Keith Gelinas reposted thisKeith Gelinas reposted thisAmazon has invested more than $20 billion in North Carolina and created over 26,000 jobs across the state. Today we're building on that with a multibillion-dollar agreement with Corning Incorporated to produce the optical fiber that powers our data centers. This investment will create 1,000 new advanced manufacturing jobs at Corning’s North Carolina facilities, support hundreds of construction roles to expand operations, and establish a workforce training program with Catawba Valley Community College to prepare people for careers in fiber optics and fusion splicing. Long-term investments should create long-term careers and real opportunity in the communities where we operate. Full announcement: https://lnkd.in/gw3NSxJT

Keith Gelinas shared thisOutstanding opportunity to join Amazon Web Services Automotive & Manufacturing Professional Services Team as a Principal ProServe Account Executive.Keith Gelinas shared thisMy team is seeking a Principal ProServe Account Executive to join our AWS Automotive & Manufacturing team. We are engaged in large-scale cloud transformation, AI/GenAI, and assisting major players in automotive and manufacturing to reimagine possibilities. This role is designed for a builder who creates opportunities rather than just managing them. Responsibilities include owning executive relationships, shaping multi-year transformation roadmaps, and closing complex deals ranging from $2M to $20M+ that transform how companies operate. You would excel in this position if you: - Have a hunter mentality and 8+ years in tech sales - Are knowledgeable about the automotive or manufacturing space - Can sit across from a CTO and turn cloud + AI into a business case they can't ignore - Thrive in ambiguity and can make swift, sound decisions Locations available: Boston, Chicago, or Dallas. I love what I do and the customers we get to work with. If you want to be part of it — or know someone who should be — send me a message. I'd be happy to refer qualified candidates that have the experience. Keith Gelinas shared thisTRADITION!Keith Gelinas shared thisAfter four years of service, I’m wrapping up my tenure on the NUAA Board of Directors. Looking back, I am incredibly proud of what we’ve accomplished together. Some of our key successes included: • Preserving History: Researching and writing “100 Years of the Norwich University Corps of Cadets Rings,” a comprehensive history covering 1923 to 2023. • Supporting Students: Establishing the Norwich University Ring Fund, now administered by the Commandant’s Office to support future generations. • Governance & Growth: Modernizing the NUAA Bylaws and strengthening the NU Alumni Club System. Diane Scolaro of the Alumni Office was a great support to us as we completed these projects. She is going to be missed as she steps back from some of these duties. During my tenure Brian Doyle came to the Alumni Office. He has provided a steady hand guiding the organization. Past NUAA Presidents Colm Walker, Brian Gibbons, Brian Dunne and current NUAA President Joey Mac Dizon are the volunteers who have led the NUAA during my tenure and they have provided great leadership. I am pleased to see Neil Julien coming in to assume some of Diane's responsibilities. There is more to do and I am confident Joey and his Executive Committee of Gene Enriquez, Sara Margalus and Joe Slavinsky will lead the NUAA to greater success. Serving the Norwich community is important and honorable work. At the Club level, I’ve been honored to post daily updates regarding our students, faculty, and alumni for the past five and a half years. I intend to continue this effort for the NU DC Alumni page until October 2026, at which point I hope to pass the torch to the next administrator. I am also excited to shift my focus toward my classmates as we prepare for our 50th-anniversary induction into the "Old Guard" in 2026. It’s been a privilege to give back to the institution that gave us so much. Norwich Forever! #NorwichUniversity #NUAA #OldGuard #NorwichAlumni #Service Diane Manion Scolaro Brian J. Keith Gelinas shared thisWhen I served as a Nuclear Missile Launch Officer in the 91st Strategic Missile Wing at Minot AFB, during the heart of the Cold War with the Soviet Union, we lived in constant readiness, never knowing when that order from the President, the Pentagon and SAC Headquarters might come. What Peter writes below is spot on in terms of maintaining that standard of readiness. God Bless those warriors who are carrying on that duty and responsibility today. We owe them a debt of gratitude. It is a highly demanding profession. “Peace Through Strength”Keith Gelinas shared thisI had a conversation with a Gp/CC recently that stuck with me. We were talking about how different organizations make decisions, and he made a point about ICBMs that I had felt for years but had not really put into words. In the missile field, you are not really “preparing” for war in the traditional sense. You are operating inside a posture where war is always a possibility. Crews are on alert. Security forces are defending the asset. Maintenance is keeping the weapon system viable. Training, scheduling, inspections, and leadership decisions all happen with that reality in the background. That is a very different rhythm than the majority of the military. Most units train, deploy, reset, recover, and train again. That cycle has its own difficulties, but it is still a cycle. The ICBM enterprise does not get that same clean reset. The mission is always on. That creates a leadership problem that is hard to explain unless you have lived around it. How do you keep an organization serious without making it frantic? How do you maintain urgency without relying on adrenaline? How do you keep people sharp when most days look routine and the best possible outcome is that nothing happens? I learned that lesson from both sides of the enterprise, first in missile operations and later in missile maintenance. One of the hardest parts of leading in that environment is knowing the difference between raising standards and just creating motion. In a no-fail mission, leaders naturally want to improve things. That instinct is usually good. But in a 24/7/365 posture, constant change can become its own form of friction. A new tracker, a new meeting, a new priority, a new process, a new “special project for the commander.” Each one might make sense on its own, but together they can wear an organization down and pull attention away from the fundamentals. That does not mean organizations should avoid change. It means leaders owe their people clarity on what is actually improving the mission and what is just activity wearing a mission-first costume. That was probably one of the biggest leadership lessons I took from ICBMs. You cannot sustain a no-fail mission through hype, crisis language, or constant churn. Eventually, people tune that out. You also cannot act like every task is equally urgent, because then people lose the ability to judge what actually matters. The real work is much quieter than that. It is standards. It is repetition. It is discipline. It is protecting the organization from unnecessary noise. It is building systems that do not depend on one heroic leader walking around creating urgency every day. It is teaching people that the checklist matters just as much on the boring day as it does on the high-visibility one. Strategic deterrence taught me that elite organizations are not built on constant crisis. They are built on standards that can survive routine.

