How Doers Get More Done, Sustainably:
#DepartmentofEnergy Secretary
Jennifer Granholm met with
#HomeDepot Chief Sustainability Officer
Ron Jarvis as part of her Road Show through the Battery Belt to highlight the innovative products that save customers money and increase energy efficiency.
⚡️💚💵My big takeaway: Upgrading to energy efficient products like water heaters, windows, insulation, AC and furnaces, while taking advantage of tax credits, makes our customers’ homes and workplaces more efficient and keeps more money in their pockets.
ICYMI: Just last week,
The Home Depot announced that we expect nearly 85% of our sales in outdoor power equipment in the U.S. and Canada to run on 🔋rechargeable battery technology by the end of fiscal year 2028. Working alongside
#innovative suppliers like Ryobi,
Milwaukee Tool,
Makita U.S.A., Inc., and
DEWALT,
#THD is leading the charge in home improvement to help our customers create sustainable spaces with less noise, less maintenance, and the same power we expect from gas-powered equipment. This transition will reduce over 2,000,000 metric tons of
#greenhousegases annually from exhaust pipes of residential lawn equipment.
I was surprised to learn: running a gas leaf blower for an hour equals a 1,100 mile drive from Los Angeles to Denver. 🤯
🤩Many Thanks: Special thanks to Store Manager
Jason Brehm for hosting the event and Store Manager
Mark Cox for coordinating the presentation of the perfect
#cleanenergy apron for the Secretary.
