Peter Thompson posted thisTen years ago we set out to solve a specific problem: how to provide distributed teams instant, secure access to shared data without moving it. We built LucidLink for humans, end users collaborating with files: video editors finishing films across continents, engineers collaborating on CAD assemblies across manufacturing sites, architects needing shared access to BIM models, and enterprise teams working with large assets across hybrid infrastructure. The answer we arrived at, "don't move the data, connect to it where it lives", required capabilities that took a decade to get right. Global consistency. Zero-knowledge encryption. A unified namespace that works across nearly any infrastructure. Then something unexpected happened. Enterprises started connecting AI agents to their existing LucidLink filespaces. Not because we positioned it that way, but because the data was already there. And what emerged from that was an insight we hadn't originally designed for: the same infrastructure that solved distributed data access for humans turns out to be exactly what agents need. Persistent shared state. Consistent handoffs. Humans and agents working in the same namespace. Today, we're announcing the public beta of the LucidLink MCP server. It's the entry point for what we think is a meaningful role for LucidLink in how enterprises put agents into production -- not by moving their data into a new system, but by connecting agents to where the knowledge already lives. Every AI factory assumes the data is already there. We spent ten years making that true. The full post is linked below. I'd love to hear what you're seeing in your own deployments. https://lnkd.in/gzdbAwkT

Peter Thompson shared thisThe TL;DR of my recent Q&A with CityBiz: "Storage is not a destination. It is the layer through which work happens." We discussed how AEC firms are moving away from the "move the file" model toward "working on the file in place." This shift isn't just about remote work—it’s a prerequisite for AI readiness. If your infrastructure can't handle machine-speed data access, your AI investment stalls before it starts.Peter Thompson shared thisQ&A with Peter Thompson, Cofounder and CEO at LucidLink Peter Thompson discusses how LucidLink is transforming collaboration for distributed teams by enabling instant access to large files directly from the cloud without syncing or duplicating storage. He highlights the growing demand for faster, more flexible workflows across creative industries as remote and global collaboration become the norm. LucidLink continues to expand its cloud-native collaboration platform across media, entertainment, gaming, and enterprise markets, building on momentum from its previously announced $75 million Series C funding round led by Brighton Park Capital, with participation from Adobe Ventures, Headline, and Baseline Ventures. Peter Thompson shared thisFive consecutive years, NAB Product of the Year. (I still can't believe I'm typing that!) This year's win recognizes LucidLink Connect — our newest capability that lets you instantly access files stored in native S3, Frame.io, Google Drive, Dropbox, Box, and OneDrive directly inside your LucidLink Filespace. No copying, no migration. Just activate and stream on demand. Thank you to our customers for the trust and feedback that built this, to the team for shipping something the industry is calling ground-breaking, and to our 31 ecosystem partners whose activations across the show floor were a highlight of the week — many of them building and demoing complex integrations after receiving our SDK just 48 hours before the show opened. #NAB2026 #LucidLink #ProductOfTheYearPeter Thompson shared thisFive years. Five wins in a row. And this year, a new reason to celebrate. LucidLink has taken home Product of the Year at the NAB Show five consecutive years running. But 2026 hits different. This year's win belongs specifically to LucidLink Connect. Our newest feature that brings real-time file streaming to all of your cloud data - from one unified filespace. The industry agreed this is a ground-breaking innovation, and so did TvTech, who named us Best of Show alongside it. To the teams that dreamed it up, fought for it, and shipped it — this one is yours. And to our customers and partners who continue to believe in LucidLink's work, thank you. Another incredible NAB in the books. Two awards, one unforgettable week, and a team we couldn't be prouder of. #NAB2026 #LucidLink #LucidLinkConnect #ProductOfTheYear

Peter Thompson shared thisThis is the shift I've been most excited about — LucidLink moving from something your team uses to something your technical team builds around. Provisioning, onboarding, permissions. The Developer Platform is our answer: APIs today, SDK in beta. Automate the repetitive, integrate directly into your stack, and open a path for AI and agentic workflows that need to work with data where it lives. Come find us at NAB — North Hall, Booth N2940.Peter Thompson shared thisLucidLink just got more programmable. For the teams managing LucidLink at scale, the operational work adds up. Provisioning filespaces, onboarding users, enforcing permissions across distributed teams. Most of it's manual. None of it has to be. Introducing the LucidLink Developer Platform. APIs available today. SDK in beta. Automate user onboarding and offboarding. Standardize filespace creation and directory structures. Integrate LucidLink directly into your internal systems and workflow logic. And for teams building in code, backend automation, media pipelines, AI and agentic workflows, the SDK opens a more direct path to working with LucidLink. This is LucidLink moving from something your team uses to something your technical team can build around. Learn more here: https://lnkd.in/g8dv4efE

