I had the opportunity to connect with Mark Raymond, CIO of the State of Connecticut, Glenn Churchill, Director of IT of the State of Connecticut - OSC and several government and technology leaders who are driving innovation across the public sector. One of the most powerful messages of the day came from Governor Ned Lamont. In his address, he emphasized that AI should be used to help people do their jobs better, not replace them. That perspective resonated throughout the event. The future of AI is not about eliminating human talent, but about augmenting it, enabling workers to be more productive, make better decisions, and deliver greater value to citizens. The conversations throughout the summit reinforced the importance of balancing innovation with strong data governance, security, and responsible adoption. As organizations continue their AI journey, success will be defined not only by the technology itself, but by how effectively it empowers people and improves outcomes. Aaron Cornfeld liked thisAaron Cornfeld liked thisThis week, I took an exciting new step in my career. Many of you are probably already aware, but I made the challenging decision to depart SHI in May. The team I had there was amazing, and there are so many people I will miss. I am incredibly grateful for the opportunities it provided and for my time working with Thai Lee and so many of the other amazing leaders there. But sometimes you just know something isn’t the right fit or the right long-term opportunity, and despite how many things were great about SHI and the people there, I knew there was something specific I was looking for. Initially, I thought I was going back to the world of startups and returning to cybersecurity (which, for anyone who knows me, is an area I am incredibly passionate about). But after a random call with a recruiter I had never met, I decided to take a call with one of the leaders at Mythics, and what I heard reminded me of the very things that made me want to build something again. The culture, the values, the focus, and the opportunity were all there. Despite having commitments to fund a new venture, I am excited to say that I made the decision to join the Mythics team as CTO to lead Technology & AI Strategy. After meeting with some of the incredible team here, including Paul Seifert, Doug Altamura, Tim Paydos, investors, and even one of the original founders of the business, it was clear that there was a distinct intersection of the kind of company culture I’ve enjoyed in the past, the needs of the business that align with my strengths, and the company’s position in the market to accomplish something great. Those signs were just too hard to ignore, and I am excited to already be diving in and learning the business. This week I am already out in Virginia Beach at our headquarters, getting to meet more of the amazing people who made this business the incredible success it already is. Mythics team, thank you for the warm welcome and all the welcome emails and LinkedIn messages. I am excited to be here and look forward to doing great things together.

Thanks to Bob Moser and Prime Holdings, I have a major opportunity to set the tone on AI inference. Shortly I will assume the role of VP of sales and government affairs for Edge Inference, selling Edge AI centers across Prime’s portfolio of properties. I cannot thank Bob and team enough as I get to call the shots and build my team with true ownership Intrest. There are a lot of people to thank especially Mike Daniels Darcy Phillips David Simpson and kishan Patel for our teamwork and building the NYS business. Importantly to my NYS customers - much love and appreciation for a massive partnership that will never be repeated. My network has proven invaluable over the years and no more than recently. I have 3 close friends and they know who they are. Thank you all for your faith and support. It’s always my belief you are only as good as your last deal. Those close to me never wavered. Those special managers I have had over the years have prepared me for anything to come. I am in your debt. Special thanks to Dorothy Amaro and you know why. This is a once in a career thing so I do not take it lightly. Watch this space for updates as while the deals get bigger the relationships are all that matter.

When I started community college in 1978, the Computer Science department had its very own IBM mainframe computer. After a career at IBM, designer Gene Amdahl left to form a company that produced a code-compatible competitor. Well before that time (around 1967) Gene formulated Amdahl's Law, which can be summarized as: "The overall performance improvement gained by optimizing a single part of a system is limited by the fraction of time that the improved part is actually used." It turns out that this law applies to AI-assisted software development! Even if you can use a parallel swarm of agents to formulate, generate, and test code far more quickly than ever, the serial processes upstream and downstream are now getting in the way of greater productivity. This includes meetings and other forms of team collaboration, management duties, source code control, and CI/CD processes. Some of these processes can be scaled up or scaled out, but others are going to be replaced entirely. There's a lot of room for innovation here.
