Mark Krolick shared thisJoin me and Professor Kelly Cutler, my esteemed Northwestern colleague, for the Digital Marketing Accelerator executive education program at Kellogg School of Management with the next session in December at our Miami facility. I’m excited to co-lead this program designed to bridge the gap between tactical execution and high-level strategic growth. Together, we bring a mix of academic rigor and deep industry experience in AI, digital transformation, and marketing strategy. We built this program specifically for three distinct groups: Digital Marketers stepping into Senior Executive roles: Master the strategic frameworks, financial acumen, and leadership tools required to scale campaigns into broader business growth. Brand Marketers needing rapid Digital Leadership: Fast-track your digital knowledge so you can confidently lead multi-channel teams, evaluate modern martech stacks, and direct modern integrated strategies. Leaders mastering C-Suite & Board Communication: Gain the confidence and vocabulary needed to translate complex digital metrics, AI strategies, and growth drivers into business outcomes that resonate with Boards and executive leadership. If you’re ready to shift from executing campaigns to shaping organizational growth, we’d love to have you join us. https://lnkd.in/gkHUUKJp

Oscar shared with students how this Listen-Learn-Lead philosophy can be used to lead global organizations with diverse customers, employees and stakeholders. He shared insight from his book, Turnaround Time, specifically how across the world trust comes only after transparency and vulnerability. Tom shared an overview of the global macroeconomic challenges and deep insights on consumers in the Japanese and South Korean markets and how marketing strategies and tactics must be adapted accordingly.

It will be a great way to add new creativity to our marketing communications and more attention to the safety information onboard. Just another way we continue to evolve the United brand for the next generation of travelers. Many thanks to the countless folks here at United, Sony and mcgarrybowen who worked to make this happen.

Mark Krolick liked thisMark Krolick liked thisTwo years ago I dusted off my winter jacket and boarded our Hawaiian Airlines flight from Honolulu to New York, where I joined my new Alaska Airlines teammates in unveiling Alaska Accelerate, an ambitious plan to transform our recently-combined company into the fourth largest global U.S. carrier, increase competition and offer travelers more value. Fast-forward (or accelerate) to today, and our 30,000+ people have executed on some of the most complex projects an airline can undertake: we brought Alaska and Hawaiian together under the industry's leading loyalty program, Atmos Rewards; achieved a single operating certificate; moved to one mobile app and passenger service system, welcoming Hawaiian to the oneworld Alliance, and established joint 2030 sustainability goals. Along the way, we have been growing our global network, introducing new premium experiences onboard and at our airports, expanding cargo and continuing to invest deeply in Hawaiʻi - all while capturing roughly two-thirds of our $1 billion incremental profit goal. Equally impressive? Amidst this exceptionally busy period, Alaska and Hawaiian have maintained a relentless focus on safety, and earned top guest satisfaction scores and operational performance results! Mark Krolick liked thisMark Krolick liked this✈️ Alaska Airlines is stepping further up to premium. Its next generation of single-aisle aircraft with embedded IFE will help lead the way. At Alaska Air Group’s Innovation Day in Seattle, I experienced the cabin concepts behind a significant leap forward: Aurora lie-flat suites, a new Premium Reserve cabin, and embedded inflight entertainment paired with high-speed connectivity. Starting in 2028, new Boeing 737-10 MAX aircraft will bring Aurora Suites to Alaska’s transcontinental flying, alongside Premium Reserve. Think 19-inch 4K entertainment screens in Aurora, 16-inch 4K OLED screens in Premium Reserve, and greater choice in how passengers relax, work, and enjoy their journey. For those of us at APEX who have seen the renaissance in inflight entertainment and connectivity, this investment carries special significance. A dedicated screen, a comfortable seat, and a connected cabin work together to create an experience passengers remember. The opportunity extends well beyond the hardware. Alaska can bring its distinctive hospitality into a more premium setting, giving travelers even more reasons to choose the airline. 📸 Four moments with the people bringing that vision to life: 1️⃣ Leading the premium transformation. With Ben Minicucci, President and CEO of Alaska Air Group and CEO of Alaska Airlines. Bold ambitions gain meaning through investments passengers can experience firsthand. 2️⃣ Leadership with a shared vision. From left: Hawaiian Airlines CEO Diana Birkett Rakow; myself; Alaska Airlines EVP & CCO Andrew Harrison; and President & CFO Shane Tackett. 3️⃣ Experiencing the next chapter. Trying Premium Reserve alongside Alaska Airlines SVP Fleet, Revenue Products, and Guest Experience Shane Jones. A firsthand look at the comfort and thoughtful design behind Alaska’s premium plans. 4️⃣ Bringing the details together. With Alaska Airlines Managing Director of Products & Guest Experience Mark Krolick. Every seat, screen, meal, and service detail contributes to the impression a passenger takes away. My sincerest thanks to the Alaska and Hawaiian teams for welcoming us into this next chapter. More comfort. More entertainment. More reasons to look forward to the flight. That earns my enthusiasm. #AlaskaAirlines #HawaiianAirlines #APEX #PaxEx #IFEC ✈️ APEX (Airline Passenger Experience Association) 🍽️ IFSA (International Flight Services Association) 🛫 Future Travel Experience

