Julie Ginches reposted thisJulie Ginches reposted thisWhat took 40 hours in January might take four hours today. Good news, unless you're deciding where to invest. Patrick Shea calls it the "wait-and-hurry-up" dynamic: why commit to a year-long build when the next model release could make it obsolete? The hesitation makes sense. The cost is that you end up not playing at all. His reframe is that the finished product is only the last step. The lasting return is the competence and confidence your team builds along the way. An AI-savvy team carries the investment forward. Full article in the comments. #AI #B2BMarketing #Martech #AdDaptive

Julie Ginches reposted thisJulie Ginches reposted thisWhat a night. Boston AI Week’s Core Festival Week began on Thursday with Mayor Michelle Wu proclamation of Boston AI Week in the City of Boston, and opened in earnest on Friday with a full house at The Grand Boston in the Seaport, after the weather moved the Opening Party indoors on a day's notice. Founders, executives, investors, researchers, students, and builders from across Massachusetts filled the room, and the 7:00 PM panel on what is ahead for AI in Boston and beyond set the tone for the nine days to come. Thank you to WS Development and to The Grand for making the move possible; to Island Creek Oysters, our partner in this tradition, whom we will see at the Closing Party on October 2; to Opening Party sponsors Creatio and Red Hat and our panelists, including Jason Olkowski of Creatio and Jan Mark Holzer of Red Hat and to everyone who came out. And special thank to Amb.Prof.Muhammadou M.O. Kah, Ph.D Gambia’s Ambassador, for his opening remarks. The Festival of AI is built by this community, and Friday showed why. Core Festival Week continues. The next four days on the official schedule: Saturday, September 26: DevFest Boston at Hult International Business School, the Glasswing Ventures Enterprise-Ready AI Hackathon ($300K in compute for the grand prize), and MassRobotics’ Robot Block Party in the Seaport. Sunday, September 27: Day 2 of the Glasswing Ventures hackathon and the Harvard Innovation Labs × Sundai Recursive Learning Hackathon. Monday, September 28: GAI Insights World 2026 opens at the Hynes, and the Boston Generative AI Meetup takes the stage at Laugh Boston in the Westin Boston Seaport, with Launchpad.io, Flybridge, Starburst, Amazon Web Services (AWS), Gordon Brothers, and Stellix’s Stella, the Boston Dynamics Spot robot. Tuesday, September 29: AI on the Common at the Parkman Bandstand, the AI in Massachusetts Workforce Development and Career Fair at Boston University’s Metcalf Grand Ballroom with Questrom School of Business, Boston University, and QLab Demo Day at Harvard Business School. Everyone is welcome. Link to full schedule in the comments. #BostonAIWeek #TheFestivalOfAI #AIinBusinessAndInLife

