It is written in Rust, uses under 5MB of RAM, ships as a ~3.4MB static binary, starts in under 10ms on a 0.8GHz core, and can run on 10 dollar hardware. The repo is already at 6.2k stars, 600 forks, and growing fast. The field is moving incredibly fast. The best way to stay up to date is by building and being part of a community of builders. For me, Star Trek was more than entertainment — it inspired a lifelong passion for technological innovation. Rich Miner liked thisWhat an incredible day! Yesterday, the ClimateTech Incubator was proud to be a sponsor of the 4th Annual ClimateWork Maine Summit here in Portland. This year's theme said it all: it's not just about taking climate action — it's about owning that action. The room was filled with corporations, startups, policy makers, NGOs, and other leaders bringing a range of valuable perspectives to the conversation. We were joined by several of our CTI startups, including ATLAS, Buttercup, Bluesonde, Enodia Inc., Fable Forestry, HydroPhos Solutions, Renoster, Solen Works, Therm, and THOLA. A huge congrats to our member company, Bluesonde, for taking home the Climate Innovation Award! This recognition is so well-deserved, and we couldn't be prouder to have them in our incubator. The last few months have been extraordinary: we built Dreamer, put the beta in the world just a month ago, and saw magic come to life for real people. Since then, thousands of people have used Dreamer to build personal, intelligent software with our Sidekick in the world’s newest and most popular programming language: English! They're building and sharing agents to manage email, calendar, and to-do’s, create learning tools for their kids, learn new languages, plan trips with friends, become better cooks, help them with work, achieve their health goals, or simply to creatively express themselves—all sorts of surprising and uniquely personal needs. These are agents as unique as the people building them, because they're built exactly the way each person wants them to be. We’ve captured some of our favorites at https://lnkd.in/gz8ZMxK2. What matters most here isn’t the early momentum; it’s what Dreamer has enabled people to do. People are building things they’ve wanted for years. It was the fact that building software is out of reach for most people. This early chapter gives us conviction that the idea resonates, the need is real, and the moment is now. Looking forward to more of these! #RouxInstitute #ClimateTechIncubator #ClimateTech #MaineGreenSchools #ClimateAction #K12Education #MaineRich Miner liked thisLast week, I facilitated a workshop with a remarkable group of educators, school administrators, facilities professionals, nonprofit leaders, and clean energy industry representatives gathered at Northeastern University's Roux Institute in Portland for a three-hour working session on one question: how do we build practical sustainability action plans for Maine schools — and make them stick? Here is what we learned: 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗴𝗮𝗽 𝗶𝘀 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗹. Only about 4% of U.S. school districts have a formal climate or sustainability policy on the books. With the average Maine superintendent tenure at just 4.1 years, progress is regularly lost when leadership changes. A written, measurable plan is the single most important tool for creating continuity. 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗼𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗶𝘀 𝗿𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗶𝗻 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗻𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝘂𝘀. Maine schools have more resources, more support, and more momentum than most districts realize — from some state supported consulting services, to the newly released Maine Community Action Grants (https://lnkd.in/eyqK3CMz) (up to $175K for district consortiums), to Efficiency Maine decarbonization planning incentives. 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗽𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲, 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗯𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀. The most consistent theme of the day: the path to sustainable facilities runs through student engagement, community buy-in, and teacher empowerment — not the other way around. 𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗮𝗯𝗼𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗶𝘀 𝗮 𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗰𝗲 𝗺𝘂𝗹𝘁𝗶𝗽𝗹𝗶𝗲𝗿. Hearing from RSU 1 and Mount Desert Island teachers who built full climate action policies by adapting existing templates and supporting each other monthly on Zoom — this is what scalable progress looks like. This was our first regional roundtable and we hope to provide more in an effort to accelerate the adoption of Sustainability Action Plans for Maine Schools. Seasoned engineers keep telling her it's not possible. Investors are reluctant to fund it. I've watched this exact movie four times - the Internet was a toy, web software didn't work, the cloud wasn't safe, and mobile would never replace a computer. Steve Ballmer literally laughed at the iPhone on camera. Every time, both camps were wrong. The new thing doesn't replace the old thing. The old thing doesn't survive unchanged.
