Amber Turley shared thisThe best partnerships aren't built by simply listing products on someone else's platform. They're built by identifying strategic opportunities to win together. That's exactly what we set out to do with DoorDash's Summer of DashPass campaign. By combining SEPHORA's and DoorDash's strengths and aligning around a key customer moment, we were able to create something bigger than either of us could have delivered alone. Proud of what our teams accomplished together and excited for a big day! Check out the campaign below 👇Happy shopping! https://lnkd.in/ghdszyQ6

Amber Turley shared thisI still remember pitching convenience and Same Day Delivery as a strategic imperative and getting asked: “Is beauty really an emergency?” Fast forward… and let’s just say...landing in a new city without my go-to Iris & Romeo Weekend Skin feels like one. Building this business from zero to a real growth driver has been such a fun journey and making beauty shopping ridiculously easy, immediate, and now with some surprises thrown in, is exactly what inspired our latest campaign: Beautiful Deliveries ✨ We’re taking same-day delivery and turning it into something more magical with surprise-and-delight moments, doorsteps transformed, and content you actually want to watch (yes, even the doorbell cam footage 👀). Because at the end of the day it’s always better to have Sephora at your doorstep (or maybe even a beauty founder?!). Heading out on a last-minute summer trip and forgot that one thing? We’ve got you 😉 👉 See what we're up to: https://lnkd.in/eKKjRcKZ https://lnkd.in/eDZaBCDy 👉 Go treat yourself to a last-minute haul (and don't forget promocode GETASAP for Free Same Day Delivery!) BTW - here's my latest go-to in case you were just influenced (all credit goes to India Leval for influencing me - best product recs!) 😉 https://lnkd.in/e9U8uX8D Massive kudos to our brilliant marketing team Laura Sokol Candace Payne Katie Horn Shannon LaVoye and to my team Juaniesha Dawkins, EMBA Rachel LaConti for cultivating so many ideas for omni and figuring how to bring them to life. #BeautifulDeliveries #SameDayDelivery #Sephora

