The Minister highlighted improvements in macroeconomic stability and reaffirmed the government’s commitment to structural reforms, sustainable growth, and a business-friendly environment. ABF members appreciated the reform agenda and shared key recommendations on tax rationalization, export incentives, and ease of doing business. Sector-specific discussions included opportunities in pharmaceuticals, IT, and digital services to boost exports and attract investment. Both sides agreed to continue close collaboration and dialogue to support Pakistan’s economic transformation and enhance its position as a competitive investment destination. Anwar Kabir was elected at a Charter Members' meeting. The same meeting saw the election of the chapter's new leadership slate: Faeza Asad Khan as Vice President and Dr. Faisal Kamiran as Treasurer, with Shuja ul Hasan continuing in his role as General Secretary. OPEN North America was founded in Boston in 1998 by a group of Pakistani entrepreneurs in the United States. Nearly three decades later, it has grown into a global network of more than sixteen chapters spanning the US, UK, and Pakistan, connecting entrepreneurs, investors, and professionals of Pakistani origin worldwide. OPEN Lahore occupies a strategically significant position within that network, representing a city widely regarded as Pakistan's hub for technology, knowledge, and business culture. Kabir's election comes at a moment when the chapter's charter members and board have expressed a clear ambition: to establish OPEN Lahore as one of the most active chapters in the global OPEN network. “I am grateful for the mandate given to me by our charter members, and I don’t take that trust lightly,” said Anwar Kabir, incoming President of OPEN Lahore. “OPEN Lahore has a real opportunity in front of it: this city is where Pakistan’s technology, business, and entrepreneurial talent converge, and our chapter should reflect that.” Anwar Kabir brings over two decades of experience in advertising, marketing, and corporate communications to the role. He is the Founder & CEO of Brand Spectrum, a Lahore-based Integrated Marketing, PR, and Digital Agency, and serves as Adjunct Faculty at LUMS's Suleman Dawood School of Business. He also engages as an instructor at Lahore University of Management Sciences’ Rausing Executive Development Centre (REDC) SDSB-LUMS. Across a career spanning McCann, Mullen Lowe, and Brand Spectrum, Anwar Kabir has built a track record as a connector - founding platforms such as The Leaders Network Pakistan and Marketing Network Pakistan to bring senior leaders together around shared agendas. He has held leadership roles across TiE Islamabad, the American Business Forum, Rotary Club, and the LUMS SDSB Luminites Association. His work since graduation spans some of Pakistan’s most pressing development challenges — from serving as a Research Officer at the CPEC Secretariat to leading WASH and flood-response programs with Tayaba Organization across urban slums and flood-affected communities in Gilgit-Baltistan, to his role as a Young Development Fellow at the Ministry of Planning, Development & Special Initiatives. Saboor has now earned a generous scholarship from the University of Chicago to pursue their prestigious Master in Public Policy program. As his funding was generous but partial, two ABF Excom members stepped forward to help bridge the gap — a reflection of ABF’s continued commitment to investing in Pakistan’s next generation of policy leaders.