Julie Ginches reposted thisJulie Ginches reposted thisI do not think I could have predicted last night one year ago. A year ago, BUILD617 was just an idea. Last night, I looked around a packed room filled with incredible founders, investors, builders, community members, partners, and friends. To call it surreal is an understatement. I was definitely a little emotional, which caught me by surprise. The energy was undeniable. But really #BUILD617 is not about dinners... or having a physical space or a podcast... Those are just pieces of something much much bigger. This is about building a movement around the people crazy enough to build great things in Boston. And somehow, all of this has happened in less than a year! There are so, so, so many people who deserve credit for making that possible. David Greaney, Kevin Marsh, Rachel Kirby Sandeman, and the entire Synergy team believed early in the vision for a physical home for BUILD617. Dave gets it. He built Synergy here, is a founder himself, and believes deeply in Boston, and he has gone all in on supporting the people building here. We are incredibly lucky to have him in this with us. Christopher Morrison and the team at Stifel Bank have been incredible from the beginning. They are building Stifel's presence here while simultaneously investing their time, network, and energy into BUILD617 and Boston's founder community. Matthew Taylor, MBA, Jill Bosco, Bill Coffill, and the team at CLA (CliftonLarsonAllen) jumped in feet first. They opened their network, showed up, and made it clear from day one that they wanted to help build this alongside us. Eric Popp, Aidan Kittredge, Laura Stoffel, and the team at Cooley LLP have also been huge supporters and have meaningfully helped BUILD617 get to where it is today. And of course, Nicholas Leonard. Thank you for being beside me through all of this. I could not do it without you, and I am incredibly proud of what we are building together. And don't even get me started on the founder wall... There are so many more people I could thank. Honestly, seeing that many people show up last night gave me chills. Way too many people to tag in a single LinkedIn post, but I am going to try to tag a sampling below. Steve Papa Andrew Lau Zenobia Moochhala Chris Combs Chip Hazard Jason Kelly Scott Kirsner Simon Taylor Benjamin Cohen Kairos Shen Matt Thoms Matt Crane Brian Devaney Ryan Durkin Giuseppe Stuto Jonathan Gootenberg Stefanie Chiras, Ph.D. Sara Fraim and so so many more. Tag people in comments! One year ago, BUILD617 was an idea. Today, it feels real. And we are just getting started. Julie Ginches reposted thisJulie Ginches reposted thisOmnichannel used to be a differentiator. Now it's the entry fee. According to McKinsey & Company 2026 B2B Pulse Survey, B2B buyers use an average of ten channels in a single purchase and expect to move between them without friction. So what actually separates leaders from laggards? Integration. Leaders are 4x more likely to run true one-to-one personalization and 2x as likely to have adopted gen AI. Having the channels was never the hard part. Connecting them is. Where does your stack break down: the channels, or the handoffs between them? #B2BMarketing #FullFunnel #Martech #AdDaptive

Julie Ginches liked thisPublicis says it's buying LiveRamp for "data co-creation for smarter agents." Your match rates, audience builds and conversion signals are about to run through a company with its own media business. I wrote up what I'd do this quarter: map where your identity lives, who controls each piece, and which pieces you want to own. The brands and agencies that start now move on their own schedule. The rest move on Publicis's.Julie Ginches liked thisPublicis is buying LiveRamp, the company that built its business on being neutral. In Nick Jordan's newest post, "The end of neutral identity," he makes the case for why it's time for a new model. For years, brands and agencies sent their customer data to LiveRamp because LiveRamp had nothing to gain from it. No media business. No agency. Once the deal closes, your match rates, audience builds and conversion signals run through a company that also works for your competitors. Nick's advice for this quarter: map where your identity lives, who controls each piece, and which pieces you want to own. The brands and agencies that start now move on their own schedule. Julie Ginches liked thisJulie Ginches liked thisOur core targeting technology has stayed the same since launch. In ad tech, that probably sounds like a confession. It isn't. From the start, AdDaptive has used IP-to-postal mapping to connect digital activity to real-world business data. What's changed is everything built on top of it. Early on, that meant knowing a company sat at a specific IP address. Today it's layered with firmographic and business data from multiple B2B data providers. The platform also started as a one-way targeting tool. Now analytics feed insight back to sales and marketing, so each campaign informs the next. Kevin O'Malley walked through that evolution with Pulse 2.0. A good foundation doesn't need replacing. It needs building on. #B2BAdvertising #Programmatic #B2BMarketing #AdDaptive

Julie Ginches liked thisJulie Ginches liked thisA few months ago, Eric Franchi started seeing a pattern in his inbox. Startups were building an agentic layer on top of every API and MCP server an advertiser could reach. First a couple, then 25+. He and Aperiam partner Corey gave it a name: the Unified Media Platform (UMP). On the latest Unharnessed, Joe and I asked Eric the hard question: does this category create new water in the pipes, or just pour the same water into 25 new beakers? Here are the highlights: → There are UMPs you've never heard of already doing seven and eight figures in ARR, growing faster than anything Eric says he's seen. → The bull case is access to everything, agentic-first, with the long tail of SMBs able to manage more platforms. → The best exits may come from buyers not on our radar. Nobody predicted Pinterest buying TV Scientific. Eric expects more "head-scratcher" deals from retail and vertical media networks that see the margins in advertising. → His 2027 startup investment map has three layers: rebuilding programmatic infrastructure, agents on top of existing platforms, and new category creation. "If you're not building it, you're going to be caught flat-footed." Full episode 👇