A new premium travel experience is coming with Aurora, our next generation of international Business Class and select trans-con First Class; Leihōkū, Hawaiian’s new Island-inspired premium experience; and Premium Reserve, an all-new premium economy cabin. We’re also investing in new lounges in Seattle and Honolulu, bringing Starlink Wi-Fi across our fleet, and continuing to evolve Atmos Rewards with more personalized ways to earn and experience the world. Most importantly, we’re connecting our guests to more of the globe. With new nonstop service to Paris and Athens this spring joining our growing international network, we’re building toward at least 15 long-haul destinations by 2030. Mark Krolick liked thisMark Krolick liked thisNow introducing Aurora Suites and Premium Reserve! Years in the making, but I’m so excited to finally have this work out in the world. Translating the Alaska Airlines brand into a global premium cabin interior has been one of the greatest challenges, honors, and a career bucket list body of work. So much of this would not have been possible without the talented work of ACLA Studio who have been on this design journey with us from start. When we set out on this project, the goal was to create something respectfully new that showcased honest materials, natural textures, elevated finishes, and truly Alaska Airlines. Across our new products you’ll see modern nods to our PNW roots. Whether it’s our Sitka Spruce Wood providing guests a warm welcome, Bering Blue leather bringing a warm elevated evolution of our Midnight Blue, the Emerald accents that evoke the dancing greens of the Aurora Borealis, or the brass sconce lights popularized in our Alaska lounges, a handcrafted cabin experience awaits. Looking to rolling these changes out late next year on our 787-9s, and in 2028 on our 787-10s, and my personal favorite, the Transcon 737-10 MAX.

Mark Krolick liked thisMark Krolick liked thisAlaska Airlines is planning a major premium spending spree. The Seattle-based airline on Tuesday announced a slew of upgrades for its planes and its airport lounges. For the first time, Alaska will install lie-flat seats on domestic planes. You could start seeing those fancy new suites on key transcontinental routes as soon as 2028. Also on tap: premium economy. For months, Alaska executives have been dropping hints about the cabin. Now, it's actually coming. Plus, Hawaiian Airlines' flagship jets are getting a significant upgrade in business class. The older lie-flat seats are out, and much more modern suites are taking their places. All told, it's a ton of news involving America's fifth-largest airline — and in a lot of ways, it marks the next step in Alaska's evolution after acquiring Hawaiian in 2024. The biggest surprise announcement today was Alaska's plan to outfit dozens of its single-aisle planes with lie-flat seats for the first time. Earlier this year, Alaska ordered 105 of Boeing's new Boeing 737 MAX 10 planes. And at least 25 of those jets are now slated to get a true long-haul style business-class product up front. With this move, Alaska is playing a bit of catch-up to its top competitors, which offer a higher-end experience on top coast-to-coast routes. By the way, those MAX 10s won't just have a new business-class cabin. They'll also have a true premium economy section. So will Alaska and Hawaiian's long-haul planes. After months of teasing premium economy, Alaska executives on Tuesday announced the premium economy is happening — for real. The carrier will call the cabin “Premium Reserve.” You'll see the new recliner seats on: ✈️ Alaska's 737 MAX 10s (12 recliner seats) ✈️ Alaska's Boeing 787s (35 seats) ✈️ Hawaiian's Airbus A330s (28 seats) Like most premium economy cabins, Alaska and Hawaiian's Premium Reserve cabins will roughly resemble domestic first-class. Mark Krolick liked thisMark Krolick liked thisToday, Alaska Airlines and Hawaiian Airlines unveiled what's coming next for our guest experience across each of these two incredible brands. What really brings both Hawaiian Airlines and Alaska Airlines to life is our people - whether sharing genuine Hawaiian hosptiality or remarkable care and connection - our teams make us who we are. These investments continue to give them even better tools to support them in taking care of our guests while staying deeply connected to culture and place - and set us up for a strong and thriving future. For Hawaiian, we're expanding our Leihōkū experience across the travel journey and sharing the future for our A330 widebody aircraft interiors, Hawai‘i airports and Honolulu lounge. Beginning in 2028, there'll be 22 lie-flat Leihōkū Suites on Hawaiian’s redesigned Airbus A330 fleet, serving as our premium front-cabin experience as First Class on domestic routes and Business Class on international routes. The redesigned A330 will provide the only four-class offering at scale between Hawai‘i and North America - with Leihōkū Suites, Premium Reserve, Premium Class and Main Cabin. The tip-to-tail updates, high-quality meal offerings from local chefs, Hawai‘i-based onboard product partners and of course the genuine Hawaiian hospitality of our crews means an exceptional experience for every guest. Mahalo nui loa to all our teams, guests, partners, communities and owners who make this possible. Read more here: https://lnkd.in/gqHHiHxr

