1wJason Miller liked thisA groundbreaking milestone for Helen. 💗 Helen is a 5-year-old living with CLN2 Batten disease, a rare and devastating neurodegenerative disease that causes children to progressively lose skills and abilities. This week under the care of Paul Orchard at Fairview Health Services, Helen’s T cells were collected for an experimental treatment dreamed up by our own Center for Genome Engineering scientists: Branden Moriarity, PhD, Beau Webber, PhD, Joseph Skeate, and Evan Kleinboehl. The team hoped to collect 3 billion cells. They collected an incredible 4.66 billion! Her cells are now at Case Western Reserve University, where researchers will use a drug product developed by Kommodo Therapeutics to engineer Helen’s own T cells to produce TPP1, the enzyme her body is missing. This approach has worked in the laboratory, but has never before been used in a human. What started out as an idea from our scientists is now moving toward a first-of-its-kind treatment for a child who desperately needs an option. Jason Miller liked thisJason Miller liked thisIf you know me, you know I'd rather talk about technology, movies, TV shows, food, dad jokes or pretty much anything other than myself. So I'll keep this short. I'm humbled and honored to be named to TIME's inaugural Executives of the Year: Tech and Data list. This honor is not mine alone. I share it with the large cross-functional team that took Intelligent Agreement Management from an idea to the fastest-growing product in Docusign's 20+ year history, built to help customers actually manage and extract value from their agreements, not just sign them. Our data and AI team includes engineers, data scientists, applied scientists, platform engineers, security engineers and many others - the people doing the work of making this run at scale, every day, for 1.9 million customers. As I state in the story, “You might still find companies not using AI. You probably won't find any company not using agreements.” :) https://lnkd.in/g2qrsm2X

Jason Miller liked thisJason Miller liked thisIt was a truly humbling experience to see what goes beyond a single prompt. I got an opportunity to attend and speak at AI Infra Summit. I came into the event with an idea of what happens behind the API layer but I never imagined the depth and complexity involved in making AI inference work at scale. From GPUs and CPUs to memory, cooling, networking, orchestration, and everything in between, there is an incredible amount of engineering happening behind every inference request. More importantly, I had the opportunity to meet so many amazing founders, builders, GTM leaders, and sellers who are pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in AI infrastructure and inference. I came away with a long list of conversations to continue and already have several follow-ups and potential collaborations in motion. On the personal side, I was privileged to represent Snowflake and speak about “Building an Enterprise Inference Control Plane.” I shared my perspective on why enterprises need to think beyond the model itself and why decoupling the model layer from the control plane layer can be an important architectural principle for building scalable, governed, and flexible AI systems. I’ll share more on this topic in an upcoming post, including some of the architectural patterns and lessons I’ve been thinking about. I’m also excited to explore partnerships with a few startups and enterprises doing pioneering work in the AI inference ecosystem. A big kudos to all the organizers for putting together such a well-executed event. The quality of conversations, ideas, and builders in one place was truly impressive. The more I learn about AI infrastructure, the more I’m convinced: The future of AI won’t be defined by models alone. It will be defined by the infrastructure and control planes we build around them. #AI #AIInference #AIInfrastructure #EnterpriseAI #Snowflake #GenAI #MachineLearning #DataArchitecture #AIGovernance

Jason Miller liked thisJason Miller liked thisOk, this is an update I'm actually fired up to share. We have officially opened a Tray.ai office in Columbus, Ohio! Being an Ohio native, I always had aspirations to make my way back to the Midwest. I learned a lot in my 13+ years in SF, but with a growing family we wanted to move home closer to family and friends. I am bullish on the opportunities in the Midwest and we chose Columbus specifically because of the momentum that is building. Some things you may not know: - Columbus accounted for 14% of the entire net job growth in the U.S in the TTM - Columbus added more than double the net jobs of Chicago and Indianapolis combined - Leading companies such as Nationwide, AEP, Cardinal Health, Huntington Bank, Wendy's are HQ in Columbus - AWS, Meta, Google, and Microsoft are investing $50b+ in AI infrastructure projects - Anduril chose Columbus for its flagship manufacturing mega-facility, Arsenal-1. We welcomed our founding class to Tray Columbus last week -- Illya Yefymenko Michael McLeod Will Swain -- who have hit the ground running. We are committed to growing Tray in Columbus and becoming a major contributor to the budding community here. A lot of people have helped me along the way. Thank you Will Zell Doug Ulman Mike Supeck Michael Cady Chelsea Wagner Patrick Klein Drew Kluender Chad Supers Mack Myers Bob Fenner and many others for paving the way. If you're in Short North shoot me a text. We'll be building! O-H

