Sherice Lane shared thisSherice Lane shared thisToday marks 15 years since NetSuite went public on the NYSE. This picture proudly hangs in our Redwood Shores office to remind us how much this organization has accomplished and how much opportunity we still have ahead of us. While some things have changed - a new logo, an Oracle acquisition, and a few tens of thousands more customers and employees, we’ve never lost sight of our vision: With unified information, NetSuite helps every business achieve THEIR vision. Very grateful.

Sherice Lane shared thisSherice Lane shared thisThis past weekend, I had the opportunity to unwind at this beautiful home near Joshua Tree, CA and reflect on life and what I’m thankful for. Since joining OpenText 1 1/2 years ago, I’ve had more opportunities to enjoy my hobbies and interests (including photography), spend time with family and friends, and focus on a healthier lifestyle. Our CEO Mark J. Barrenechea is constantly reminding us to make this a focus. As a result, I come to work every day rejuvenated and ready to tackle the week. I’m truly thankful for that. Below is a photo of my weekend getaway in #joshuatree and a photograph I took of the milky way! ❤ 🌟 I would love for you to share a photo of what you are thankful for and what brings you joy! #teamopentext #talentacquisition #opentext #thankful

Sherice Lane liked thisSherice Lane liked thisA few years ago Define Ventures asked payers and providers if they believed in AI. This year we asked what and how they're buying. We surveyed and sat down with senior leaders across payer and provider organizations — 80% VP and above. What stood out: - 69% of payers and 75% of providers call AI an immediate enterprise priority. The appetite is there. - Payers expecting AI budgets to ‘increase significantly’ went from 6% to 31%. The budget is there. - 54% of payers have shifted toward buying over building, even with AI lowering the cost to build. - 92% of payers and 96% of providers are open to redesigning workflows. The desire for execution is there. - 83% of payers and 65% of providers need measurable ROI inside 12 months. ROI decides who wins. For founders: the window to partner is wide open, and buyers want someone with a point of view on the workflow, not just the model. Full report in the comments. 👇

Sherice Lane liked thisSherice Lane liked thisOn a personal note… My oldest daughter moved into her own apartment on campus, so we’re redoing her old room. My wife said she couldn’t do it. She took this picture and left me in there by myself. First, I patched hole after hole from all the posters and artwork she had hung over the years... Cartoons when she was little, then ponies and eventually bands I didn’t like. After that, it took five coats to cover the pink and baby blue striped walls. Every hole patched reminded me of a different version of my little girl. You raise them to grow up, become independent and go out into the real world. Then they do exactly that, and it’s harder than you thought it would be. I never thought I’d miss those pink and blue walls.

Sherice Lane liked thisSherice Lane liked thisEver since YouTube revealed it was changing how it measures views, I’ve gotten countless texts and emails from people in the industry. Many of them are freaked out. Or angry. Or both. I’ve been telling them all the same thing: YouTube just did us a huge favor. I won’t lie. YouTube’s announcement felt like a kick in the pants. It’s going to cause headaches for everyone putting their shows on the platform. Their numbers are going to get dumped upside down, in real time. And their definition of success is going to have to be recalibrated. It’s frustrating. But what really stung was the timing. YouTube’s announcement came barely a month after Oxford Road and several partners unveiled the AMP Accords. We spent more than a year developing those accords, working with companies from across the industry. In the end, we emerged with a series of frameworks that brought us closer to something this industry desperately needs: A clear and accurate set of measurement standards for podcasting. YouTube’s announcement feels like a step back from that goal. It’s caused a lot of people I know to throw their hands up and say, “Screw this. All hope is lost, because the big players are never going to get on board.” But I think they’re missing the silver lining here. What YouTube just did was remind everyone—creators, publishers, the IAB—exactly why AMP was created in the first place. By introducing a fresh load of chaos and confusion into the marketplace, they’re inadvertently proving exactly why we need across-the-board standardized metrics. YouTube’s decision was the best advertisement for AMP I could have asked for…and we didn’t even have to pay for it! One of the key assumptions behind the AMP Accords, as well as our work with the Alliance for Measurement in Podcasting, is that the leading players (YouTube, Spotify, Apple) will inevitably do what they want with whatever metrics they want. And, for our purposes, that’s actually fine. All we ask is that these companies also create an additional metric for consumption that sits alongside everything else they want to report—a metric that’s available for consistent measurement of content, across multiple channels. They can keep using whatever proprietary methods they want, so long as they throw in an extra that works across the market for situations like those AMP was created to address. If they do that, everyone wins. And to those who’ve been sharing their concerns, I say: Don’t sweat this. We're gonna win the war, and we're gonna get standard metrics. And this is a really good example of why we need them.

Sherice Lane liked thisSherice Lane liked thisPrivate markets have become much more accessible. That's good. But access alone isn't an advantage. I can put 20 investment opportunities in front of someone tomorrow. That doesn't mean they should invest in any of them. The real skill is learning how to evaluate: The sponsor. The structure. The assumptions. The leverage. The fees. The alignment. The downside. And perhaps most importantly: Whether the investment actually belongs in your portfolio. A good deal can still be the wrong investment for you. This is why I think investor education matters so much. We don't need more people blindly chasing “passive income.” We need more investors who ask thoughtful questions before wiring money. Access is easy. Discernment is valuable. If that sounds like a conversation you want to be part of, send me a message.

"'AI makes HCM more important,' said ADP president and CEO Maria Black. ‘While AI excels at prediction and efficiency, it can't execute critical high-stakes HCM functions with a level of accuracy and consistency required. Because at the end of the day, payroll isn't a software function, it's a commitment to the people who showed up and did the work and there is no room for error.'"