Amber Turley shared thisProud to be part of this moment for Sephora, and grateful to Anca Marola for the vision to bring Sephora’s innovations to the forefront at VivaTech. 👏 This was my first time at VivaTech, and the scale of it really stood out. So many ideas, technologies, and companies all in one place—it’s a good reminder of how much is being built and how quickly things are moving. What I found most valuable, though, was simply being in the room with people, seeing different perspectives, hearing how others are approaching similar problems, and having real conversations about what’s actually working vs. what’s still theoretical. There’s a lot of power in bringing creative thinkers together like that. It also reinforced something I’ve seen over time: innovation only matters if it solves real needs. And the best experiences are the ones that meet clients where they are, but also surprise them a bit, in ways they didn’t expect. That’s what we’re focused on, continuing to build experiences that are useful, seamless, and ultimately worth coming back to. Appreciative of the broader teams pushing this forward every day.Amber Turley shared this10 years already since Viva Technology was launched. Hard to believe. I still remember being there when we were organizing the very first edition. Fast forward to today, and VivaTech has become Europe's largest startup and technology event. This year, Sephora was delighted to be part of the beautiful LVMH Dream Gallery, sharing how we are reimagining beauty customer experiences. From our Agentic Commerce partnerships with ChatGPT and Gemini, to AppStories that connect inspiration, discovery and entertainment directly to product pages and checkout, we're exploring new ways to make shopping more seamless, engaging and personal. A special thank you to our teams from US, China, SEA who represented Sephora on stage and brought these innovations to life. What struck me most throughout the week was how quickly AI is moving from experimentation to real customer value. Exciting times ahead for retail, beauty and customer experience. Amber Turley shared thisBeauty shopping isn't just evolving, it's happening anywhere. And that’s the opportunity. Great conversation at NielsenIQ C360 last week with Jacqueline Flam Stokes and Beryl Sanders on what it means to truly meet clients where they are. Today, discovery happens everywhere: UberEats. AI platforms like ChatGPT and Gemini. Our own app. And the journey is compressing fast: search → scroll → compare → open 10 tabs is becoming query → answer → decision → checkout At Sephora, our focus is staying consistent in experience while expanding in presence and showing up in moments of intent, not just planned shopping trips. Winners will be relevant wherever discovery happens.Amber Turley shared thisWhat a week in San Antonio for NielsenIQ’s C360 event. The temps and energy were high and Beauty was front and center. I had the pleasure of taking the MainStage with Amber Turley of SEPHORA and Beryl Sanders of Uber where we unpacked evolving consumer expectations, how Sephora is committed to being where their consumers are while keeping the experience constant across platforms, why occasion-based shopping is booming on Uber Eats and Sephora’s new partnership with OpenAI . Across nearly every discussion, one theme kept emerging- the consumer journey is fundamentally changing because of AI and agentic commerce. Discovery is changing. Decision making is changing. And the traditional path to purchase is collapsing in real time. Consumers are increasingly moving from browsing to prompting. From searching to asking. From endless choice to curated recommendations delivered instantly through AI-powered experiences, creators and connected ecosystems. The Gen Alpha panel was another standout. Alfredo Paredes of Five Below shared how “fun” is driving the company’s successful strategy and resonating with younger consumers looking for discovery, novelty and experience. Maggie Ting of Naterra International, Inc. /Tree Hut also offered important perspective on what it takes to sustain loyalty in a Gen Alpha world where trends, platforms and preferences shift at lightning speed. Natalie Fong of Ulta Beauty detailed the company’s partnership with Google and how AI is already deepening consumer engagement, increasing conversion and basket size and allowing Ulta to show up even stronger for its 46 million loyalty members. It was a powerful example of how quickly AI is moving from experimentation to real business impact. What also became clear this week is that staying relevant today requires more than data and technology alone. Brands and retailers need to understand culture, conversation and the speed at which consumer behavior is evolving. The kickoff keynote from Gary Vaynerchuk set the tone with a call to bring entrepreneurial sensibilities into corporate culture. His message to speak up, challenge convention and be willing to “die on your sword” for bold ideas clearly resonated across the room. In a moment where change is accelerating this quickly, playing it safe may be the biggest risk of all. For brands and retailers, this creates both massive opportunity with massive urgency. Those that will rise are the ones willing to adapt quickly, stay curious and get comfortable being uncomfortable. Combining trusted data, speed, adaptability and human insight will be critical to meeting consumers wherever discovery happens next. Buckle your seatbelts. The next few years are going to transform commerce faster than most people realize. And being in San Antonio during this Knicks run felt fitting somehow. You can take the girl out of New York, but you can’t take New York out of this girl. Knicks in 5. 🏀👏

