Healthcare is undergoing one of the largest consolidations in its history. Private equity groups and major academic hospital systems are rapidly acquiring independent practices, rolling them up, cutting overhead, and reselling them in increasingly larger networks In this clip, Dr. David Lazar shares an important perspective on what this means for patients: • Consolidation may create operational efficiency—but often at the cost of the patient experience • Scheduling, follow-ups, and overall continuity of care suffer in mega-group environments • Physicians remain exceptional; the challenge is the system surrounding them • Independent private practices now have a unique opportunity to differentiate by elevating the experience, not just the medicine His prediction is clear: Solo and independent practices that invest in high-quality, relationship-centered patient care will thrive—because patients value personalized experiences over “big-box” healthcare. This is a conversation every healthcare leader should be having. 📌 New episode of The Q-Switch Podcast goes live on YouTube tomorrow. ⭐ Danaher + Masimo: A Play to Own the Acute-Care Setting A clever move from Danaher. With a bit of time to digest it - here’s my take: This expands Diagnostics from episodic lab measurement into continuous physiologic data inside the acute-care setting. It moves Danaher beyond its historically lab-centric portfolio into structural adjacency with patient-monitoring leaders such as GE HealthCare, Philips, and Medtronic. The portfolio now stretches from lab spend into ICU monitoring and hospital-wide workflows. That is a deliberate expansion of the hospital footprint - and a broader competitive arena. 🤔 Thinking in Clinical Settings, Not Modalities Radiometer and Masimo already operate in the same environments - ICU, ED, OR - where deterioration is rapid and decisions are high stakes. Clinicians rely on two complementary capabilities: · Continuous physiologic visibility · Episodic diagnostic confirmation Danaher now owns both touchpoints within that setting. This reflects how the strongest healthcare portfolios organize: around clinical environments, not product categories. Werfen is another example - positioning its solutions around Acute Care as a setting rather than a single modality. The broader point: the market rewards portfolios that map cleanly to how care is delivered --> solving for the needs of a setting rather than leading with technology. 💲By the Numbers - Danaher Diagnostics Diagnostics core growth has moderated to low single digits in recent quarters, creating pressure to raise the segment’s structural growth profile. Masimo helps reweight that mix. As a meaningful share of segment revenue, a high-single-digit Masimo trajectory has the potential to lift the blended growth ceiling. Danaher’s stated targets: · ~$530M EBITDA in 2027 · ~$125M annual cost synergies · ~$50M annual revenue synergies by Year 5 Standalone, the deal implies ~18× forward EBITDA. Including synergies, closer to ~15× over time. Not inexpensive - but defensible for a high-recurring, structurally faster-growing asset if execution holds. a. Cost synergies fit the DBS playbook: procurement leverage, SKU rationalization, manufacturing efficiency. b. Revenue synergies are modest, suggesting the return case does not depend on aggressive cross-selling heroics. The underwriting rests on Masimo’s standalone growth and Danaher’s ability to impose operating discipline. 💡 The Big Picture This is not a portfolio patch. It is a setting reweighting toward: · Faster growth · Higher recurring mix · Continuous data as part of the diagnostic stack · Deeper ownership of ICU / ED / OR workflows If execution holds, Diagnostics emerges with a broader acute-care presence - now spanning continuous monitoring, episodic chemistry, rapid molecular, and core-lab follow-up. The bet is clear: continuous physiologic data becomes adjacent to the diagnostic stack - and Danaher intends to test these competitive boundaries. #Diagnostics #Danaher

We are excited to support this live webinar that brings together leading experts to share case-based insights and evolving approaches to treating young adults with idiopathic scoliosis.   Aside from the key topics discussed by Drs. Lawrence G. Lenke, MD, Zeeshan Sardar, Munish C. Gupta MD, MBA, FAAOS, FAOA, and Michael Kelly, our partner Julie McLean, PhD, CPRH, Sr. Director of Scientific Affairs from LifeNet Health will explore how donor selection affects allograft safety — and how 13 million grafts without a single reported disease transmission reflect the highest standard of patient protection. #DePuySynthes #LifeNetHealth #Spine #Partnernship

The progress with Sol Radiology shows how AI can strengthen consistency and confidence in lung cancer screening workflows. Their team’s clinical expertise and commitment to delivering the highest standard of patient care continue to demonstrate what meaningful AI adoption looks like in real practice, not just in theory. It has been invaluable to learn from their hands-on experience and to see how collaborative innovation between physicians and technology can enhance every step of LDCT screening from detection to decision-making. Coreline Soft is excited to build on these shared insights and connect with more institutions shaping the future of lung cancer screening at RSNA. We look forward to continuing conversations with partners who believe, just as we do, that AI should elevate clinical quality, support providers, and ultimately improve outcomes for patients. #AIinHealthcare #Solradiology #CorelineSoft #LungCancerScreening #EarlyDetection #Innovation

Community drives adoption and adoption drives progress. New industry data shows general surgery and acute care continue to fuel U.S. robotic momentum, with Intuitive reporting strong utilization gains from its latest da Vinci 5 system. As health systems evaluate not just technology but the full ecosystem behind it, training, support, and efficiency are proving just as critical as innovation itself. This is how scalable medtech growth takes shape. #medtechman #medtech #innovation
