Which is why the material has to be in place first. Mercuria is proud to be an anchor partner in VaultCo, a strategic critical minerals reserve developed with the Export-Import Bank of the United States. It's built to hold critical minerals on U.S. soil, available to American manufacturers when supply tightens. We'll contribute capital alongside our global trading, logistics, storage and risk management capabilities. Learn more: https://bit.ly/3T4pZLs #CriticalMinerals #SupplyChain

Steven Bunkin reacted on thisSteven Bunkin reacted on thisFive years ago today, in the middle of the pandemic and in a leap of faith, I took off from a rainswept Heathrow Airport en route to Abu Dhabi to join ADNOC Trading — having never previously visited Abu Dhabi! Since then, it has been quite a journey: helping build a global energy trading business, navigating geopolitical challenges and major market disruption, and building a strong, talented and resilient Legal, Compliance and Governance team. 5 years on I can honestly say that my life out here in the UAE has been amazing and has exceeded all expectations, full of amazing new discoveries and experiences. I am also deeply grateful for the warm hospitality shown to me by my Emirati friends and colleagues. Finally, I’m immensely proud of what my team has achieved and I am excited for what comes next.

As I told my colleagues, it’s hard to imagine that I won’t be going through the turnstile at 200 West every day. I leave very proud of the litigation team we built at the firm, which I know will continue to be the gold standard on Wall Street. More than anything, though, the people at Goldman are extraordinary, and I’m grateful for the friendships and professional relationships I made during my tenure there. Starting Monday, I’ll be joining TWG Global as its Chief Legal Officer.

Every year we publish the McDermott Will & Schulte Private Markets Update. This year I was given the opportunity to look ahead to what major trends I expect to drive M&A in 2026, ranging from continued strategic portfolio allocation to companies seeking to shorten global supply chains to "all that is old is new again" types of state investments as countries' understanding of national security expands into economic activities. Congratulations to our client TotalEnergies for completing this signature transaction in Rwanda. Key highlights include: 1) The efficient cookstoves deployed by the project are expected to reduce harmful smoke emissions by 81% compared to traditional open fires and reduce wood consumption by 71%. 2) The project should also prevent the emission of more than 2.5 million tons of CO2 equivalent over the next ten years. 3) The carbon credits generated by the project will be certified initially by the international organization VERRA, pending their approval under Article 6.4 of the Paris Agreement Credit Mechanism as soon as the latter is operational. More information is available here: https://lnkd.in/eqtcJH-5. A special shout-out to the TotalEnergies team who worked on this, including Pascal Siegwart, Laurie Reboul and Alban de Villeneuve. Also, to the Latham team who helped with this, including Qingyi Pan and Tal Carmeli.
