Rachel Johnson shared thisA magical thing happens when a room full of 180 women spends a whole day together. Rachel Krug, Leah Russo and I built a day just for us: the Pavilion Women's Summit. It was a labor of love, and I'm really proud of what we built. I believe you should always make room at the table for other women. So that's what we did, even the morning of. We even added seats that morning, and more women walked into that room because of it. Thank you to the Pavilion team (especially Rich Gardner) for saying yes. Yes to extra tables. Yes to extra tickets for anyone who wanted in. Yes to widening the circle. Thank you to every speaker who shared their expertise on stage. Rachel Johnson shared thisAnd the morning was going so well. Parking spot right by the shuttle shelter. Starbucks ordered from the shuttle. Aisle seat, grabbed. I was winning at travel. Then, enter the Southwest ticketing agent at the check-in counter, stage left, determined to "help me" by fixing the name on my ticket. (Nothing was broken. Just so we're clear.) When I got on the flight, I noticed I couldn't find my connecting flight, my whole reservation disappeared from my Southwest app. Gone. Just like that. For the record - My ID reads: First: Rachel Middle: Modiano Last: Johnson Panicking, I used my confirmation code to find the reservation and check in. It let me, but something looked off. Rapid Rewards number. Gone. TSA PreCheck number. Also gone. Then I saw why. My ticket now read: Rachel Modiano Modiano Johnson 🤦♀️ WHY?????? Please stop helping!!! That little bit of "help" bought me a full hour in the customer service line at Midway, where they couldn't fix a thing because I'd already flown on the reservation. So now I get the joy of calling Southwest later to see if they'll add these flights to my profile so I actually get credit for them. And since I'm no longer getting updates on my delayed flight (hoping it's not too bad), the agent told me to go sit at the gate and watch the monitors. Old school. So here I sit at Midway, paper ticket in hand, hoping to board in two hours (now more because of the delays). Because I've got places to be. Women's Summit is tomorrow! I need to get to New York to knock out some last-minute details with Leah Russo for tomorrow's Pavilion Women's Summit. I'm so proud of what Leah, Rachel Krug, and I have built together. And it's SOLD OUT. Tonight I get to see Ashley Stamps-Lafont for some fun and theater, and finally meet up with my roomie Shannon Plumb. Plus the Wednesday Women's House alums: Anne Pao, Emma Lo🧋, Leslie Greenwood, Gina P., Kerry Curran, MBA and so many others. Can't wait to see so many friends at GTM tomorrow at the Women's Summit and all week long. So yes, the morning had other plans. I'm still optimistic this week will be great. Buckle up. Rachel Johnson shared thisMonday is one of the biggest days of my year. The Pavilion Women's Summit at #GTM2026 is here, and I'm really proud of the work and the prep our team has put into it. And I get the honor of opening and closing out the day. The best part is I get to do it with a really good friend, Leah Russo. Leah and I met a few years back at a Wednesday Women side event during Pavilion CMO Summit. We clicked right away, and we've kept that friendship going ever since. Earlier this year, I was traveling to Atlanta and needed a place to stay for a night because my family in town was gone. I texted Leah and asked if I could crash with her. Of course she said yes. It also happened to be my birthday weekend. Being away from my family on my birthday wasn't exactly the plan, but Leah made it so special. We had the best time, and I'll never forget how she took care of me that weekend. Doing big things in life is so much easier when you get to do them with friends. I've also had the privilege of getting to know Rachel Krug over the last year. Rachel is such a hard worker, and she has put so much time and energy into this Women's Summit. She handled all of the speaker wrangling and the planning with the Pavilion team, and she is the queen of details, making sure everything about this event is perfect. You'll see her full summit vision come to life on Monday. It's amazing what strong, capable women can pull off when you put them together. If you're joining us on Monday, you're in for a treat. Rachel Johnson shared thisToday I sat on a bench at temple between my daughter, my mom, and my dad, listening to the haunting words of Yom Kippur. It's the holiest day for Jews, and it comes after ten days of awe. The night before, we hear Kol Nidre in our congregation, played on a cello. That melody is haunting and is built to make you think. Then we fast. Sundown to sundown, Kol Nidre to Neilah. No food, no distractions, just focusing on the day. In the morning service, we recite Avinu Malkeinu, the Jewish "I'm sorry prayer," standing together, as a community. That's on purpose. Even if you didn't do everything on the list of sins this year, you don't have to admit you "missed the mark" alone. There's a line in the liturgy stops me every time: "We are not so arrogant and stiff-necked as to say before You, Adonai our God and God of our ancestors, we are perfect and have not sinned. Rather, we confess, we have sinned, we have transgressed." We say it out loud. Together as a community. Like one voice. I missed the mark. That's the part most people won't say at work, in front of clients, to their boss. In front of their spouse or their