Vivian Weng shared thisSo proud to be part of this dream team 💖 Creator masterclasses, IRL community moments, a Mega Live for the books... this is what community-led, obsession-worthy beauty looks like at its best. Huge thank you and congrats to all the team members, creators, and partners who made Super Brand Day happen! And happy 12th birthday, ColourPop 🎉Vivian Weng shared thisLast week was one for the books at ColourPop 💖✨ After months of planning, our team officially kicked off our biggest campaign of the year for ColourPop’s Birthday Month on TikTok Shop — Super Brand Day — with a full week of creator events, activations, education, and LIVE selling moments. Feeling incredibly proud of what our team accomplished together. Here’s a look at the week: 💄 5/13: Creator Masterclass at TikTok HQ with celeb makeup artist Danielle Pavia Creators heard directly from our Head of marketing (Rachel Brenner) and Head of Product Development (Erin Lindsay) about upcoming launches, campaign strategy, and what’s next for the brand. ✨ 5/14: Super Brand Day Creator Event at Alba We brought creators together for tons of fun activations and goodie bags packed with ColourPop favorites alongside products from other top TikTok Shop brands across multiple categories. 🎤 5/16: “Cool for the Shimmer” concert activation around Demi Lovato’s Kia Forum tour stop. Huge shoutout to our PR/Influencer team (Sami Elfus , Helen Greenia, Brittany Bin , Colette Killworth , Andrea Gonzalez ) for bringing this event to life and for including TTS star Lexi Rosenstein alongside some of the top beauty creators in the space. 🛍️ 5/17: Our Mini Mega LIVE for Super Brand Day featuring Lexi Rosenstein The LIVE absolutely crushed it in sales and was such an exciting way to keep momentum going throughout the campaign weekend. It’s been a packed, fast-moving, incredibly rewarding week and seeing this campaign finally come to life has made all the hard work worth it. So grateful for the entire ColourPop team (Including our channel’s team: The incomprable Lauren Hill, the icon Alysa Rice for all her hard work before her new adventure) and for our amazing partners at TikTok Shop, especially Nicolas Eyraud and Jeraldine Alvis, for all of the collaboration and support along the way 💕 Special shout out to our amazing President Vivian Weng as well at the rest of the team: Michelle Song Tianna Treichelt Courtney D. Houston Teeanna Isaac for all of the additional support that went into these events too. Could not have done it without you all!

