Ryan Newcom reacted on thisRyan Newcom reacted on thisA very special night in NYC celebrating one of the good guys. Congratulations to Brandon Ng for being recognized as one of the Outstanding 50 Asian Americans in Business by the Asian American Business Development Center. He was the youngest honoree - he's done more in just 11 years at Houlihan Lokey than many accomplish in their entire career. When not closing marquee deals, he's lifting up entrepreneurs, making meaningful connections, and providing wise beyond his years advice. I'm so glad that I could be there to cheer him on!

Whether you're team minty-fresh or team coconut-chocolate-almond (no judgment if you grab both), these bars deliver clean, simple ingredients and protein that fits into real life. Head to your local Meijer and look for the ALOHA 5-packs in the nutrition bar aisle. #ALOHA #PlantBased #Meijer #HealthySnacking #USDAOrganic

Ryan Newcom reacted on thisRyan Newcom reacted on thisBig news to share: our CEO Brad Charron was just named to Nosh.com's inaugural Impact 50 list, recognized in the "Transformers" category for what they're calling "The Re-Founder Playbook." When Brad took over ALOHA in 2017, the company was struggling. Today we're profitable, employee-owned, and doing $200M+ in annual sales, all while staying true to the mission that built the brand in the first place. B Lab Certified. The Change Climate Project Climate Neutral. Proof that purpose and profitability aren't opposing forces. Congrats, Brad - well deserved. 🤙 Read the full list: https://lnkd.in/g3iu69y9 #nosh #cpg #award

Ryan Newcom reacted on thisRyan Newcom reacted on thisA few years ago ALOHA didn't have "a breath of oxygen left in it." Dead on the vine. So to be named an EY Entrepreneur Of The Year® 2026 New York award winner is not lost on me for a single second. Let me be clear about something because it matters: I didn't win this. WE did. The EY award criteria goes to founders, transformational CEOs and family business leaders building long-term value. I'm proud to be counted among them, and prouder still of this Aloha company that earned it in the most arduous of conditions, in one of the toughest categories to break through - where the advantage is with the incumbent, the scaled, the legacy & established. It's a radical idea that an employee-owned, Certified B Lab, 100% #USDAOrganic crew that bet on themselves, each other, and on the altruistic belief you can grow profit and purpose at the same time. No fillers. No compromises. No confusing labels. Just real food and real people doing real work. I've said before that the moment you think you've "made it" is the moment you put yourself in a position to be beaten. So, I'll take the trophy, raise a glass, and, now 36 hours removed from the ceremony, get right back into the day-to-day weeds of the business. While big corporations can "out-scale us", it is hard for them to "out-passion us." Mahalo to Ernst & Young New York, the program sponsors including Marsh Risk, to the judges, to this incredible peer group of New York and Connecticut entrepreneurs, to my original angel investors who backed me in "re-founding" the company when they had absolutely no legitimate, rational reason to do so (Alexander Rittweger Stanislaus Sayn-Wittgenstein Angelo Moratti ECP Growth Steve Luttrell Prof. Dr. h.c. Roland Berger ), and finally to our friends on the islands including Kupu, Mana Up and every Hawaiian brand we interact with where we endeavor to share the spirit of aloha with everyone at all times. We believe in kuleana! To my team: this one's not mine, it's yours. 🌱 #EOYUS #EOYNY #Entrepreneur #CPG #FoodandBeverage

Ryan Newcom reacted on thisI am humbled and honored to be stepping into this new chapter as the CEO of Back to Nature. I could not be prouder of this team and the incredible brand they've created; the last 3 years of building this business together has been an absolute highlight of my career, but I know the best is yet to come for us! We're going to continue to do amazing work together and I'm beyond grateful for the support and excitement this crew has shared with me. And a special thank you to Jennifer Jorgensen, who captained this ship through so much change and excitement, with the vision, clarity and energy we needed. We are all better for having worked with you and I'm especially grateful for your mentorship and friendship. I can't wait to see you crush it in your next adventure – they are so lucky!Ryan Newcom reacted on thisBig news from HQ: Jessica McDonald, our fearless Head of Finance and Chief of Staff, has been named our new CEO! 🎉 Jessica has been with Back to Nature since we began building our all-new team in 2023, and we can't think of a more qualified leader to carry the torch… or snack board. In addition to financial and people expertise (duh), she's got a wealth of experience in Strategy, Sales, Marketing, Operations and Supply Chain, so basically, she can do it all. We're lucky. We're sending allll the good vibes to Jennifer Jorgensen in her new role, and endless gratitude for building such a solid foundation these past three years. Cheers! 🥂

Ryan Newcom liked thisRyan Newcom liked thisI’m excited to share that I’ve started a new chapter as Vice President of Sales, National Accounts at Lewis Bakeries. With over 100 years of history and a strong foundation in the industry, Lewis Bakeries is a company with incredible momentum—and even more opportunity ahead. I’m honored to join a talented team of industry veterans and emerging leaders as we continue to build and grow the business. What stood out to me immediately was the combination of ambition, culture, and commitment to winning. After my first few days, it’s clear this is a team that’s not just maintaining a legacy—but actively shaping what’s next. I’m energized to get started—learning the business, building relationships, and helping move the needle forward in meaningful ways. To those who supported me throughout this transition—through conversations, advice, and encouragement—thank you. Your impact meant more than I can fully put into words. And for those in the retail space—if you don’t see Lewis Bakeries in your store today… we’re working on it.

In a challenged beverage alcohol landscape, one category continues to outperform and grab the headlines (see Diageo's recent capital markets day or news on Sazerac Company and Au Vodka) and that's ready-to-drink (RTD). Over the past decade, RTDs have outpaced every other segment globally, and in North America, the gap is nearly 2x. However, winning in RTDs requires a fundamentally different operating model and approach than other beverage categories. Our AlixPartners quick-take on what that looks like is below. https://lnkd.in/eh_sxzZc Big thanks to Michael Bronstein, Dave McCarthy, Gabriel Sirigni Rosa for their contributions.

Founders Troy Bonde and Winston Alfieri prove that market opportunity can appear anywhere—even from pandemic-era frustration. They shifted from sanitizer to pasta sauce, identifying a gap in the $2.5 billion market for young shoppers seeking non-traditional flavors like miso-garlic. Sauz has raised nearly $22 million and is rapidly succeeding, projecting over $10 million in revenue by the end of 2025, with distribution in 8,000 locations. January always reveals the same pattern in blue economy and food systems work. Significant capital is allocated with good intent, but weak sequencing. The most costly failures I’ve seen aren’t driven by technology gaps or lack of funding - they come from misreading local context, incentives, and timelines. This year, I’m particularly interested in how institutions are rethinking program design to reduce downstream risk rather than accelerate deployment. Curious what others are seeing. #blueeconomy #foodsystems
