Joe Berry liked thisJoe Berry liked thisDemand planners do NOT own the forecast 100% Picture 1: everyone agrees Sales also owns the forecast. Picture 2: Sales explains assumptions, promotions, risks, customer behavior, and market context. These are essential inputs for demand planners. Because demand planners are responsible for: ↳ Fine-tuning forecasts ↳ Historical and market data analysis ↳ Driving consensus on demand plans ↳ Incorporating seasonality ↳ Using early demand signals ↳ Forecasting new products ↳ Estimating promotional impact But then comes Picture 3. Suddenly: “Supply Chain should fix the forecast.” And forecast accountability disappears. The reality: forecasts require cross-functional ownership. Demand planning cannot succeed without: ↳ Sales collaboration ↳ Market intelligence ↳ Timely communication ↳ Updated promotion plans ↳ Executive accountability ↳ Respect for the demand planning process This is why so many S&OPs struggle. Everyone wants forecast accuracy. But not everyone wants forecast accountability. Curious about the young Indian man in the picture, they set out to locate him. Their search led them to Munich, where they discovered he was living without legal residency and surviving with barely anything in his pocket. A journalist approached him and asked, “Were you aware that the blonde woman sitting beside you was Maisie Williams—the Game of Thrones star adored by millions? People would line up for a selfie with her, yet you showed no reaction at all.” He responded gently, “When you’re used to boarding trains without papers or a single euro, you stop noticing who sits next to you. Survival becomes your only focus.” Deeply moved by his honesty and situation, Der Spiegel offered him a job as a postman with a salary of €800 per month. With that employment contract, he was finally able to secure legal residency—without any hurdles. This story reminds us that fortunes can shift in moments we least expect. Never let struggle break your spirit. Stay patient. Your opportunity will come—at the time chosen by the Creator. 💯⭐

Apogee Supply Chain Technologies

Most companies treat sourcing and supply chain as separate functions. Procurement picks the supplier. Supply chain figures out how to get the goods here. If landed cost surprises anyone, it's treated as a logistics problem. But the logistics cost was locked in the moment the supplier was selected. The lead time was locked in the moment the production region was chosen. The compliance risk was locked in the moment the HTS classification was assumed rather than verified. Sourcing is the first supply chain decision. Everything downstream inherits its consequences. Technology that treats these as separate workflows will always be solving the wrong problem at the wrong time.

Spice sourcing doesn't end at procurement. Once spices hit the production floor, how they were processed, handled, and controlled upstream directly impacts your batch consistency, traceability, and line efficiency. The difference often comes down to whether your supplier is an intermediary or an actual processor with in-house cleaning, milling, blending, and QA. We break it down in our latest article: 🔗https://bit.ly/4rt35sv #FoodManufacturing #SpiceSourcing #SupplyChain #QualityControl #PacificSpice

Building Profit Through Smarter Supplier Connections: In procurement and distribution, sourcing directly impacts profitability. We focus on clear and direct communication with suppliers. Not just asking for prices, but ensuring specifications, capability, and requirements are properly aligned. What I enjoy most is talking with suppliers, checking details, and building real connections over time. Every conversation improves options and strengthens the network. In this business, your network becomes your advantage. #VMOCTrading #Sourcing #Procurement #SupplyChain #B2BTrading #BusinessGrowth #SupplierNetwork #IndustrialSupplies #ManufacturingSupport #BusinessNetworking

Navigating the supply chain can often feel like threading the eye of a needle. One pattern I've identified through years of supplier management is the chronic issue of late parts that aren't surfaced until after the promise dates have already passed. This has far-reaching implications: • Slows down the entire production process. • Increases costs due to overtime and rush orders. • Creates workplace frustration and impacts morale. The key to alleviating this problem: Transparency. Implore suppliers to report potential floor-level misses as soon as they occur, not when dashboard updates reflect them. This real-time information can streamline schedules, decrease unforeseen costs, and improve team morale. How are you encouraging transparency from your suppliers? What practices have helped you lessen the impact of late parts in your production process? Let's share our experiences and learn from one another.

“Based on what?” might be the most important question in business. In procurement and commercial roles you hear it all the time. “This is a major issue.” “This supplier is a problem.” “Our prices aren’t competitive.” “Customers are complaining about this range.” Sometimes those statements are right. But the first question I usually ask is simple: Based on what? What’s the evidence? Not to be awkward. Not to dismiss the concern. But to understand the reality. Because evidence changes the conversation. A “major problem” might turn out to be: • a £1,000 issue • one incident in the last year • something that feels big because it happened today Or the evidence might show something very different. It might reveal: • a pricing gap that is costing real margin • a recurring issue affecting multiple branches • a supplier problem that’s happening every week Now we have something we can actually solve. Evidence does three things: 1. It defines the problem 2. It shows the scale of the problem 3. It tells you whether the problem is worth solving Without that, we’re often just reacting to noise. And good businesses shouldn’t run on noise. They should run on facts, context and proportion. So the next time someone says: “this is a major issue…” Try asking one simple question. "Based on what?"

📌𝐒𝐮𝐩𝐩𝐥𝐲 𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐢𝐧 𝐝𝐢𝐬𝐫𝐮𝐩𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐢𝐧 𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐦𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥𝐬 𝐢𝐬 𝐧𝐨 𝐥𝐨𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐫 𝐚 𝐭𝐞𝐦𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝐩𝐡𝐚𝐬𝐞 — 𝐢𝐭 𝐡𝐚𝐬 𝐛𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐞 𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐚𝐥 Chemical procurement teams today are navigating a landscape far more complex than just “finding the right price.” Vulnerabilities in global sourcing — from raw material shortages and transportation bottlenecks to regulatory shifts and supplier concentration risks — can ripple through entire production networks with little warning. These disruptions aren’t isolated events; they are systemic forces reshaping how chemicals are sourced and delivered. What’s clear is that relying on traditional, reactive models exposes manufacturers to unpredictable lead times, price volatility, and operational stress. The industry we serve is seeing these challenges evolve rapidly, and every link in the chain has the potential to become a point of failure. 🌍 As the supply landscape continues to shift, staying alert to these risks isn’t optional — it’s foundational to resilient sourcing strategies. #ChemicalSupplyChain #ProcurementChallenges #ChemicalIndustry #SupplyChainRisk

What if you could cut landed cost 30–40% and never touch supplier chasing, QC, or customs again? If you buy in volume, you shouldn’t be paying distributor markups. Cost Hero Sourcing helps procurement teams cut costs by 30–40% through factory-direct pricing without taking on another internal job. School swag. Construction. Long-term care. Different categories with the same shared goal: lower landed cost with fewer surprises. Here’s what we deliver by category: - School Swag (bulk merch) Branded essentials like lanyards/ID holders, pens & stationery, tote bags, apparel, and event merch. Mockups + approval first, then production and delivery coordination. - Construction (site-ready sourcing) Safety gear & PPE, site supplies, millwork (full kitchens, vanities), hardware, and interior fixtures. Built around spec review, QC, and clean delivery handoff. - Long-Term Care (cost-per-room focused) Health-grade furniture and capital items with QC checks for build quality, tip-resistance, and fire ratings, delivered to site so budgets stay predictable. What we handle end-to-end: ⬤ Verified suppliers aligned with Western quality + compliance expectations ⬤ Pre-shipment QC (catch issues before they land) ⬤ Logistics + customs coordination to control total landed cost Our process is simple: share your scope → get a free, no-obligation quote → approve → we handle the legwork through delivery. #costherosourcing #schoolswagsourcing #constructionsourcing #LTCsourcing