Peter Thompson shared thisThis piece is personal. At 48, I made a decision that didn’t make much sense on paper—leave a steady path and start over. What followed was a lot of discomfort, 33 investor rejections, mountains of second-guessing, and ultimately the foundation for what LucidLink has become. I wrote this because I think we systematically underestimate the value of experience—and overestimate the cost of taking a risk later in your career. The bigger risk isn’t failure. It’s deciding your window has closed. Grateful to Fortune for the platform.Peter Thompson shared this"I was rejected 33 times and built a $390 million company, at 48 years old. Age bias in tech is costing us all." Our CEO, Peter Thompson, shares why later-stage reinvention is a competitive advantage. Two decades of pattern recognition, 33 investor rejections, and the conviction to keep going is what built the platform now trusted by Paramount, Adobe, and Spotify. In his own words: "Most people at that stage of their careers are trying to reduce risk, not introduce it. They have steady income. They have dependents. In tech, the unspoken assumption is that if you were going to take a big swing, you should have done it already. I decided to swing anyway." The real risk has nothing to do with failure, it's deciding your moment has already passed. Read the full piece in Fortune here 🔗: https://lnkd.in/g3VGKpfG

Peter Thompson shared thisHappy 10th anniversary, #LucidLink! We exist because people believed—even before there was evidence they should. Companies are built by people who take leaps of faith. I don’t take that lightly. Investors who backed a bold idea. Team members who committed their talent and energy. Customers who trusted us early and helped shape the product. There are too many individuals to name, but the shared thread is belief in the vision, and the grit to see it through. A special thank you to George Dochev, my co-founder. I’ll always be grateful that you called me to start this journey together.Peter Thompson shared thisTen years ago, we had a radical idea. What if your data was just... there? Instantly accessible and completely secure from anywhere. Over the years, that idea turned into real momentum and became real infrastructure. Shaped by the teams who saw what was possible, trusted us early and demanded it work flawlessly. 💚 🔗 ☁️ Last year, that journey was recognized with an Engineering, Science & Technology Emmy — recognition that we've changed the way television is made. A decade in, we're grateful for how far we've come, excited for what's next and proud that the problem we set out to solve no longer needs to exist. Peter Thompson shared thisHi everyone — many of you know that I volunteer as an Assistant Scoutmaster with Scouting America Troop 29, sponsored by the Buddhist Church of San Francisco and proudly serving our community since 1932. Each November, our scouts take part in one of our most meaningful traditions: "Scouting for Food". Over two weekends, we first deliver door hangers inviting neighbors to set out canned goods, then return the following weekend to collect them. Last weekend we distributed the hangers, and this coming weekend we’ll be out collecting the donations. All food — and 100% of monetary donations — goes directly to the SF Marin Food Bank, helping local families in need during the holiday season. With the recent lapse in SNAP benefits, the need is greater than ever. If you’d like to support the effort, even a small donation makes a difference. You can give here (minimum $11 due to processing fees and a U.S. billing address requirement): 👉 https://lnkd.in/gXNu-DVv Thank you for helping us make a tangible difference in our community this holiday season!SF-Marin Food Bank: Fund Drives : Scouting for Food - Pack 29 and Troop 29SF-Marin Food Bank: Fund Drives : Scouting for Food - Pack 29 and Troop 29

I’ve spent the week in Sofia for my onboarding at LucidLink, and it’s been a brilliant experience getting to meet the team, dive into the product, and properly settle into my new role as Senior Technical Product Designer, AI. Outside of work, I’ve also had the chance to explore a bit of Sofia, see some of the local sights, experience the atmosphere at a Levski Sofia football match, and today I’m at the European Boxing Championships 🥊 It’s been a great mix of work, culture, sport and getting to know a new city. Really looking forward to the rest of the onboarding at the Sofia office next week. #Sofia #LucidLink #ProductDesign #AI #Onboarding #NewChapter #Bulgaria

Peter Thompson liked thisPeter Thompson liked thisMedia companies don't need another mandate to move content into one place. They need a way to make the content they already have easy to work with, wherever it lives. That's what we're bringing to IBC 2026. LucidLink Connect now lets teams edit media pulled directly from existing storage, with Publish coming soon to send finished work straight back to its source, no extra copy or export needed. Developer Tools bring the Python SDK and MCP Server to general availability this month, opening LucidLink up to developers and AI agents alike. And our new MSP program gives partners a way to deliver and manage LucidLink at scale. Together, they extend LucidLink from the shared filespace teams already work in to a broader platform for distributed data and workflows. See it in action at IBC, September 11–14, Stand 7.C18.