Having built a data platform at the largest independent agency, I know how much work happens behind the scenes. AI agents need those platforms connected before they can get anything done. I’ve continued building that “unsexy” plumbing at MadConnect. Glamorous? Hardly. Essential for AI to actually do its job? Absolutely! Julie Ginches liked thisSecond year in a row as winner, four years out of the last five as a finalist! 💪🏼 SafeGuard Privacy is the GOAT of Privacy Technology and founder and CEO, Richy Glassberg is just an old goat…Julie Ginches liked thisA SECOND AdExchanger Best Privacy Technology Award for SafeGuard Privacy! This recognition is especially meaningful as privacy diligence becomes an increasingly important part of how the digital advertising ecosystem operates. When we started, privacy diligence meant a questionnaire, a checkbox, and emails nobody wanted to answer. Once a year, if that. That's changed. Diligence is becoming a shared industry standard, not a one-off exercise. SafeGuard Privacy powers the IAB Diligence Platform and is built into IAB Tech Lab AAMP 2.3. Four consecutive years of recognition from AdExchanger as a finalist, including two Best Privacy Technology wins, strongly reflects the team, customers, partners, and colleagues who have helped move that work forward. It sounds cliché, but it’s true that we can’t do this without you. Thank You! Grateful to everyone who has been part of the journey. Fantastic article from AdExchanger that captures the delicate tension emerging between advertisers and chatbots. At the heart of this is a simple truth: AI Search and classic search come with very different experiences and expectations. When users engage with systems like ChatGPT, they aren’t browsing options—they’re asking for guidance. The interface feels less like a marketplace and more like an advisor. And that creates a new, fragile trust contract. The advertising risk isn’t advertising itself. The risk is misaligned incentives. Highly contextual, clearly labeled commercial offers—especially when a user explicitly invites them—can add real value. A timely deal or relevant product suggestion aligned with my query isn’t inherently problematic. But when monetization quietly influences ranking, recommendations, or answers, the system crosses a line. Once users suspect advice is being optimized for revenue rather than outcomes, trust collapses. The future of AI search monetization depends on preserving what I call recommendation sovereignty: the user’s confidence that the system’s guidance is optimized for their outcome—not the platform’s revenue. If AI continues to become the front door to decision-making, trust—not clicks—must be the business model. And we need to decide who the system ultimately works for.

Worried about declining website traffic? Take a cue from Joe Martin at Hearst. In a recent recap from #FIPPCongress2025, Joe shared how Hearst is leveraging first-party data—not just to deliver value, but to optimize their sites so the user experience truly matches the content. It’s about taking a holistic view across all platforms to ensure you’re giving customers the best possible experience: delivering the right content seamlessly, at the right time, without friction: "Engagement also depends on experience. “We can produce some of the best content available,” Joe said, “but if we have a bad experience, people are not going to stick around.” Hearst’s teams have therefore prioritised technical excellence – page-load speed, metadata, and canonical structures that avoid competing URLs. “We’ve actually created SEO checklists and a playbook for best practices that we’re rolling out to our international offices and our network of licensees,” he said. “Despite the talk of declines, we’re actually up year-on-year in traffic across our international brands.”"

The new Demandbase report is a wake-up call for B2B teams planning 2025. Ninety-six percent say they have a GTM strategy, but only about sixty-five percent use a hybrid approach that connects ABM with lead strategy. That gap explains why so many teams hit a ceiling. I have seen it: the teams that grow are the ones that stop treating GTM as a document and start treating it as a system. Marketing, sales, and ops look at the same accounts, the same signals, and the same revenue targets. That is where alignment becomes impact. With budgets tight and retention top of mind, this is the time to revisit how your GTM plan actually works. A hybrid model gives teams more control and removes the guesswork.
