Ryan Rodenbaugh shared thisCurated onchain markets have grown faster than our ability to define and measure them. This report grew out of dozens of conversations with curators, protocols, allocators, and integrators about how to bring greater legibility to the market. Read the full report here: https://lnkd.in/gFt8Nju8 This framework will need continued refinement. These products remain difficult to compare, the boundaries of curation are still unsettled, and the market continues to change quickly. I was also pleased by how quickly we could turn vaults.fyi API data into reproducible charts (with, of course, the help of LLMs). A few findings: • The report maps $11.29B across 856 vaults, 131 curators and 18 protocols. • Curated TVL grew 39% while supply-side DeFi TVL fell 41.8%. Its market share rose from 5.24% to 12.51%. • Five curators manage 69.3% of curated TVL. The top ten manage 79.1%. • Bitcoin-backed assets account for 54.1% of the $3.71B held by Morpho’s 25 largest curated stablecoin vaults.Ryan Rodenbaugh shared thisToday we published The State of DeFi Curation 2026, an in-depth analysis of curated onchain markets and how they should be defined and measured. Built entirely on vaults.fyi API data, this first-of-its-kind report maps $11.29B across 856 vaults, 131 curators and 18 protocols. Read the full report: https://lnkd.in/giWqVQ6B

Ryan Rodenbaugh reposted thisRyan Rodenbaugh reposted thisApps built on Openfort embedded wallets can now offer DeFi yield to their users! We worked with Openfort on a recipe for their developers that pairs an Openfort embedded wallet with the vaults.fyi API. A user can see vaults ranked by APY, deposit in a couple of taps, track their positions, and claim rewards, all inside the app they already signed into. No seed phrase, no separate DeFi site. The deposit routes straight to the canonical protocol contract. No wrapper, no added fee. The position is identical to one held by interacting with Morpho, Sky, or Aave directly. For the app team it is one integration across 80+ protocols. The same API also lets the app earn on the deposits it routes. https://lnkd.in/eWuhPJVr

Ryan Rodenbaugh reposted thisRyan Rodenbaugh reposted thisvaults.fyi is now the core infrastructure partner powering Earn in the Arbitrum Portal. Arbitrum is one of the largest Ethereum Layer 2 ecosystems. The Portal is where users navigate the network, bridge funds, and find applications. Earn is the new tab where they discover and access DeFi yield, and vaults.fyi powers the data, transactions, and portfolio tracking underneath it. The Arbitrum and Offchain Labs teams have been great to build with. Earn is the first step. We're continuing the work across the broader Arbitrum and Orbit ecosystems. Ryan Rodenbaugh reposted thisRyan Rodenbaugh reposted thisSeven new vaults.fyi yield skills are now live in the Zerion CLI. By connecting the vaults.fyi MCP into Zerion’s CLI, agents can research yields, audit lending positions, deposit, rebalance, and monitor risk in one workflow, with the data and execution context they need along the way. Onchain earning and automated rebalancing are exactly the kinds of workflows agents should make simple. This integration is a meaningful step in that direction. Read more: https://lnkd.in/e7VXfbdp