kids. It's hard to say that you "missed the mark," even though we all make many mistakes every year. Here's the truth: we all miss the mark. We get led astray, at work and at home, usually with the right intentions, until the messiness of life pulls us off course. Sometimes by a little. Sometimes by a lot. But the self-judgment or the judgment from others is the hardest part of missing the mark. What matters isn't whether you drifted (this is inevitable). It's whether you have the right people and the right environment around you to get back on track. Are you missing the mark with malicious intentions, or with a growth mindset? Sometimes missing it means you were innovating. Stretching what's possible. The idea just hadn't had time to marinate yet. Every campaign I've ever run has missed the mark somewhere. Wrong audience, the creative or messaging didn't land, test segment didn't produce relevance, campaign didn't produce an ROI as quickly as we would have hoped - take your pick. I actually say to the companies I work with, "There will be something in this campaign that we get wrong," at the very start of kicking it off. Winning marketing teams can identify what wasn't working, "that one didn't land," and make a pivot, relaunch the campaign, or start a new variant, without making it a referendum on anyone's worth. When things don't go as planned, you have no choice but to move forward. We ask to be inscribed in the Book of Life, a life well lived. From a mindset standpoint, it's that time of year when the Book of Life is sealed, and we get to press on. It's our choice how we want to live. Do we treat every year like a new chapter, full of new possibilities? Or do we wallow in what happened in the past? In my opinion, your new unwritten story is just ahead. Rachel Johnson shared thisVery few people get to work at a unicorn. I got to early in my career. I knew it during my interview at iGoDigital Holdings LLC. I was sitting in a tiny office in Fishers, across from Dan Hanrahan and Eric Tobias, with wide eyes and big dreams. I can admit now, I didn't know much of anything... But if you asked me then, I could take on the world! But I knew this place was special. I just had no idea how special. In October 2012, ExactTarget acquired us. There were 36 of us. 18 months later, Salesforce acquired ExactTarget. Two acquisitions in 18 months. Looking back, it's where I grew the most as a person, a marketer, a woman. I got stretched. I did things for the first time; I worked with amazing marketers on a global, world-class team, and I learned frameworks and skills I still use today. But when I think back on that time, I don't think about the deals or the campaigns we ran. I think about the people. I think about that October morning, when all 36 of us stood in one room and knew everything was about to change. We were in it together. So when Rick Thomas reached out for coffee, I didn't need to think about it. Yes. Of course. It had been years. Probably since one of the last iGo meetups at Union Jack's, where we had lunch every Friday and kept the tradition going long after some of us moved on. We caught up. We asked each other real questions. We leaned on each other like we did back in 2009. I feel so lucky to have these people in my circle. Titles change. Companies get acquired. Even the name on the door changes. The people you built something with are the ones who still call. Build with people you'd always pick up the phone for. Rachel Johnson shared thisLast week I had a situation with my middle daughter that was a real doozy. I didn't Google it. I didn't spiral. I called my cheer mom friend, my go-to gal when things get tough. She knows my girls well and is also a therapist (bonus), so we do this frequently. I told her exactly what was going on. She asked some questions. I asked her opinions and thoughts about the situation. Then I did the hard part — I stopped talking and listened to her advice. That's not a new move for me. It's a system I've built for myself over time. Cassie Young talked about this at last year's Pavilion Women's Summit. She called it a "bat phone" — the trusted, strategic people you call in a crisis, the ones who answer no matter what. She was talking about executives. But I've built the same thing for every facet of my life. I have a Cheer Mom bat phone. A CMO bat phone. A mom friend bat phone. A middle school parent bat phone (A new look for us this year). An elementary school parent bat phone. A nurse bat phone. A fierce female executive bat phone. My Wednesday Women bat phone. My Arcadia Grizzly bat phone. My Pavilion CMO Slack channel bat phone. And the catch-all underneath every single one of them: my mom and my husband. None of these got built in the moment I needed them. They got built years before, one honest conversation at a time, long before I knew which one I'd need to call. My advice: go build yours now. Don't wait until the day you need it. Rachel Johnson shared thisThe best feedback I ever received in my career happened on walks to and from Starbucks. I was working at ExactTarget in downtown Indianapolis. My favorite manager had a ritual. She would ask me if "I wanted to go get coffee." That was the trigger. I knew something was coming. On the walk, she'd tell me, in the moment, where I might have put my foot in my mouth. Where I misstepped. Where I could've said something differently. She did it with care. Never to embarrass me. So I could learn, become better, grow. Then