Hot take: if your “agent” is a 500‑line prompt wrapped in a webhook, you didn’t build an agent—you shipped a brittle script. The teams seeing step‑change gains aren’t asking one model to do everything. They’re assigning clear roles and letting multiple specialists work in parallel. Less monologue, more orchestra. Why swarms work: - Specialization: Smaller, focused contexts beat one mega‑prompt. - Parallelism: Research, drafting, and critique can run at once; results are reconciled, not hand‑waved. - Protocols over vibes: Tool use, interfaces, and checkpoints reduce fragility. Evidence and tooling: - Microsoft AutoGen shows multi‑agent collaboration improves coding/reasoning tasks: https://lnkd.in/gW_tyPBm - LangGraph enables stateful, graph‑based orchestration (with parallel branches): https://lnkd.in/gPPGXEt3 - OpenAI’s Swarm illustrates lightweight handoffs between agents: https://lnkd.in/gKeGPPVW - Research like CAMEL role‑playing (https://lnkd.in/g6VE6h4k) and Tree of Thoughts (https://lnkd.in/gYvFsS2W) underpin structured, multi‑step reasoning. For coding benchmarks see SWE‑bench: https://www.swebench.com/ A simple blueprint (R2P2): - Roles: Planner, Researcher, Builder, Reviewer, Operator. - Routing: A small orchestrator decides who acts next and with what inputs. - Parallelize: Fan‑out research/drafting; fan‑in aggregation and consensus. - Post‑checks: Tests, lint, fact‑checks, and human‑in‑the‑loop on low confidence. Practical patterns: - Sales intelligence: Parallel web/doc researchers produce briefs; a judge agent merges, de‑dupes, and cites. - Software changes: Test‑first planner → coder with tools → critic that runs tests → operator deploys behind a flag. - Support: Triage agent classifies; resolver drafts; QA agent verifies tone/facts; escalate on risk. Getting started this month: 1) Pick one painful, repeatable workflow. Write it as a checklist. 2) Turn steps into roles. Define inputs/outputs per role. 3) Orchestrate with a graph (LangGraph/Swarm). Add timeouts and retries. 4) Bake in evaluation (gold tasks, pass@k, latency, cost). 5) Log everything. Promote winning traces to playbooks. Prediction: The next wave is budget‑aware schedulers, event‑driven agents, and “agent ops” stacks for observability, policy, and safe tool execution. Single prompts won’t keep up. How are you structuring roles, routing, and review in your agent systems? What broke when you tried to scale a single agent—and what fixed it? The fastest margin lever isn’t headcount — it’s tech waste. In most enterprises, cost pressure shows up fast. But cutting people is often the slowest and riskiest way to respond. What I see working instead is this: Technology spend is fragmented across cloud, SaaS, on‑prem, and vendors — yet ownership and accountability are still centralized in spreadsheets. The companies protecting margin right now are doing three things differently: • Making technology inventory defensible (what we have, where it runs, who owns it) • Tying spend to an operating cadence, not annual reviews • Automating the obvious optimizations so savings repeat every quarter The real outcome isn’t just cost reduction. It’s predictability — and predictability is what boards reward. Curious how others are approaching margin pressure right now: cost takeout, risk reduction, or governance first? #CFO #CIO #TechFinance #Leadership

Most CSMs treat QBRs like a report card. I started treating them like a sales call, and my retention numbers never looked the same. At Commvault, I was managing 90+ enterprise accounts with $7M in ARR on the line. Early on I noticed something: customers who walked into QBRs already knowing the value we delivered were far easier to retain and expand. So I flipped the format. Instead of recapping the past quarter, I led with their business goals first, then showed exactly where our platform moved the needle toward those goals. The data came second. The story came first. That shift helped me hit 110% quota and land a 9 out of 10 NPS across a portfolio that size. It also changed how I think about every customer touchpoint. Every call is a chance to either strengthen the case for your product or quietly let a competitor make theirs. The QBR is not a formality. It is one of the highest-leverage moments a CSM has all quarter. Treating it like a check-in is leaving retention and expansion revenue on the table. How do you structure your QBRs to drive business outcomes, not just report on activity? #CustomerSuccess #QBR #SaaS #RetentionStrategy #CSM #EnterpriseCS #CustomerExperience #RevenueGrowth
