Kirk Koenigsbauer reposted thisKirk Koenigsbauer reposted thisWe’re building Copilot as a new OS for work that spans every model, every form factor, and every task. Today, we’re announcing our biggest update to Copilot to date, bringing four things together: • Autopilot: proactive and long-running agent built for the enterprise • Code: build apps with Copilot, hosted inside your company’s tenant • Home: Chat + Cowork together • Office: now fully embedded in Copilot (and Copilot embedded in Office, of course!) Plus, you can invoke Copilot in Teams, and we’re introducing Today, a proactive experience that surfaces the most important information from across M365 without needing to ask for it. The way we work is changing and so are our workflows. This update brings AI into that flow, from answering a question, to building an app, to getting work done on your behalf. Kirk Koenigsbauer reposted thisKirk Koenigsbauer reposted thisOur goal is to deliver the latest frontier AI models to customers the moment they’re ready. Today, I’m excited to share that OpenAI’s GPT-6 Astra is available on day one across Microsoft Copilot, Copilot Studio, GitHub Copilot, and Microsoft Foundry. Astra represents an important step forward in the kind of complex, multi-step work AI helps people accomplish. As models continue to improve, people are moving from using AI for individual tasks to delegating larger pieces of work. Astra can complete long running and highly complex tasks in a way we haven’t seen before. At Microsoft, we’re bringing those capabilities into the products and workflows our customers already use every day. Astra is paired with Work IQ in Microsoft Copilot to ground intelligence in an organization’s files, meetings, chats, and business data. Looking forward to seeing what customers build with it. Kirk Koenigsbauer reposted thisKirk Koenigsbauer reposted thisWe’re entering a new chapter where AI becomes an active participant in how work gets done. As I shared with Jeremy Kahn in this Fortune piece, the shift happens when AI starts carrying work across tools, time, and context—instead of just reacting as an assistant. That’s what Wave 3 of Copilot is about: agents that can move work end‑to‑end across Outlook, Word, Teams meetings, and data, grounded in organizational context and built with enterprise trust. And with Copilot Cowork, that work can run over time—so you can delegate more while staying fully in the loop. Charles Lamanna brings this to life with four real scenarios in his blog, showing what Cowork looks like in practice. I’ve linked both below, in the comments.

Kirk Koenigsbauer liked thisKirk Koenigsbauer liked thisEarlier today, I shared some news with our employees: after nearly 18 years at LinkedIn and Microsoft, I'll be leaving at the end of the year. Below is the note I shared with our teams. None of this would have happened without you, the people who use LinkedIn and Office every day. You found jobs, hired great teams and learned new skills. You wrote the plans, built the spreadsheets and sent the emails that run businesses all over the world. Watching that happen at the scale of billions of people has been the best part of my career. I can't wait to see what this team and this community build next.

Kirk Koenigsbauer liked thisKirk Koenigsbauer liked thisI wanted to share more of the work that goes into building Copilot. So, I’m starting a series of short videos / whiteboarding sessions about the engineering problems our teams are tackling and how we’re thinking through them. The first is all about context, and how Work IQ makes Copilot special. Two companies can use the same AI model and get very different results. The model is important, but it does not come with an understanding of how your business or team works. That context is spread across the work happening every day: files, conversations, email, databases, and decisions. Figuring out what matters for a particular task, and what the model actually needs, is a hard & unsolved problem. That’s what we’re working on with Work IQ and why I’m starting here.

Kirk Koenigsbauer liked thisKirk Koenigsbauer liked thisI could not be more excited about our Copilot announcement today and the next wave of innovation we will bring to our customers. https://lnkd.in/exq6UPDq Copilot was built to enable AI in the flow of human ambition. It has evolved from a chat assistant to the singular place to get uninterrupted work done. With Home, the convergence of Chat and Cowork, you can interact conversationally and create artifacts collaboratively. Code allows you to build AI solutions that help overcome obstacles to improve how you work. Autopilot acts autonomously to execute ongoing tasks, manage projects, and handle follow-up. We are also announcing Office in Copilot: Word, Excel and PowerPoint are now built into the experience. This all happens within the Copilot canvas, but the true differentiation and power of Copilot is derived from the Intelligence + Trust platforms upon which it sits. Microsoft IQ is the open, heterogeneous, model-diverse, intelligence platform that enables individual and organizational IQ to compound from within, protecting your IP so your unique value does not leak to improve models. Work IQ pulls from an individual’s gated M365 environment, and today we are announcing that Copilot can now access data from across your organization by connecting to Fabric IQ and Dynamics 365. A trust platform requires Observability, management, governance, and security of every agent and agentic process running across your technology stack to ensure you are seeing value and ROI. FinOps is critical here, and we are introducing new capabilities in Agent 365 and Copilot to manage model choice and cost for both user subscription licenses (USL) and usage-based billing (UBB), depending on the modality being used within Copilot. Please join us at Ignite in November to learn about how our latest innovations will continue accelerating your path to become Frontier. https://lnkd.in/ejMEq8gH