Amber Turley shared thisGoogle Marketing Live this week felt like a marker of where things are heading. Really enjoyed connecting with Nick Fox and hearing how Google is thinking about this next phase where users aren’t just searching, they’re conversing, where agents act on your behalf as personalized intelligence in Gemini Spark, and where transactions seamlessly happen across Google and YouTube surfaces. That shift opens up entirely new ways for people to discover, research (and maybe offload less exciting tasks to an agent for the sake of having the time to double down on engaging in more fun ones- like shopping beauty), and seamlessly transact in the conversation, and for brands to serve in more helpful, contextual ways.Amber Turley shared thisBuilding off this week’s incredible I/O, I joined Google Marketing Live to talk with Semafor’s Ben Smith about how this expansionary moment for users translates into an expansionary opportunity for businesses. We're no longer living in a world of keywords — by bringing AI into Search, we're making it easier for people to ask anything and everything on their minds. This unlocks so many more questions people can ask, and billions of net new queries that advertisers can reach that they couldn't before. Some highlights: + New ad formats designed for AI Search: Since introducing AI in Search, we’ve been testing a new generation of ad formats that feel intuitive to the consumer experience. This bridges the gap between discovery and purchase, helping advertisers show up in the moments that matter most. + New tools supercharged by Gemini across our entire stack: We’re adding agentic tools to help businesses create and optimize their campaigns. Now in Asset Studio you can scale creativity by generating high-quality assets from a simple description of what you need. And I'm especially excited about Ask Advisor, a cross-product AI agent we're introducing to simplify and supercharge your workflow. One of the best parts about GML is the opportunity to talk face-to-face with so many amazing partners that are on the forefront of tech, helping shape the future with us… - Great to meet with Amber Turley of SEPHORA and hear how they’re embracing agentic commerce to serve their shoppers as an early adopter of the Universal Commerce Protocol (UCP). - Also so nice to chat with Agustina Sartori of Ulta Beauty. Ulta Beauty's been pioneering with UCP and recently launched agentic commerce within AI Mode, Search, and the Gemini app. It's been so incredible to see the entire industry really rally around UCP as an open standard… excited to continue working together to deliver new UCP-powered experiences! A huge thank you to Ben for hosting me, to the team that created the event, to our teams inventing these amazing products, and of course to our customers and partners for putting their trust in us… it’s a privilege to build the future alongside you.

Amber Turley reacted on thisAmber Turley reacted on thisThis week I heard our CEO, Amanda Kahlow share a number that I've seen before. That about 1% of companies that go public in the US were founded or led by women when the bell gets rung. Then she put it in terms nobody in the room will forget: in the animal world, a population that small is treated as one on the edge of extinction. Let that sink in and then consider the context of hearing this during the same week a woman is being dragged through the media for pursuing her case against Cornell university for something "sexual assault" doesn't begin to cover. Nearly two years later, she's still fighting to be taken seriously by her university and by prosecutors. There's the rhetoric around her story changing. What the law is. And more. We're taught to keep many things in separate boxes. In this case, one is a leadership stat for a conference stage. The other is a news story we don't talk about at work But these aren't different worlds. They're a a part of the same construct. The culture that decides a woman's company isn't worth backing is the same culture that decides a woman's account isn't worth believing. It shows up in a pitch meeting, in a promotion conversation, and on a college campus at 2 a.m. Women are asked to be twice as good to get half the seat at the table, and then asked to stay quiet about what it costs them to get home safely. Barack Obama said that if women ran every country in the world for two years, we'd see real improvement in just about everything. I believe him. We also don't need to wait for a world-stage experiment to act on it. We have power right now, in our own companies and our own networks. Fund women. Hire and promote women into the rooms where decisions get made. Hold men to the same standard you would hold women. Stop using the phrase "nice guy" to describe someone when you'd never say "oh, she's a nice girl." Believe women when they tell you what happened. Don't just make it safe to live, give them the room you're already taking up. I'm proud to work for a company led by a woman who says the hard numbers -- and a lot of other hard things out loud. She leads with intense vulnerability, she directly opines, she brings an energy that inspires every person to go beyond what they thought was their best level. She champions women. I have always done my best work, grown the most, and achieved the most when working for the right leader. Those have always been women. Champion women in every room, and in every part of their lives. Be an Amanda, not just a man.