she'd let me sit with it while we got our coffee. On the walk back, she'd let me talk. Feedback first. Then silence. Then response, in that order. Most people don't actually listen when they're being given feedback. They're building a defense, drafting an explanation, rehearsing what they'll say next. That's not receiving feedback. That's managing the moment. What those walks taught me, and what I still operate by: - Understand before you respond. It's not your job to react in real time. Your job is to understand where the other person is coming from. What you do with it comes after, not during. - Hearing someone out isn't the same as agreeing with them. You can take in feedback completely without owing anyone a rebuttal. - Build in space. Even a ten-minute walk changes how something lands, and how well you can actually use it. - Weigh the source, don't dismiss it. Feedback from your boss, a peer, or someone on your team all carries different context. That should inform how you apply it, not whether you take it seriously. The leaders who grow fastest aren't the ones with the best rebuttal. They're the ones humble enough to sit in the silence, take the feedback in, and let it actually change them. #FCMO #Leadership #Feedback #Growth

Rachel Johnson reacted on thisRachel Johnson reacted on thisTwo years ago I stood on the Pavilion GTM main stage in Austin and introduced 1mind to a room full of GTM operators for the first time. It was a clunky, glitchy experience. I did my best to paint a picture of what the very near future would look like: a system that could surpass human limits on capacity, time, and recall, while still solving problems, showing empathy, and delivering a more delightful buying experience. Today that vision is a reality, and it feels like a full circle moment. I don't measure success by how much money we raise, ARR, or even NDR. I measure it in how customers feel and the value they can point to. I didn't know back in Austin that these GTM leaders inside the Pavilion community would become our earliest and loudest believers. I'm so thankful to see our customers show up and vocally share their wins, unprompted, simply because the product works for them. Every founder dreams of building something valuable, then knowing when to get out of the way. So today I'm incredibly proud to share that we opened our last round for an off-cycle strategic investment from Pavilion Ventures, through their partnership with FOG Ventures. People throw around the word "strategic" a lot. Here's what it actually means to us: Pavilion brings the GTM community itself onto our cap table, the actual operators who buy, deploy, and live inside tools like ours every day, now formally invested in our success. Having Pavilion on our cap table is validation from the community we built this company for, and a responsibility I take seriously. I'll be joining Sam Jacobs on stage at GTM in New York in two weeks to celebrate the partnership and share what's next. If you're a GTM operator, this is your community too. How did they end up here? We are not very sure either but one thing is 100% sure they are all very resilient They survived the SaaSpocalypse. They survived all the "trust me, it'll be fun" trips around the world I've dragged them on They survived my jokes (though some of them are still recovering) but probably the thing I’m most proudest of is that they’ve learned to work with humans who’s ideas of “on time”, “direct feedback” and “spicy “ is completely different than theirs gettimg 37 countries to work like a team is harder than anything we’ve done we’re all flying off to a remote island (we take remote very seriously here)- wish us luck

I am never too busy for referrals. Referrals are gold. It reflects a much bigger convo I've had many this year because I have had some massive wins in the past months. ✨ Opening for Tony Robbins. ✨ Becoming a USA Today bestseller. ✨ Pulling some big stages and big logos. And yes those are all amazing milestones and achievements, but also I NEED REVENUE Y'ALL (and almost none of that shizzzz pays) so please know that I cherish and appreciate every single intro you make, lead you send and post/slack message you tag me in. My funnel replies on inbound & referrals and while it's really nice that everybody assumes I am famous and fully booked, a few big Ws doesn't = 100% to revenue goals. At least it doesn't for me. So I guess I'll be vulnerable, blunt, honest .... whatever you wanna label it. 👉 I run a business that still requires me to build pipeline, have intro meetings with prospects, win some deals and lose some deals. ***This is especially true for sales training and SKOs which are not recurring revenue gigs but are a core revenue stream.*** THANK YOU to everybody who says my name in rooms I am not in and tags me into convos and makes intro for me - perhaps you did not realize how much that has meant to me and my business. I had the honor and privilege of traveling with White Hat Industrial to Jaco, Costa Rica, on two humanitarian-based mission trips to help restore lives in communities abroad. White Hat's mission is to restore, by restoring, roofs, lives, and the world.
My role was to document the trip from a first-hand perspective through photos and videos to enable White Hat to share these assets on its website and as part of its social media strategy. It was truly a moving experience to be able to experience this from both a marketing and human perspective. -