Vivian Weng shared thisTikTok Shop is quickly becoming one of the most important new channels in beauty. In Q4, Seed Beauty/ColourPop ranked in the top 10 cosmetics brands on TikTok Shop, a testament to the power of creator-led discovery and community-driven commerce. Congrats to Lauren Hill and Alysa Rice for getting us here… excited for what is to come!! 🔥Vivian Weng shared thisTikTok Shop Q4 25 US sales data shows the platform is maturing beyond viral gimmicks The latest Q4 2025 numbers from TikTok Shop gathered by Pattern®, the leading brand accelerator on e-commerce platforms reveal a marketplace undergoing rapid professionalization. High-ticket devices and legacy brands with sophisticated affiliate strategies are now outselling the impulse-buy trinkets that defined the platform's early days. In skincare, the concentration at the top is remarkable. The leading ten brands control 47% of the market, with Korean labels occupying every slot. Clinical efficacy has replaced cute packaging as the primary selling point. Consumers are now comfortable purchasing $100+ devices on the platform because video demonstrates instant results that serums cannot deliver. In particular, Medicube commands 19% of skincare through a hardware-plus-consumables model. Their devices provide the instant visual proof TikTok demands, justifying the premium price. Once purchased, those devices require proprietary serums and gels, transforming a single viral transaction into recurring revenue. They acquire customers through spectacle and retain them through necessity. Makeup reveals two distinct winning formulas. Legacy players like L'Oréal and Maybelline hold share, but the real story is demographic expansion. Laura Geller capturing 4% of the category confirms that older consumers are now shopping actively on TikTok. Brands either succeed through a single visually arresting product or, like Tarte, through vast affiliate networks that provide daily, trusted recommendations. Tarte's 10% makeup share show that they understood that TikTok Shop functions less as social media and more as modern home shopping television. By mobilizing thousands of micro-affiliates with generous commissions, they built a decentralized sales force that promotes daily. Their TikTok-exclusive bundles ensure discovery converts on the platform rather than at Sephora, protecting margin while driving volume. In Fragrance the classic Western designer names are absent from the top ten. Instead, consumers favor Middle Eastern houses and affordable dupes. The psychology is clear: fragrance remains a blind buy, and shoppers will not risk $200 on an unknown scent through a screen. Sub-$50 price points with compelling "vibe" storytelling are winning. Brands successful in haircare either rely on theatrical demonstration or personal stories. Color Wow's success hinges entirely on a product that performs like a visual effect on camera. Meanwhile, hair-loss brands thrive because founders share personal journeys, creating trust that standard advertising cannot replicate. To get more insights on how to build a successful Tiktok strategy, Pattern is hosting a webinar on March 11th titled "Inside the Beauty Creator Mindset: A Blueprint for TikTok Shop Success." Vivian Weng shared thisVivian Weng shared thisDrumroll please… our annual Top Beauty Brands roundup is live, celebrating the brands that led in 2025! 🎉 The rankings are pulled from our latest research, launching today, the 2026 Creator Advantage Report, which breaks down the levers that drive creator marketing performance: creator volume, content frequency, average audience size, and content performance. Heading into 2026, the takeaway is clear: there is no single playbook for creator marketing. Every brand wins in its own way, and the strongest teams are the ones using data to sharpen strategy and turn insights into action. A huge congratulations is in order to the teams behind the leading brands. This recognition reflects real work: the right creator strategy, consistent execution, and performance that proves the investment in creators is paying off. Congratulations to: L'Oréal, Kylie Cosmetics, LLC, Rare Beauty, rhode skin, r.e.m. beauty by Ariana Grande, Huda Beauty, E.L.F. BEAUTY, Maybelline New York, MAC Cosmetics, NYX Professional Makeup, MAKEUP BY MARIO, Medicube, Fenty Beauty, Cerave, Dior, YSL, Charlotte Tilbury Beauty, Seed Beauty/ColourPop, Neutrogena (Kenvue), Tarte Cosmetics, Armani, NARS Cosmetics, LANEIGE (AMOREPACIFIC), Benefit Cosmetics, and Kosas! On a personal note, I loved seeing some longtime favorites in the Top 25. From my days as a Maybelline college ambassador to now, they are still one of my most frequent purchases. YSL is my go-to for fragrance (yes, I own Libre in more versions than I’d like to admit), and I’m a proud LANEIGE loyalist for hydration, especially during these colder East Coast months. And last but certainly not least, congratulations to our team for bringing this campaign to life. Colton, Stephanie, Fanny, Tracey, and Evyenia, you are the best! Vivian Weng reposted thisThis one was special! For our annual National Lipstick Day trip, we teamed up with viral favorite Fruit Riot for their first-ever brand trip - Miami style. Splash of Colour. Splash of Sour. 🌊🍇 Such a massive team effort from start to finish (heavy on the finish part 😅). From concept and creative to the tiny details, we poured so much into making it an unforgettable experience for our creators. No production team or agency - just a talented in-house group. And it shows! We drove over 6M in EMV and 20M+ impressions, with a partnership that brought something new to the community. Couldn’t be more proud of what we pulled off together. 💚 And special kudos to Alex Page for joining to execute the confessional style “Kiss N Tell” Booth, giving RØDE an opportunity to connect with creators in a way that’s unique to their brand 🤫🎙️Vivian Weng reposted thisTeamwork makes the dream work! Thank you, Glossy + Lexy Lebsack, for inviting me to share our story with your community.Vivian Weng shared thisFew beauty brands have had an evolution quite like Southern California-based Seed Beauty/ColourPop cosmetics. Launched in 2014 at the height of the DTC era, the brand once released around 40 collections per year. “That’s how consumers were shopping,” Vivian Weng, ColourPop brand president, told Glossy. “For a number of years, consumers were looking for the latest launch … and looking to get their hands on limited quantities of something that was very, very specific and timely.” In today’s episode, Weng discusses the brand’s strategic evolution, the challenges along the way and the future of the prolific beauty brand. But first in today’s episode, hosts Lexy Lebsack and Sara Spruch-Feiner discuss the top headlines of the week. This includes Walmart’s plan to test new high-touch beauty bars in 40 stores, the growing marketing opportunity at Formula 1 events, the rise in clinical testing among leading supplement brands and MET Gala highlights. https://lnkd.in/emFf2JrpColourPop’s Vivian Weng talks omnichannel evolution — plus, Walmart tests beauty bars and clinical testing gains steamColourPop’s Vivian Weng talks omnichannel evolution — plus, Walmart tests beauty bars and clinical testing gains steam

