least bring comfy shoes to change into. I love a good pair of Ferragamo loafers, or throwback Jordan 6s, with the glow in the dark toggle, as much as ANYONE... be sure your shoes are broken in and comfy, you will take 15k+ steps a day -DRINK LOTS OF WATER. Load up before you go, especially with electrolyte water before, during and after your events for the day. Seriously, load up, you will be super dehydrated, but also consuming things you don't normally consume (HH at 11 am with your favorite sales rep...? sure!) but be sure to bring a easy to carry, (clip on is ideal) -Don't overload your session with back to backs every day. Its a marathon, and you need down time to regroup and consume. While the sessions are great, I personally think braindates, and networking time are equally, and sometimes even MORE valuable use of your time. Check out the app and look up colleagues, introduce yourself to your peers at _____, you will learn so much and gain so much by making a new contact that you can ask questions of, trust me! Try to meet five new people a day! -Force yourself to be social... I know... not everyone who works in Finance, HR, and IT is Captain Extrovert! But you invested a lot of time away from home friends and family, your agency or company invested a ton of money, all so you could be there, even if you are exhausted after 12 hours of 'learning' and the idea of getting into those comfy jammies, ripping off your shoes, turning your AC to -10 Kelvin, and ordering room service sounds like heaven... go to the social events at night. I promise you, it will be worth your while, even if just for 30 minutes. -Finally... spend a few minutes in the expo hall. Find a few that look interesting and chat with them. Sponsors make this conference WAY less expensive than what it actually should be, are super important to all of us, and invest a lot of time away from their family too... many have really cool giveaways that you can come home a hero, bringing back 'treasures' to your kiddos... 🚀 Plan accordingly and I guarantee you will enjoy Rising a lot more! 🚀