Keith Gelinas shared thisIncredibly Inspiring Film!Keith Gelinas shared thisWe just screened Sum Function to a live audience for the first time and next week we get to do it again, on the opposite coast, in Beverly Hills. You spend years quietly creating something like this and have no idea how it's going to land, but the response was incredible. (Audience Choice - Best Feature Documentary) Hopefully the west coast shows up to join us and enjoys it as much as the east coast.

Keith Gelinas liked thisKeith Gelinas liked thisIt’s not every day that you get to meet with someone who helped bring about the defeat of the Soviets in Afghanistan. Ever see Charlie Wilson’s War? Today I had lunch with Joanne Herring, who was played by Julia Roberts in that movie. The real Ms. Herring is simply incredible. She has stood up against communism and other threats to democracy for decades, and she’s also been committed to helping refugees and other populations in need. It was an honor to hear about all the things she’s done over the years, and to tell her about all we’re doing at Texas A&M University - The Bush School of Government and Public Service to prepare the next generation of public servants. Big thank you to Laura Schilling, Chris Schilling, and Allan R. Marshall, M.Ed. CFRM for setting up and attending today’s lunch.

The Army Contracting Command-Detroit Arsenal released a Request for Information (RFI) Ground Combat Vehicle Production capability for Program Executive (CPE). The United States Government (USG) is seeking information from industry partners to explore innovative solutions for the rapid design, production, and delivery of ground combat vehicles. This RFI is part of the USG’s transformation strategy to modernize defense acquisitions, prioritize speed, and apply commercial practices to meet urgent warfighter needs. We are seeking integrated approaches that leverage advanced technologies like artificial intelligence (AI), digital engineering, and digital manufacturing; approaches that are implemented within a Modular Open Systems Approach (MOSA) framework, supported by a clear data rights strategy, and result in a scalable production capability. As part of our strategic direction, we are seeking solutions that move away from bespoke or highly customized facilities, favoring standardized, scalable approaches to supporting our future needs. Response Date: March 19, 2026 The complete RFI can be found in the attachments at the following link: https://lnkd.in/gH45VzSD #production #advancetechnology #artificialintelligence #digitalengineering

The Pentagon's research chief, Emil Michael, has announced a significant shift in tech priorities - the Under Secretary for Research & Engineering has streamlined the list of "critical technology areas" from 14 down to just six. This move is designed to focus resources, accelerate development, and deliver tangible capabilities to the warfighter in three years or less. The new "big six" are: -Applied Artificial Intelligence (AAI) -Biomanufacturing (BIO) -Contested Logistics Technologies (LOG) -Quantum & Battlefield Information Dominance (Q-BID) -Scaled Hypersonics (SHY) -Scaled Directed Energy (SCADE) According to Michael, "Fourteen priorities in truth means no priorities at all." This new, targeted approach aims to ensure that the most urgent national security needs receive the attention and funding required to maintain a decisive advantage https://loom.ly/MtOVefQ Follow us for ongoing analysis of how this strategic shift will impact government contracting and the defense technology landscape. #DefenseTech #Innovation
