Michele Kessler posted thisThank you BevNET Live for inviting me to participate in today’s “Company Spotlight: Weighing Mission and Execution.” I enjoyed comparing notes with other mission-forward companies: Bella Hughes of Shaka Tea, Ben Mand of Harmless Harvest. REBBL was founded on doing good for the People and Planet, creating positive social impact and environmental impact all while crafting ethically-sourced, organic, plant-based beverages. I'm inspired by all these businesses doing good! #REBBLWithACause #SocialImpact #rPET #EcoFriendly

She comments, “It is so well balanced that I couldn't deny its appeal and I don't think you could either. There's something about its smooth edges and full-bodied taste that drew me in.” Check out her article here > https://lnkd.in/gv3bBMub #SummitWine #TWGProud #BoxedWine #AppreciateTheMoment Food Republic

This week in my undergraduate and graduate classes at the University of Notre Dame, I shared a number of things I learned while working at Procter & Gamble from so many great leaders. Positioning Statements, strategy development & OGSMs, gross margins for products, and thoughtful one-page memos (persuasive & action oriented.) And that’s only from this week! And this week Procter & Gamble was on campus recruiting Notre Dame students. Thank you for hiring so many of my students over the years. PMAR2026 was filled with interesting data points presented by none other than Sam Balsara. While digital continues to expand, traditional media like OOH, English print still holds its relevance in the media mix. The large screen is now Linear + CTV, AI is the growing force in multiple aspects of brand marketing, navigating the ambiguity around measurement of top of funnel advertising on digital and building its correlation with performance are still some of the areas where the learning curve is building....Some great conversations anchored by Vikram Sakhuja Ajit Varghese.

I recently sat down with Seth Matlins for ‘The CEO’s Guide to Marketing’ podcast from @Forbes. It was a wide-ranging conversation, here are some of my highlights: * How a “big idea” must be rooted in some form of enduring human truth. But for ideas to endure, they also need to evolve. * Why managing a huge portfolio of brands and deciding how, where and when to invest is both a science and an art, as well as the lessons and inspiration that having a portfolio can bring. * The importance of setting brands which operate in the same category apart from each other – it’s imperative you’re clear on the different purposes they serve for consumers and innovation plays a critical role in achieving this. * How shifting perceptions and breaking out of a singular occasion to drive more growth for a brand often requires a total change of mindset internally – the role of marketing is to help people see the opportunity. * The journey we have been on at Diageo to reorganise our Marketing teams to enable greater efficiency and effectiveness – adapting to new ways of working can be challenging but we’re maximising creative and reducing costs as a result of our new Conscious Create Teams. https://lnkd.in/emD7vaRT I’d love for you to listen wherever you get your podcasts: Apple: https://lnkd.in/e-UZaens Spotify: https://lnkd.in/ecE_w367 #Diageo #Forbes

CAGNY 2026: General Mills - Reality Hits Amid Difficult Transformation General Mills just delivered a sobering guidance reset. By lowering the floor today, leadership is betting on a volume-led recovery tomorrow. A breakdown of the FY26 strategic pivot: The Guidance Reset: A Dose of Realism The "Accelerate" strategy is hitting significant consumer resistance. GIS has revised its outlook downward to reflect a tougher operating environment. - Organic Net Sales are now expected to decline 1.5% to 2%, a sharp turn from the previous flat guidance - Adjusted Operating Profit is projected to slide 16% to 20% in constant currency. This is the result of a "value-seeking" consumer and the $100M+ earnings hole left by the North American Yogurt divestiture The Strategy: The "Remarkability" Gamble GIS is doubling down on brand equity rather than racing to the bottom on price. The "Remarkability" framework targets five pillars: Product, Packaging, Communication, Omnichannel, and Value. The key gamble is relying on 25% of net sales coming from new products. To fuel this, GIS is reinvesting $100M into brand communication to win back household penetration The Engine: Efficiency via HMM To fund these investments without a total margin collapse, the company is leaning heavily on its Holistic Margin Management (HMM) program. The target is 5% of COGS in savings, leveraging AI-driven supply chain optimization to offset the $165M in restructuring costs incurred during this transition ------ My Take: General Mills is performing a necessary, albeit painful, structural reset. Divesting Yogurt was a bold move to shed a low-growth category, but it leaves a temporary void in the P&L. This is a classic "clean-up" year. By resetting expectations low, management is clearing a path for FY27. That 25% innovation-led sales target is incredibly high for a legacy player. If these new launches don't resonate immediately, "Remarkability" risks becoming an expensive academic exercise #FMCG #CAGNY2026 #CPG #Strategy
