Taylor-Ann Wright (Friesz) reacted on thisTaylor-Ann Wright (Friesz) reacted on thisBittersweet is probably the best way to describe this next chapter. At the end of this month, I’ll be stepping away from EOS Hospitality after an incredibly meaningful chapter. I’m grateful for the experiences, partnerships, and people who challenged me, trusted me, and helped shape the leader I’ve become. Over the years, I’ve had the opportunity to work across nearly every corner of hospitality technology and operations. From major system transitions and portfolio standardization efforts to reporting strategy, vendor negotiations, operational process design, and helping properties navigate the realities of rapidly changing technology, the work has never been boring. Not even close. What I’ve realized along the way is that my favorite work has always been solving complex problems, bringing clarity to chaos, and helping teams connect the dots between systems, operations, and financial performance in ways that actually work in the real world. So with equal parts excitement and healthy nervous energy, I’ll be launching Due North Hospitality. The focus will be hospitality consulting with a specialized lens on systems strategy, operational efficiency, reporting and analytics, platform evaluation, transitions, vendor optimization, and helping organizations make smarter technology decisions without losing sight of the operational side of the business. This has been a long time coming, and I’m excited for what’s ahead. Looking forward to reconnecting with many of you in this next chapter. If you’re working through technology challenges, evaluating platforms, planning transitions, or just need someone who understands the technical, financial and operational realities of hospitality, I’d love to connect. #HospitalityTechnology #Hospitality #HotelTechnology #HospitalityLeadership #DigitalTransformation #HotelOperations #HospitalityConsulting Due North Hospitality

For many resorts, the pressure begins months earlier. Visa uncertainty, limited housing availability, and early staffing gaps can quietly slow operations long before peak winter demand arrives. In our latest blog, we explore how resort leaders are navigating these challenges and why proactive planning is the difference between scrambling to fill roles and staying fully staffed when it matters most.

H-2B Update for FY 2026: What Hospitality Employers Should Know DHS announced 35,000 supplemental H-2B visas for FY 2026—helpful, but well below recent years. With demand likely outpacing supply, hospitality employers should expect tighter competition, possible lotteries, and added compliance hurdles. For seasonal operators, the takeaway is clear: plan earlier, diversify talent pipelines, and prepare contingencies to protect operations during peak demand. #HospitalityHR #ImmigrationUpdate #WorkforcePlanning #H2B #TalentStrategy

At first glance, the phrase “Unreasonable Hospitality” might sound…well, unreasonable. 🙂 After all, don’t we as leaders encourage balance, fairness, and reason in our decision-making? That’s precisely why Will Guidara’s book, Unreasonable Hospitality, has such impact. His story of taking Eleven Madison Park from a struggling restaurant to the best in the world wasn’t built on flawless service alone. It was built on the belief that service is transactional, but hospitality is transformational. Here’s the heart of it: being “unreasonable” isn’t about extravagance. More often, it’s the small, intentional gestures that make people feel truly seen, valued, and cared for. That is what creates the unforgettable moments guests carry with them long after they’ve left. But here’s the part that resonates most deeply for me as a leader: this philosophy doesn’t begin with external guests. It begins with our internal ones - our teams. Because without them, there are no guests to serve. Extending unreasonable hospitality to our people is not only the right thing to do, it’s the only way to create a culture where exceptional service can thrive. When our teams feel cared for, they naturally care for others. Our challenge - and our privilege - as leaders is to foster environments where this mindset isn’t an exception, but the expectation. Where going beyond the expected isn’t just noticed, it’s celebrated. Because when service is the standard, hospitality becomes the story - for our guests and our teams alike. And those stories are the ones that define us. 👉 How are you encouraging “unreasonable hospitality” in your own teams - both for your guests and your people? #Leadership #HospitalityExcellence #EmployeeEngagement #UnreasonableHospitality #CustomerExperience #ServiceCulture #TransformationalLeadership #GuestExperience #TeamCulture

Why the Front Office Answers Calls Within Three Rings** Anyone who has worked in hospitality knows the golden rule: Always answer the phone within three rings. It may sound simple, but this standard is deeply rooted in guest psychology and service excellence. 1) Time Signals Respect When a guest calls, they’re already waiting. A prompt response communicates a clear message: “Your time is important to us.” 2) Minimizes Guest Anxiety Guests often reach out when they’re uncertain, confused, or in need of quick guidance. Answering promptly helps ease concerns and prevents tension from building. 3) Maintains Operational Flow A delayed pickup increases the likelihood of repeat calls, escalations, or avoidable complaints. The three-ring standard keeps communication efficient and operations running smoothly. 4) Builds Trust Quietly Guests may not consciously notice swift service but they certainly notice slow service. Consistency in response time reinforces reliability and strengthens guest confidence. 5) Demonstrates Brand Discipline The Front Office is the hotel’s voice. Speed, professionalism, and clarity in each call reflect the brand’s commitment to service excellence. In hospitality, service isn’t just what you deliver it’s how quickly you show up to deliver it. Often, the guest experience begins with something as small yet meaningful as answering within the third ring.

