Brian Nicholson shared thisI’ve been consistently impressed by the talent and thoughtfulness of the FFF students. Thanks for all your questions and interest in taking food production to the next level.Brian Nicholson shared thisFMF is back out in the streets with the first visits of the semester! We returned to Red Jacket Orchard for a session on internal entrepreneurship with Brian Nicholson and continued at Fowler Farm with the importance of tech in ag with Mike Hacker. Both stops emphasized the importance of FLAVOR and customer service. A few of us rounded out the day with a side quest to Chimney Bluffs State Park. Good to be back!

Brian Nicholson shared thisWant to Join the 3% Club? I’m #hiring. Know anyone who might be interested? Only 3% of family businesses make it through the third generation - we’re one of them, and we’re gearing up for our next big chapter by hiring a President to succeed our outgoing President. Three generations, 60 years, multi–tens of millions in annual revenue and still growing double digits. This is a roll up your sleeves, build the future, protect the magic kind of role. If you’ve successfully grown sales + strategic partnerships in retail and foodservice, developed company-wide strategy, led all aspects of a manufacturing operation preferably in the food and perishable industries, and developed high performing teams…we should talk. Our third‑generation company didn’t survive by accident. We survived because we have long-term orientation, strong social capital, and values-driven governance. If you’re ready to help Red Jacket Orchards, a legacy brand scale into its next era - without losing what makes it special - this is your moment. DM me, comment below or send your resume to Presidentsearch@redjacketorchards.com if you want the full role profile. The role is based in Geneva, NY. Let’s build something extraordinary.

Brian Nicholson shared thisIt’s been incredibly rewarding to see Joe’s NY-Style Lemonade recognized for reimagining lemonade. We’re incredibly thankful for the recognition from the Specialty Food Association and everyone who has supported this product along the way! 🍎🍋Brian Nicholson shared thisOur Joe's NY Style Lemonade revolutionized an American classic by simply pressing apples and lemons, without using water or sugar like traditional lemonades 🍋 🍎 Its not only delicious, it's award winning 🎖️ Named 2026 Specialty Food Association Product of the Year-Beverage Grand Honor, and Non-Alcoholic Beverage Gold Award Winner! Brian Nicholson reposted thisBrian Nicholson reposted thisLast week, I had the opportunity to attend the Specialty Food Association's Summer Fancy Food Show at the Javits Center in New York City as part of my internship with my family's juice business, Red Jacket Orchards As a Cornell University Nutritional Sciences student, it was exciting to experience one of the food industry's largest trade shows and connect with professionals from across the specialty food and beverage sector. Walking the show floor gave me an incredible look at innovative products (like chocolate that looks like fried chicken!) and the relationships that drive the specialty food industry. Representing the fourth generation of my family business made the experience even more meaningful, especially because I had the opportunity to attend alongside my dad, Brian Nicholson, my uncle, Mark Nicholson, and Tracy Karban. I'm grateful for the opportunity to continue exploring the overlap between nutrition and business in bringing high-quality products to consumers. Looking forward to applying what I learned throughout the rest of my internship! #SummerFancyFoodShow #SpecialtyFood #FoodIndustry #NutritionalSciences #Cornell #Internship #FamilyBusiness #RedJacketOrchards

I spoke with CEO Aimee McCammon, and she put it perfectly - they couldn't change the roasting process, so they changed the energy instead by putting 486 solar panels on the roof of their factory. If you're a B Corp in New Zealand or Australia with a great story to share - please get in touch! #BCorp #BInspired #BCorpANZ #SustainableBusiness #SolarEnergy #Sustainability B Lab Australia and Aotearoa New Zealand Photo: Pic Picot

Brian Nicholson liked thisBrian Nicholson liked thisLooking forward to joining Cornell University colleagues and partners at #ClimateWeekNYC September 20-27. Throughout the week, members of the Cornell community will be participating in events across New York City, sharing research, ideas, and innovations that address critical challenges in sustainability, energy, technology, and society. On September 21, I'll join leaders from business, government, academia, and the nonprofit sector at the Concordia Annual Summit to discuss teaching, learning, and leading with artificial intelligence. As research and higher education evolve to meet the needs of future generations, #AI presents both extraordinary opportunities and important responsibilities. At Cornell, we are advancing research to make AI systems more sustainable while exploring how AI can help accelerate solutions to climate and sustainability challenges. Brian Nicholson liked thisBrian Nicholson liked thisFun morning catching up with friends and colleagues interested in all things NY small grains and local food purchasing for the vast and somewhat (still) untapped NYC marketplace. Pleased to join Hudson Valley AgriBusiness Development Corporation & NYC Mayor's Office of Food Policy Hudson Valley tour this morning! Always great to run into Michelle Hinchey whose support for local farms is just fantastic, and reconnecting with the legendary Gale A. Brewer who came upstate before upstate was cool to work with Cornell University College of Agriculture and Life Sciences and others to convince us all that supplying your neighbors in the form of NYC agencies and schools is achievable. Hard, but achievable!

Brian Nicholson reacted on thisBrian Nicholson reacted on thisWhen asked to give a keynote address on Capital and Markets as System Levers at the UN Global Compact Leaders Summit, I jumped at the chance…and then, of course, had to give serious consideration to the advice I wanted to share. Research tells us that while 88% of finance leaders believe it’s important to transform their financial decision making, only 9% actually feel empowered to make real changes. In my talk, I contended that we can do better. While no one of us will change the world overnight, we leaders can get involved immediately by convening with organizations that align with our values, training our colleagues through an ever-growing body of ways, and rewarding voluntary, rather than mandated, action by our team members. It’s important to remember that we can make our contributions, every day, through the ways we support the work of others. So pleased to represent Cornell SC Johnson College of Business as well as Principles for Responsible Management Education (PRME) on this big stage with so many great speakers. #sustainabilityfinance #sustainabilityleadership

Brian Nicholson reacted on thisBrian Nicholson reacted on thisAmerican universities are at a crossroads. Higher education is being challenged by disruptive forces that include declining public trust, increasing costs, an unsteady relationship with the government, and transformative technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI). Universities that embrace principled change will thrive; those that do not risk becoming obsolete. Last fall, I convened Cornell's Committee on the Future of the American University and charged its members with a critical task: to examine these disruptions, engage broadly with our community and external stakeholders, both critics and supporters, and help chart a path forward. Today, I share the committee’s final report. The report calls on universities to think boldly about the future of higher education by centering five commitments: to rigorous deliberation and engaged discourse, to robust public engagement, to sustained research innovation and resiliency, to strong community connections, and to greater integration and coordination. Dubbed “the first American university,” it is fitting that Cornell University undertook this project of self-reflection. At this critical moment, Cornell can and should help define a new model for the American university. I invite you to read the committee's full report and join us in imagining what comes next. https://lnkd.in/gqxrnc6MCommittee on the Future of the American UniversityCommittee on the Future of the American University