Ryan Rodenbaugh shared thisReally enjoyed my conversation with Octave Mesnard of Jumper Exchange on the latest episode of the podcast! I've had the pleasure of knowing him for a few years now and it was great to explore Jumper's evolution from a cross-chain swap tool into a full on-chain consumer hub, the lessons from his earlier company Kook Exchange, and his contrarian views on the multi-chain future. Ryan Rodenbaugh reacted on thisThe Acctual team is joining Altitude! Building Acctual with Momo M., Issa Hassan and our team has meant a lot to me. We put a lot of ourselves into the brand and the product, down to the little details of sending an invoice. Seeing businesses in over 100 countries use something we made together is something I don’t think we imagined when we started. We’ve learned so much from those businesses. Getting paid is connected to everything else they need to do with their money, and there’s still a lot we want to build. We chose Altitude because we’ve known their team for a long time and they share our obsession for craft and quality. That’s hard to maintain when you’re building accounts, cards, payments and everything around them. But businesses shouldn’t have to pick which part gets to be good. We’re bringing our years of work on invoicing and bill pay into that. I’m proud of what we’ve built and excited we get to keep building together with people who care just as much. Thank you to everyone who’s trusted Acctual with their business, backed us or shared our work along the way. You’ve been a big part of this.Ryan Rodenbaugh reacted on thisAcctual is joining @Altitude. We’re proud of the invoicing product we’ve built. We’re joining Altitude to give you more of the tools your business needs, built with the same care. They’ve made it easy to pay vendors, cover business expenses and keep track of your money. Together, we can help you do more in one place without giving up what made you choose Acctual. We’ll keep making invoicing better at Altitude. Invoicing and bill pay stay free. Ryan Rodenbaugh reacted on thisRyan Rodenbaugh reacted on thismany of you know this is a painful time of year for me—my father, William R. Raub, worked on the 104th floor of the north tower as an equity salesman for cantor and was killed on 9/11. he had gotten food poisoning when we went out to eat that sunday after my little brother’s christening, stayed home from work on monday the 10th, and only planned on working a half day on the 11th since he was still under the weather but had an important client meeting that morning. although i was only 6 and a half years old at the time, i have many memories of my dad (and of course of that day and its aftermath). he was the happiest guy and he loved our family so, so much. i always knew he worked hard, but he was also home for dinner with us every night. i miss him like crazy and think about him every single day. for all of my sadness and grief about losing him, still i can’t help but feel joy when i think about our memories together. every single one of them is happy and i couldn’t feel more lucky or more proud to be his daughter. of course while 9/11 has an incredibly heavy personal meaning for me and so many others who lost loved ones, it was also so much bigger than that. it wasn’t until i started my career that i heard about the experiences of some of my colleagues who were on site at the NY Fed that day, or about the overall actions the Federal Reserve System took in the immediate aftermath of 9/11 to support the functioning of the U.S. financial system (see link in comments below). in the 9/11 museum, there is footage from the NY Fed’s security cameras showing people running down Maiden Lane, fleeing as the towers collapsed. for me, almost bizarrely, it is one of the most harrowing parts of the museum—because i know that at the same time, on the same floor where i now sit and work, many Fed staff were still at their desks conducting operations or gathering market intelligence to inform the policy response. i have always felt immense gratitude for the courage of the first responders and other ordinary people who stepped forward that day—and i very much consider the folks involved in the Fed’s response among this group. this is another reason that i feel lucky and proud, in spite of the grief and sadness, when i think about 9/11. there is so much more that could be said but i will leave it here. ❤️🇺🇸

Ryan Rodenbaugh reacted on thisRyan Rodenbaugh reacted on thisThe new FAQs from the financial regulators on verifiable digital credentials (VDCs) are a major win for digital identity and deserve extra attention, so I'm following up on my earlier post. For decades, proving who you are to an FI has meant handing over the same documents, again and again, at every new account. This week's FAQs make clear there's a better way: with the right verification behind them, VDCs can be used to cryptographically confirm a customer's identity. Proof has been building out this vision for years: a world where you prove your identity once and carry it with you, and where an institution can confirm it in seconds instead of collecting one more copy of your documents to be stolen later. Less fraud, more privacy, less friction for everyone. We appreciate the regulators for shining a light on that vision. Over the last year, we have shared this story with anyone that would listen: into every rulemaking that touched the question, across the table from FinCEN and Treasury, and up to the Hill. Seeing it land in the agencies' own FAQs is as rewarding as this job gets. I'm especially grateful to the partners who joined us in these efforts: Jai Massari, Kay Chopard and the Kantara Initiative, Jeremy Grant and the Better Identity Coalition, Amit Sharma, IDEMIA Public Security, Will Wilkinson and Persona. Ryan Rodenbaugh reacted on thisRyan Rodenbaugh reacted on thisI gave myself until the autumn to find the next thing. It took three weeks. I'm joining Safe as Commercial Lead for Safe Wallet, and I couldn't be more excited for this opportunity! Safe has been part of Ethereum almost from the start. If you've ever held funds onchain with more than one signer, you've probably touched it. DAO treasuries, protocols, foundations, asset managers, and funds. It became the default without ever needing to sell itself, which is the rarest thing a product can pull off. What I get to do now is build the commercial side of that. Work with the teams whose treasuries already live in Safe, learn what they need next, and turn it into something worth paying for. I've spent five years selling early products into rooms that had every reason to be skeptical. This is the first time I get to start from trust that already exists, on a product I'd recommend even if I didn't work there. Thank you to Rahul and Jacob for the trust. Safe is making real decisions right now about what it becomes commercially, and choosing to give that to someone from outside, at that exact moment, takes a specific kind of nerve. I don't intend to waste it, and I can't wait to get going. And thank you to Christophe, my former boss and mentor, who made one introduction. That's all it took. And it meant the world to me. Last thing, and it's the one I actually care about. If you use Safe, I want to hear how. Which workflow it sits in. What you've had to build around it. What still annoys you every single month. Not a sales call. I'd rather learn this from the people already living in the product than from a strategy doc. My DMs are open. They were last month too, and that worked out.