Vivian Weng liked thisVivian Weng liked thisSix months at Alo today. Honestly, what a ride. When I took this role, I knew it would be big. But watching our first store open in China — that was a milestone I'll carry with me for the rest of my professional life. Standing there, seeing it all come to life, I just kept thinking: how did this happen?! I've been reflecting on these last six months, and one thing keeps coming back to me: behind every milestone is really a team of people who help make it happen. Nobody does this alone. Whilst I have never worked harder in my life, it's also truly been the most rewarding, most meaningful stretch of my career. This job, for me, is about creating meaning and impact — and my purpose here has never been clearer. But here's the honest truth: I couldn't do any of this without my family. To my wife — thank you for being here, for taking this leap with me, and for being my rock through all of it. And to my family — thank you for giving me the permission and the support to focus on work, knowing I'm okay because you're behind me. These last six months have been a dream come true , but dreams alone are meaningless without the reality to wake up to. You are the reason I do this, and all this belongs to us. Six months down. So much more to go. 🙏 #AloChina #Gratitude

Vivian Weng liked thisVivian Weng liked this"If you're Novig, you probably can't outspend Polymarket so you have to out-attention them." 🤔 Fortune interviewed me this week for a story on Sydney Sweeney and the growing role of celebrity in brand strategy. ✨ We got into competitive advantage, virality, brand identity, and the economics of attention. 🧐 About why Sydney Sweeney isn’t simply an endorsement for Novig, but a competitive weapon. And how her partnership with American Eagle Outfitters Inc. is faring one year later. We also discussed the risk on the other side: that a brand can become a supporting character in its own advertising.... that without a clear identity and transfer of meaning, it can eventually fall victim to weak brand fundamentals. Very cool to see an idea that started as a 3 minute reel in a series I'm building entitled 'Ad Anatomy' become part of a much bigger conversation in Fortune. 🙏 ✨ For more of my brand & marketing musings follow along here and hop on over to IG: @shrutionbrands. 🤓 Thanks to Camila Grigera Naón for including my perspective in her extremely sharp and thought provoking article. Aloha Friday! 🤙🏼 Here are some interesting stories from the world of retail for Friday, November 7: 👜 Tapestry raised its full-year outlook and reported quarterly earnings that beat expectations on the strength of its Coach brand - but the shares slumped, suggesting investors were looking for more. 🚴🏻 Peloton Interactive has posted its second profitable quarter in a row as it released strong guidance for the crucial holiday shopping season, banking on its relaunched product assortment to drive growth. 👟 Under Armour forecast full-year revenue and profit below Wall Street estimates on Thursday as the sportswear maker faces declining demand and higher tariff-related costs. 🛋️ Wayfair will open a smaller-format prototype for its namesake brand in late 2026. Located in Columbus, Ohio, the location will be approximately 70,000 sq ft. That’s about half the size of the brand's large-format stores. 🎯 Target, which has long relied on stores for online order fulfillment, is tweaking that model to try to improve shoppers’ experiences by freeing up employees to keep items in stock and help customers. 🏬 Saks Off 5th will begin closing nine stores starting in January, parent Saks Global said Thursday. Days ago the company said Saks Off 5th President Kim Miller will take a newly created role at Saks Global. 👕 Ralph Lauren on Thursday raised its annual revenue forecast after beating quarterly estimates on resilient demand for its high-priced Polo shirts and cotton cable-knit sweaters across regions. 🎄 US holiday sales are expected to surpass $1 trillion for the first time, the National Retail Federation said on Thursday, though growth is forecast to slow as economic pressures weigh on consumer sentiment. 💄 E.l.f. Beauty saw its shares fall sharply after it forecast annual sales and profit below Wall Street estimates. The company now expects more than $50m in annual costs from higher US tariffs. 🧑🏻⚖️ US Supreme Court justices have appeared skeptical of President Donald Trump’s broad use of the 1977 International Emergency Economic Powers Act (IEEPA) to impose sweeping tariffs. 🚚 DoorDash has published its third-quarter results, revealing that total orders increased by 21% to 776m and that revenue rose 27% to $3.45bn, surpassing analysts' expectations. 🍕 Papa Johns' shares dropped after comparable sales unexpectedly shrunk and the pizza chain slashed its outlook, as diners - particularly low-income ones - skimped on dining out. 💳 Buy now, pay later (BNPL) loans have overtaken store credit cards in popularity, according to LendingTree’s 2025 Store Credit Card Report. 👷🏼 Holiday hiring by retailers is expected to fall to its lowest level in at least 15 years, the National Retail Federation has said. #retail #retailnews #economy #DailyRetailNews

