Today, AHLA's Resort Committee took to Capitol Hill to tell lawmakers that the H-2B visa program is essential to ensuring they have the staffing they need to provide exceptional service, as we get set to celebrate American 250 and the World Cup. This critical, legal guest worker program addresses staffing issues for seasonal employment needs, especially as many properties are in rural parts of the country. I am continuously impressed by our Resort Committee members for their dedication to advocating for our industry. Their efforts were critical to the release of 64,000 supplemental H-2B visas - a huge win for hotels. We also spoke to lawmakers about the need to restore funding to Brand USA, and delaying the implementation of the Visa Integrity fee, to ensure ease of travel for visitors coming here. Thanks to all our members who came from California, Maine, Florida, Georgia and so many other states to engage in advocacy. We appreciate you!

Our mission was to help students earn scholarships who were studying hospitality and looking to make a career in the industry. We raised funds by hosting annual fundraising campaigns, recruiting senior leaders in the industry to mentor the students and work with various universities to promote our scholarship program.

I assembled a group of leaders that comprised of marketing, culinary, member experience, membership and event sales and we created a new identity for the division with the goal of attracting new members as well as keeping current members interested and engaged.