"The Taste Economy"—and why it matters far beyond retail. My latest piece just published in Retail Merchandiser explores what I'm calling "The Taste Economy"—and why it matters far beyond retail. The fear around AI agents has been that they'll strip away the emotional, identity-driven aspects of commerce and replace them with cold optimization. But that fear is misplaced. What's actually emerging is something I call "Algorithmic Intimacy"—the ability to deliver personal relevance at scale. AI agents that don't just track purchases, but learn to read aspirations from behavioral cues. That understand the gift someone hesitated over last Christmas and recognize when the moment is finally right. Instead of endless scrolling through 500 nearly identical options, these agents surface three items that match aesthetic, climate needs, values, and style before consumers even articulate the criteria. We're already seeing it with Boots' AI-powered beauty diagnostics and Target bringing shopping into ChatGPT. But here's what retail leaders need to understand going into 2026: as AI handles more of the transaction, real competitive advantage shifts to taste, curation, and understanding what customers truly care about. The retailers focused only on driving purchases will lose to those who focus on aligning with customer identity. The same principle applies across every industry. As AI takes on more mechanical work, human judgment becomes more valuable, not less. The winners will be those who embrace what I've been calling the Master Orchestrator mindset—using AI to amplify human insight, not replace it. Full article in Retail Merchandiser. Would welcome your thoughts, especially from those seeing similar patterns in your sectors. Full article here https://lnkd.in/g6YTMUmm #AI #RetailInnovation #CustomerExperience #AIAgents #DigitalTransformation #TasteEconomy #AlgorithmicIntimacy #FutureOfRetail #EnterpriseAI

Just wrapped an incredible session with Google’s Retail Advisory Council, where CMOs from some of the world’s leading retailers - Target, Kohl’s, Sephora, Fanatics, and more - came together to discuss what’s next in retail. A few themes stood out loud and clear: - Quality > Quantity: Product feeds aren’t just plumbing—they’re brand. Images, descriptions, and video are now the front line of differentiation. - AI is the new workforce: We have a 24/7 team that never sleeps. The question isn’t if we’ll use AI agents across every function, but how fast we can build and scale them. - YouTube is the new prime time: Incremental TV reach still matters, but the next generation of brand building is happening on YouTube. - Personalization is non-negotiable: The industry is moving toward single-page, demand-led, fully personalized commerce experiences. My biggest takeaway? The future is here, it’s just not evenly distributed. Those who lean into AI, brand, and creative excellence today will set the pace for tomorrow. Curious: how are you bringing AI agents into your marketing org? And which part of your funnel do you think will be disrupted first?

Elena Bonvicini went from selling reconstructed vintage jeans on her high school locker room floor to Bergdorf Goodman in about five years. EB Denim’s trajectory is a case study in how modern fashion brands scale without following the traditional playbook. She started with a supply arbitrage insight: vintage men's Levis’Store 501s were abundant and cheap, women's vintage denim was scarce and expensive. She bought men's jeans, reconstructed them into women's fits, and sold them to classmates. But upcycling has a ceiling. Vintage supply is inherently limited. You can’t manufacture vintage at scale. So at the point where most upcycled brands plateau, Elena made the move that separated EB Denim from the rest: she launched a contemporary line using new sustainable fabric while keeping the vintage reconstruction line as her brand anchor. Smart sequencing: Use the scarcity and one-of-a-kind nature of vintage to build brand heat and celebrity placement (Hailey Bieber, Bella Hadid wearing truly unique pieces). Then leverage that brand equity to launch scalable product lines that can actually fill retail purchase orders. The brand's now carried at Bergdorf, Selfridges, REVOLVE, and Holt Renfrew. All manufactured in LA, which typically kills margin but becomes a brand asset when your customer cares about supply chain provenance. What’s impressive to me is the capital efficiency. Elena bootstrapped this from thrift-store inventory to global distribution without burning VC money. The vintage line generated early cash flow while she figured out manufacturing. The organic celebrity placement created demand before she had retail infrastructure. For brands in the $10M–$20M range trying to solve the retail expansion puzzle: EB Denim’s path shows the answer isn’t always “raise capital and build inventory.” Sometimes it’s “build disproportionate brand equity with limited inventory first, then use that leverage to negotiate retail terms that actually work.”

A good read from Modern Retail. Capturing ATTENTION—across consumers, retailers, and increasingly AI agents—has become the true holy grail of commerce. Success requires disrupting and influencing decisions with designed simplicity. The best do it, and you don't even notice!
