After 43 terrific and incredibly rewarding years working in the accounting profession, including the past 36 years at Anchin, Block amp; Anchin (now Baker Tilly), I will be retiring effective October 1, 2026.
When I look back on my career, I feel an overwhelming sense of gratitude. During my time at Anchin, I’ve had the privilege of working with extraordinary people, wonderful clients, and an industry that has given me so many opportunities to learn, grow, and build lasting relationships.
I’m especially proud of the time I spent leading Anchin’s Fashion Group. Being part of the fashion industry was far more than simply a professional specialty—it became a passion. I had the opportunity to work with creative, entrepreneurial, and incredibly driven people across the industry, and I’m grateful for the trust they placed in me and our team over the years.
But when I think about what I will remember most, it won’t be the numbers, transactions, or business challenges. It will be the people - the colleagues who became friends, the clients who became trusted relationships, the mentors who helped shape my career, and the many people I had the privilege of working with along the way.
I’m incredibly thankful to everyone who has been part of this journey. You have made my career more fulfilling than I could have imagined when I started.
I also want to thank my beautiful wife, Debbi, and my beautiful and successful daughters, Erica and Samantha (I’m so proud of each of you), for their unwavering support throughout my career. You always encouraged me to do my best and patiently put up with the long hours, weekends spent working, and business travel that came with the job. I could not have done it without you.
As I turn the page and begin this next chapter, I’m excited about what retirement will bring more time with family and friends, more golf, more pickleball, new adventures, new interests, and, hopefully, plenty of time to enjoy life outside of the office.
Leaving a career and a firm that have been such an important part of my life is certainly bittersweet. But I leave with tremendous pride in what we accomplished, deep appreciation for the relationships I’ve built, and countless memories that I will cherish.
To my colleagues, clients, friends, and everyone who has been part of my journey: thank you. After 43 amazing years, I’m looking forward to what comes next.
Here’s to the next chapter!