Nike's aggressive push toward "channel purity" (prioritizing high-margin DTC over wholesale) is backfiring. They're now rebuilding wholesale partnerships to move inventory, even at lower margins. The post argues that DTC success requires product pull and cultural relevance first—not just owning the channel. Without demand velocity (e.g., exciting products, buzz), DTC becomes an expensive illusion. Marketplaces eating DTC's lunch: The post subtly nods to this—wholesale revival means leaning on partners for distribution. Meanwhile, emerging platforms (Temu, Shein, TikTok Shop) are grabbing discovery and low-price traffic, forcing brands into hybrid plays. Amazon still dominates (~40% U.S. share), but the "channel purity" era is dead. Smart brands will use marketplaces for reach, DTC for loyalty/margins. Demand > Distribution: The sharpest takeaway. Too many DTC brands optimized for owned channels (apps, sites) assuming traffic would follow. Reality: No buzz = no motion. In 2026, expect more brands pivoting to omnichannel, influencer/social velocity, and even marketplace concessions to keep inventory turning.

Every day you delay a structured marketplace strategy, another brand quietly takes your shelf space in the digital aisle. No announcements. No noise. Just lost visibility, lost relevance, and lost momentum. I’ve seen this happen up close. Strong brands with great products assuming marketplaces will “figure themselves out.” They don’t. Marketplaces reward STRUCTURE. Not intent. Not legacy. Not effort. At @iinc, we work with leadership teams to bring discipline to the chaos. Clear category positioning. Winning keyword architecture. Pricing logic that protects margin without killing velocity. Content that earns trust in seconds, not scrolls. This isn’t about being present on marketplaces. It’s about being impossible to ignore. The digital shelf is finite. And it’s being filled every single day. The real question for CXOs and founders is simple. Are you building a system to win that shelf… Or leaving it open for someone else to take? @iinc @sundariyer #Sundariyer #iinc #callme #DMSundariyer #MarketplaceStrategy #DigitalShelf #BrandLeadership #EcommerceGrowth #FounderMindset #CXOStrategy

When it comes to newness, we often start with the wrong question. It's not: Should 23% of the assortment be new? Or 50%? It's: What are you defining as newness — and does your customer actually want it from you? Because newness is not one thing. It can mean a new color. A new fit. A new fabrication. A new category. A new collaboration. A new aesthetic direction. And those are very different bets. That's where brands get themselves in trouble. They chase newness as a volume metric instead of a relevance test. Take lululemon. And I say this as a loyal customer, not an outsider. I'm literally wearing lululemon while writing this. That's why I notice when newness feels aligned — and when it doesn't. A former senior lululemon executive put it perfectly: "You could feel it, going into a store and it wasn't like, 'I gotta have this' anymore." That feeling has a name. Drift. It's what happens when newness stops being a customer conversation and starts being a planning exercise. Formula 1. Disney. MLB. NFL. Lululemon Tennis Club. Very different plays — but they raise the same question: Who is this really for? Because Lululemon Tennis Club may reference the codes of tennis, but it doesn't necessarily serve the customer who actually wants to play tennis in lululemon. That's the difference between aesthetic newness and product truth. And when brands blur that line, customers feel it. Especially in performance apparel and footwear, where credibility matters. Nike, Adidas, Hoka, On, and Brooks have spent decades building technical authority. That's not solved by newness. That's earned trust. Newness should do one of two things: → Reinforce why your brand exists → Make your core customer feel even more seen If it doesn't do that, it's not newness. It's distraction. The real question is not how much of your assortment is new. It's whether your newness strengthens customer belief — or weakens it. https://lnkd.in/eeBsB_mS #specialtyretail #merchandising #productstrategy #retailleadership #brandstrategy

Just wrapped an incredible session with Google’s Retail Advisory Council, where CMOs from some of the world’s leading retailers - Target, Kohl’s, Sephora, Fanatics, and more - came together to discuss what’s next in retail. A few themes stood out loud and clear: - Quality > Quantity: Product feeds aren’t just plumbing—they’re brand. Images, descriptions, and video are now the front line of differentiation. - AI is the new workforce: We have a 24/7 team that never sleeps. The question isn’t if we’ll use AI agents across every function, but how fast we can build and scale them. - YouTube is the new prime time: Incremental TV reach still matters, but the next generation of brand building is happening on YouTube. - Personalization is non-negotiable: The industry is moving toward single-page, demand-led, fully personalized commerce experiences. My biggest takeaway? The future is here, it’s just not evenly distributed. Those who lean into AI, brand, and creative excellence today will set the pace for tomorrow. Curious: how are you bringing AI agents into your marketing org? And which part of your funnel do you think will be disrupted first?