Understanding the Effect of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning on Investing
For honors credit in a course (FIN 421), our professor offered us the opportunity to write a paper on a topic of our choosing, permitting it related to investing. Around this same time, I had just begun reading a lot on the topic of AI specifically as it related to finance. I decided to use this opportunity to write out a few pages on what I observed and ultimately, what I predicted the effect of AI would be on finance/economics moving forward.

In Defense of High Prices for Cancer Drugs: A Study on why Cancer Drug Prices Remain so High
As a final project for an honors course on the politics and policy of cancer, I researched the justification for high pricing in cancer medication. I argued in defense of high prices in cancer medication from both a financial and policy perspective with a number of assumptions based on the work of Joseph DiMasi at Tufts University. In doing this project, I was able to construct a NPV and rNPV analysis of Roche’s Avastin gaining a strong understanding of risk-adjusted NPV along the way.

Before I became a VC, I was a founder six times. Those experiences permanently changed the way I think about venture capital. A check can accelerate a company. It cannot replace customers, judgment, technical expertise, recruiting, and perseverance. Or, perhaps most importantly, someone willing to tell a founder hard truths when the easy answers are wrong. I’ve also come to believe something else: Capital is necessary. It is nowhere close to sufficient. Good VCs help you close your next round. Great VCs help you build a lasting business from scratch. I’m grateful to the National Venture Capital Association and Jessica W. for featuring our story and giving me the opportunity to talk about what Cortado Ventures is building across the U.S. Midcontinent. There is extraordinary innovation happening in aerospace & defense, energy, healthcare, manufacturing, mobility, logistics, space and other critical industries. In this era of rapid change, we believe that proximity will matter even more. And this is just the beginning. #VentureCapital #FrontierTech #Midcontinent

Second-time YC founders don't fail by repeating old mistakes. They fail by overcorrecting for them so hard they create new ones. Quang Hoang did YC twice… Plato in 2016, then came back with Vybe in 2025 Same accelerator… Completely different eras… In this episode of The Lobster Talks, we break down: - How YC evolved - Why batch size changes founder dynamics - What second-time founders still underestimate - And how AI shifts the playbook If you’re considering applying to YC, or investing in YC companies, this is the real picture. 🔗 Link in the comment section

Great overview of the Florida VC ecosystem 👇 What stands out is not just the ~$2.85B raised, but how distributed and specialized each region is becoming. • South Florida → crypto, fintech, LatAm access • Tampa Bay → strong early-stage pipeline • Orlando/Space Coast → deep tech, defense, space • North Florida → emerging operator-led funds Tax advantages help, but the real story is growing density of founders, angels, and operators building locally. Still early compared to SF and NY, which is the opportunity. Who are the next Florida-based funds or angels getting active?

The next big AI infrastructure opportunity may not be another model, it may be the layer that sits between the models and the enterprise... ...or so that can be gleaned from the conversation I had with Camber Creek portfolio company founder & CEO David Potts on the latest Catalyst podcast (link in comments). David’s story is particularly interesting because CloudQix wasn’t dreamed up as an AI startup. It emerged from a problem he was solving at SalesWarp (also a Camber Creek portfolio company) for years: getting disparate enterprise systems to actually talk to each other. Then something changed: as AI adoption accelerated, that integration layer became even more important. Enterprises now have more models, agents, data sources and applications than ever but they also have more questions around security, identity, governance, observability and compliance. And in regulated industries, “just connect it” isn’t good enough. One point David made really stuck with me: AI can generate the connection. It can’t necessarily deploy it securely, govern it, manage identity and secrets, provide observability, or create the audit trail. That distinction is going to matter a lot. CloudQix is starting with wealth management and RIAs, where the need is particularly acute. The goal isn't to replace the systems advisors already use. It's to connect them and put a governed AI layer across the workflow. A simple example: client onboarding can require pulling together documents, custodial data, CRM information and notes from multiple systems. CloudQix can bring that information together, use AI to process it, identify missing information and surface recommendations, all while keeping a human in the loop for approval. The result isn't just “AI productivity.” It's a new operating layer for how regulated businesses actually use AI. The models may be the headline. But the pipes, controls and governance underneath them could be where a lot of the enterprise value gets created. Great conversation with David; worth a listen if you're thinking about what the AI infrastructure stack looks like beyond the model layer. #podcast #venturecapital #AI #infrastructure
