🇵🇹 Com um percurso sólido e inspirador na hotelaria e restauração, @Mónica Oliveira é uma das figuras de referência na formação de futuros profissionais do setor.
Docente na ESHT desde 2006, é atualmente Professora Coordenadora do departamento de Hotelaria e Restauração e coordenadora da Licenciatura em Gestão e Administração Hoteleira. Dedicou grande parte da sua carreira ao ensino, à investigação e ao desenvolvimento. É detentora do título de Especialista e foi Vice-Presidente da ESHT entre 2017 e 2025.
Construiu uma carreira consistente na indústria, iniciada em 1991, onde foi Subdiretora de Operações em várias unidades hoteleiras. Paralelamente, teve um papel relevante na formação em turismo ao integrar o Turismo de Portugal I.P., onde foi Coordenadora de Cursos e Tutora de Turmas entre 1998 e 2017.
Atualmente, encontra-se a concluir o doutoramento em Turismo na Universidade de Vigo, na área da Hotelaria Regenerativa. É mestre em Gestão e Desenvolvimento Turístico pela Universidade de Aveiro e investigadora em projetos internacionais, com diversas publicações em revistas científicas.
As suas áreas de investigação centram-se no turismo sustentável e regenerativo, bem como no revenue management e na hotelaria, contribuindo de forma significativa para o avanço do conhecimento e para a formação de profissionais preparados para os desafios do futuro.
🇬🇧 With a solid and inspiring background in hospitality and gastronomy, Mónica Oliveira is one of the leading figures in educating future professionals in the sector.
A faculty member at ESHT since 2006, she is currently a Coordinating Professor in the Department of Hospitality and Food & Beverage and coordinator of the Bachelor’s Degree in Hotel Management and Administration. She has dedicated much of her career to teaching, research, and development. She holds the Specialist title and served as ESHT’s Vice-President between 2017 and 2025.
She built a consistent career in the industry, starting in 1991, where she worked as Deputy Director of Operations in several hotel units. At the same time, she played a key role in tourism training at Turismo de Portugal I.P., where she was a Course Coordinator and Class Tutor between 1998 and 2017.
She is currently completing her PhD in Tourism at the University of Vigo, focusing on regenerative hospitality. She holds a Master’s degree in Tourism Management and Development from the University of Aveiro and is an active researcher involved in international projects, with several scientific publications.
Her research focuses on sustainable and regenerative tourism, as well as revenue management and hospitality, contributing significantly to advancing knowledge and preparing professionals for the challenges of the future.