#SKYW SkyWest is increasingly being framed as aviation “infrastructure,” not a typical airline: ~96% of revenue is fee-based under long-term CPAs with the Big Four (United, Delta, American, Alaska), limiting fuel/fare volatility. FY2025 showed strong operating leverage—revenue +15% to $4.06B and net income +33% to $428M ($10.35 EPS) on a 15% block-hour rebound. Management has paired fleet modernization (E175 dominance; 69 firm orders through 2032; limited major E175 expirations until late 2028) with balance-sheet optimization ($492M debt paydown in 2025; ~$707M liquidity; ~$1.5B unencumbered assets) and $85M in buybacks. Key risks: pilot wage inflation, FAA/TSA disruption, maintenance/parts constraints, and partner concentration. This may be stating the obvious, however AI isn’t just changing the way travellers search for travel - it’s redefining how customers discover experiences and delivering stronger commercial outcomes. A great example that we have stumbled upon comes from Alaska Airlines, which recently launched 'Alaska Inspires' — a guest-facing GenAI experience that allows travellers to explore destinations using natural, conversational language (reportedly the first customer-facing search GenAI launched by an airline). Instead of filtering through dates, prices, and airports, customers can simply ask questions like, “Where’s somewhere warm for a spring break family holiday?” or “How can I best use my reward points?” The AI responds with personalised destination ideas that are relevant, and human. The commercial impact is what really stands out. According to Alaska Airlines, 'Alaska Inspires' is delivering higher conversion rates than their traditional search engine — even outperforming fare sales. Not by discounting, but by helping customers find the right destination faster. This is a strong reminder of some of the potential benefits that can be achieved through the focused use of AI - enhancing customer experience, driving stronger commercial outcomes, creating value without eroding margin. Congrats to Bernadette Berger and her Innovation team at Alaska.

The travel industry isn't just evolving—it's being rebuilt from the ground up. At #SkiftGlobalForum last month, Leonardo Cardone and F. Alexander Sklar had conversations with OTA executives, airline leaders, and travel tech providers. Three seismic shifts stood out: 🔄 Major OTAs like Hopper, Booking, and Expedia are pivoting to B2B, now powering travel for banks and fintechs, not just consumers. 🤖 AI is moving beyond chatbots to become a personal travel concierge. The question isn't 'can it?' but 'should it replace human agents? ⚠️ Disruptions are intensifying (climate events, overtourism restrictions, aging fleets) and travelers expect proactive solutions, not excuses. The common thread? Everything is going embedded. Travel experiences that once stood alone are now seamlessly integrated into trusted platforms where customers already are. Our latest post breaks down what these shifts mean for the future of travel protection and customer experience. Discover our insights from Skift Global Forum on the future of embedded travel experiences 👉 https://lnkd.in/gjwDYJ3B #traveltech #embeddedinsurance #travelinsurance #skiftglobalforum

Alaska Airlines and Hawaiian Airlines Update: Alaska Airlines and Hawaiian Airlines have received a single operating certificate (SOC) from the FAA, allowing them to operate as separate brands while improving combined operations. New leadership is in place in Honolulu: Diana Birkett Rakow is the new CEO, succeeding Joe Sprague, with Jim Landers and Shelly Parker enhancing guest operations. Passengers will notice new flight numbers for Hawaiian Airlines, but both brands will retain their unique experiences. A single passenger service system (PSS) is planned for April 2026, aiming for a more seamless travel experience.