A little over a year after graduating from the Harvard Business Analytics Program, it feels good to celebrate another learning milestone. The CMU program took me deeper into designing and building AI agents, from memory and tool use to multi-agent workflows, evaluation, and guardrails. I especially enjoyed putting those ideas into practice on a project close to home. Blossom, the academic planning assistant my daughter and I started during the program, has been growing too. Since my last post, we’ve added the ability to turn pasted school updates into assignments we can review and save, along with separate student and parent sign-ins. Small steps toward making it useful in our everyday lives, and a lot of fun building together. Next up: texting and integration with our family’s digital calendar. I’ll share more on those soon! Kirk Koenigsbauer liked thisKirk Koenigsbauer liked this4 months into retirement. I get two questions almost every day - what are you doing with your time and how are you feeling? The two words that describe how I feel: healthier and present. I wasn’t sure what retirement would feel like. After 4 months I can honestly say I feel physically healthier—and more present—than I have in decades. Healthier - The Numbers The first thing I look at every morning is my sleep score on my Apple Watch. When I was working, it was typically in the mid-70s. Now it’s consistently in the high 90s. Without deadlines, constant stress, and so much travel, I’m getting to bed at a more consistent time, and, frankly just sleeping better. In 2020, I read Why We Sleep by Matthew Walker. It changed how I thought about health and reinforced something I now believe strongly: health really does begin with sleep. I use an app that takes data from my Apple Watch and estimates my “biological age”—essentially how old your body behaves compared to your chronological age. In 4 months my biological age has dropped by four years. It’s now eight years younger than my chronological age. I’ve also lost 20 pounds since retiring. I still have about 15 to go, but I’ll take the progress! Present This may actually be the bigger change. I’m a much better listener now. And I’m somewhat shocked by it. For most of my career, my mind was constantly racing ahead—thinking about the next problem, the next meeting, the next deadline, the next goal. Now, when I’m with someone, I find myself much more focused on them and on what we’re doing right now. One of my favorite things to do is hang out with our grandkids—the “interns.” No timers. No meetings. Nothing to race to. We draw. We color. We play Rock Band. We play Frisbee. We play soccer. We jump on the trampoline. We just be. I’ve struggled with this my entire life. I’ve always been hyper-focused on the destination and the achievement. I’m only now beginning to understand what people mean when they talk about enjoying the journey. An old lesson When I was in college, I worked at a local grocery store. There was an 80-year-old man named Elmo who worked there four days a week. He showed up at 5:00 a.m. and spent the day lifting 40-pound boxes of fruits and vegetables. Elmo was incredibly strong. His grip was so firm that when you shook his hand, he could put you on your knees. One day I asked him his secret to longevity. “You have to be both physically and mentally active, or you’ll die.” At 21 years old, I thought it was an interesting comment from an old man. At 60-something, I think he was onto something. Don’t wait for retirement. You don’t need to quit your job to sleep better, exercise consistently, put down your phone, slow down, listen more carefully, or spend uninterrupted time with the people you love. Being physically healthier and more present doesn’t just make retirement better. It makes life—and work—better.

Just watched Bessemer Venture Partners' Byron Deeter on CNBC predict that 2026 will be the year of AI software.....shifting from a hardware/infrastructure focus to explosive growth in applications and agents built on top of that infrastructure. With trillions in data center spend fueling a massive multiplier for software value, the real boom is coming with AI software investments in 2026. Watch here: https://lnkd.in/gTDC7X_M

Anthropic announced the Claude Partner Network, $100M committed in 2026 to train, enable, and co-market with partners helping enterprises adopt Claude. 🎉 Earlier this week, I was at Anthropic's SF office with Sreya Parakala. We talked about what the next chapter of our work together looks like, deeper product integration, joint go-to-market, and building programs that move enterprises from AEO curiosity to real outcomes. Here's what I know after years in partnerships: ecosystem investment at this scale is a signal. It means Anthropic isn't just building a great model. They're building a platform other companies can grow on. That's when ecosystems become moats. At AirOps, we've been working closely with the Anthropic team for months. Claude is central to what we build. Our MCP connector is live in the Claude Marketplace. Our customers are already winning AI search visibility through it. Seeing a program like this take shape makes it very clear where this is all heading. Proud of the relationship we're building with the Anthropic team. Excited to see this ecosystem grow.

Last month I wrote about how AI is changing the way we build software, and how we need to change the way our teams work along with it. I really enjoyed the conversation that followed and hearing what others are seeing in their own teams. We’re living through that transformation at Microsoft right now. It’s changing how we structure teams, how decisions get made, and how leaders stay close to the work. And as AI gives us more capacity, we’re putting that back into building better, higher-quality products. There’s still a lot we’re learning as we go. I recently talked with Steve Rosenbush at The Wall Street Journal about what we’re changing inside Microsoft and what we’ve learned so far. More from that conversation here: https://lnkd.in/ghrAPFYh

The "agentic employee" is no longer a future concept—it is a modern workforce model in action. At Google Cloud, we see leaders moving past the question of if AI can augment people, toward a more consequential challenge: how do you redesign work when AI agents execute directly alongside your teams? Cognizant calls this the human-led, agent-operated model: • People bring judgment, strategy, and direction. • AI agents take on defined tasks and accelerate end-to-end workflows. • Together, they form a collaborative digital workforce. The results in practice speak for themselves: By deploying #Gemini and #GeminiEnterprise to ~20,000 associates, Cognizant is compressing project timelines that previously took 16–18 weeks into just days—automating up to 60%–70% of manual effort and freeing up teams for higher-value innovation. Speed and productivity gains are just the beginning. The organizations leading the next era aren't just deploying AI—they're redesigning how work gets done. Proud to partner with Cognizant to scale responsible, agentic AI across global enterprises. #GoogleCloud #GenerativeAI #FutureOfWork #EnterpriseAI