BIG win for the travel trade and an even bigger one for travelers with accessible needs 🎉 A new study by Wheel the World names Galveston Island an Accessibility Verified Destination, with more than 50 hotels, attractions and restaurants verified across mobility, visual, hearing and cognitive needs. That’s more than any destination in Texas and across the entire Gulf Coast. Accessible travel is one of the fastest-growing segments out there and it’s built on trust. Travelers want to know what to expect before they book and the trade needs destinations that are clear, reliable and easy to sell. This kind of verification gives travel advisors, tour operators and wholesalers confidence that Galveston Island isn’t just welcoming, but it’s also truly bookable. For travelers, it means fewer question marks and more time enjoying the trip. From beach mobimats and ADA-friendly transportation to verified favorites like Moody Gardens®, San Luis Resort, Spa and Conference Center, The Tremont House, Hotel Lucine and Galveston Island State Park, the homework has already been done. When a destination commits at this level, everyone wins. Advisors sell with confidence, operators build stronger itineraries and travelers know they can explore without barriers. It’s smart travel planning and it’s the future! Visit Galveston Check out the full article from Houston Chronicle: https://lnkd.in/gKPsRuaU

🎯 Make Your Purpose Stick (Literally!) While filming at Tacky Jack's in Gulf Shores, I realized something simple but powerful: Sometimes leaders need to be a little… tacky. At this restaurant, customers write messages on colorful tape that sticks everywhere — walls, tables, even ceilings. It’s a fun, visual reminder that leaves a mark. And that’s what great leaders do. They make their purpose visible and memorable. 💡 Here’s how you can make your mission, vision, and values “tacky” (sticky): 1️⃣ Display them in work areas. 2️⃣ Discuss them regularly at meetings. 3️⃣ Incorporate them into training, recognition, and onboarding. If your employees can’t see or recall your organization’s purpose, it’s time to make it stick. 📍 Filmed at Tacky Jacks – Gulf Shores, AL #petespoints #peteblank #leadership #purpose #values #vision #organizationalculture #leadershipdevelopment #employeeengagement #tackyjacks #gulfshores #alabama #leaderswhocare #motivation

I’ve been thinking a lot about professional growth lately. The more I learn about my role and the hospitality industry, the more energized I become. Complexity no longer feels intimidating, it feels strategic. The deeper I understand the operational layers behind business development, catering logistics, forecasting, and client experience, the clearer the opportunities become. And I love a challenge and not because it’s easy, but because it demands precision, accountability, and composure. Executive presence isn’t about titles. It’s about consistency. It’s about decision-making under pressure. It’s about treating people well, especially when things are moving fast. The longer I’m in this industry, the more I realize that commanding respect doesn’t require volume. It requires steadiness, competence, and integrity. Growth seasons aren’t always comfortable. But they refine you in ways comfort never will. The more I learn, the more focused I become on building systems, strengthening partnerships, and leading with clarity. To me, challenge isn't chaos but handled well it becomes momentum. #mindset #growth #change #momentum

Throughout my career in hospitality, recruitment, and HR, one thing has consistently shaped me—leadership. I’ve experienced the full spectrum. Leaders who inspired, supported, and collaborated. And others who misused authority or cut corners. Both ends of that spectrum taught me something valuable. The great leaders showed me what’s possible—how clarity, trust, and empathy can bring out the best in people. The difficult ones taught me what to avoid—and, just as importantly, the kind of leader I never want to be. Those experiences have shaped how I lead today. I focus on listening, understanding, and showing up for my team—through the highs and the challenges. Because leadership isn’t just about direction; it’s about presence, consistency, and trust. It’s also made me clearer on what I need from my own leaders: transparency, support, and alignment—every single day. To fellow leaders: your impact goes far beyond performance metrics. You are shaping people’s experiences, confidence, and growth. To teams: your voice matters. The best environments are built when people feel heard, valued, and supported. Leadership is a responsibility—let’s treat it like one. #Leadership #PeopleFirst #HR #Recruitment #Hospitality #Teamwork #EmployeeExperience #LeadershipDevelopment #WorkplaceCulture #GrowthMindset #Management #Inspiration #CareerGrowth

Mentorship isn’t about asking for a favor; it’s about creating a connection that transforms your career. Fourteen months into my role as a Front Desk Supervisor, I felt invisible. I was performing well, yet promotions eluded me. The turning point? A single conversation with a Regional Director, which sparked a series of strategic discussions that catapulted me into management. Most people fail at finding mentors because they approach it all wrong. Instead of asking for mentorship outright, focus on building a genuine relationship. Start with value—not a request. Follow up, show your growth, and collaborate on meaningful projects. That’s how you earn advocacy from those in power. In just 11 months, I went from overlooked to a promoted manager with a 29% salary increase. It wasn’t luck; it was a strategy forged through four pivotal conversations. Ready to elevate your career? Dive into my latest blog to discover the full playbook on how mentorship can change everything. #Mentorship #CareerGrowth #Leadership #Networking #ProfessionalDevelopment 🔗 Read the full post: https://lnkd.in/dbPaGdnX

Most people see a classroom. I see a future General Manager. A future Director. A future industry leader. What happens in rooms like this doesn’t stay in the room. It scales. Today, we didn’t just cover Housekeeping. We connected operations to revenue, standards to brand protection, and detail to competitive advantage. This is what many still underestimate: Hospitality is not a service industry. It’s a performance industry. And performance is built long before the guest arrives. If you’re in this industry, remember: What you teach today drives someone else’s results tomorrow. That’s impact. #HospitalityLeadership #ExecutiveMindset #HousekeepingExcellence #HotelManagement #FutureLeaders #OperationalExcellence
