Viraj Phanse shared thisGreat hosting the TiE Mumbai US Tech Delegation at BGV and Arka Venture Labs. What stood out was the breadth of companies already building from India with global ambition. We met founders across enterprise AI, physical AI, healthcare, manufacturing, construction, aviation and climate. Several already have meaningful customers and deployments in India and are now looking at the US for their next phase of growth. The questions were remarkably consistent: How do we land the first few US enterprise customers? Who should be the first GTM hire? Which partners matter? When should we establish a US presence? How do we access the right capital and networks? This is exactly the opportunity we see at Arka. Our model is pull, not push. Not every Indian startup needs to come to the US. But when the market is here, we can help founders make that transition. One founder captured another important lesson. They initially tried selling an AI platform, but customers kept asking, “What does it do?” They learned to sell specific use cases first and the platform second. The same applies to entering a new market. Start with a real problem, prove value and expand from there. Thank you TiE Mumbai and all the founders for a great conversation. From India. For the world. Viraj Phanse shared thisI recently attended the Physical AI Summit by EAIGG: Enterprise AI Governance Group. My biggest takeaway: the technology is moving faster than enterprise deployment. The real opportunity may not be just in building smarter robots, but in making them easier, safer and more economical to deploy. System integration may be the GTM motion today, but it cannot remain the business model. Deployment #20 needs to be materially easier than deployment #2. I am increasingly looking at the deployment curve: Does human intervention decline? Does each deployment generate data that improves the system? Does customer payback get faster? In Physical AI, the best demo may get attention. Repeatable deployment will create durable value. Viraj Phanse shared thisAs part of our diligence on an applied robotics startup, I recently visited the warehouse and processing facility of one of the largest dosa batter manufacturers in the US. I met with the owner to understand how he was thinking about robotics and to see a real-world deployment firsthand. I asked him why he was looking at #humanoids, #robots and drones.His answer was interesting. In almost 50 years of living in the US, this is the first time he is seeing a real shortage of labor. It has become really hard to find people. He then listed almost 10 use cases where he could use automation today: remotely monitoring the warehouse, lifting and moving goods, loading and unloading, counting inventory, monitoring and automating pH levels, and more. For him, this is not about replacing people. Robots, automation and drones are becoming viable because there simply aren’t enough people to do some of these jobs. But I also saw an important gap. There were 2–3 people from the robotics startup at the facility working as forward deployed engineers: configuring the robots, preparing them for different tasks and making sure everything worked. That cost and effort ideally needs to trend toward zero. If every deployment requires multiple engineers on site for an extended period, the economics can quickly become more expensive than simply hiring people at the facility. It also makes it much harder to scale. For startups building in Physical AI and robotics, I think this will be an important part of getting to product market fit: how quickly can a customer go from receiving a robot to putting it to productive work? The winners will need to reduce time to value through better automation, easier configuration and increasingly autonomous deployment. The demand is clearly there. The labor gap is real. Now the challenge is making the economics work.

Viraj Phanse shared thisExcited to join the Qatar Science & Technology Park (QSTP) Fellowship Program. This one feels a little full circle. I was in Doha last year for Web Summit #Qatar 🇶🇦, meeting founders, investors and ecosystem builders from across the region. I left curious about what Qatar was building — particularly around technology, startups and venture. Now I get a chance to go a level deeper. Over the next four months, I’ll be working with the QSTP team on strategic projects focused on Qatar’s innovation ecosystem. One thing I’ve become increasingly interested in is what happens in the global startup ecosystems. What makes one ecosystem produce companies consistently while another doesn’t? How do universities, capital, corporations, government and talent come together? And what can emerging ecosystems learn from places like Silicon Valley without simply trying to replicate them? Qatar is an interesting place to explore those questions. Looking forward to learning from the people building the ecosystem, sharing some of my own experiences, and bringing those learnings back to the founders, students and communities I work with. I’m planning to visit Doha during the fellowship and would love to connect with founders, investors, and ecosystem builders across Qatar and the broader region. Earlier this year, I traded the corporate treadmill for a bit more breathing room and autonomy. Now, working independently, I have been rolling up my sleeves and applying my performance marketing expertise directly to growth challenges. And it feels like a full circle to see those same beta campaigns now driving performance as standard Meta features. Viraj Phanse liked thisViraj Phanse liked thisLast week, I had the pleasure of moderating an investor panel at BGV Physical AI Summit, joined by a thoughtful group of investors from Hitachi Ventures, Dell Technologies Capital, SE Ventures, and Samsung Next. The question at the center of our conversation was simple: as intelligence moves from software into machines that can perceive, reason, and act, where will durable venture-scale value actually accrue? My biggest takeaway is that Physical AI will reward much more than impressive technology. The strongest companies will need to move from demo to repeatable deployment, build a defensible data advantage, and deliver economics that work in the complexity of real industrial environments. A few ideas stood out. The technology curve is moving faster than the deployment curve, which makes the ability to scale reliably in the real world increasingly important. Data may also become a major source of defensibility, especially when deployments create proprietary learning loops that continuously improve the system. We also discussed where value may emerge across the stack, from models and simulation to robotics platforms, data infrastructure, and vertical applications, as well as why traditional SaaS metrics can miss important parts of the picture when hardware, integration, service, and working capital all shape the economics. Ultimately, customer payback may be the clearest test. Reliability, deployment time, human intervention, utilization, and throughput all matter because they determine whether a promising pilot can turn into a scaled production deployment. The assignment covered machine inspection, geometry checks and adjustments, fine-tuning of the machine and onboard devices, grinding trials, and comprehensive hands-on operator training. Training included programming and grinding of spur and helical gears, single-flank grinding, along with an overview of double-helical gear grinding and grinding from solid. It is always satisfying to see these highly capable Höfler machines restored to productive operation and to share our technical experience directly with the customer’s team. Suntech Gears Pvt. Abstract:This paper deals with the application of the Golden Rule and the Optimal Pricing Strategy to a software as a service (SaaS) product in the legal technology space to achieve profit maximization and maintain its monopoly. As shown in the paper, for attaining profit maximization and maintaining the monopoly, a firm can apply three strategies- The first one is to reduce the price of the product, the second one is to create a segmentation of products, and the third oneis to avoid a single optimal price to maximize profits. In addition to the above benefits, an Optimal pricing strategy and the Golden Rule can help firms create a high barrier to entry for competition.

This paper deals with the evaluation of the Duckworth Lewis method, identifying its limitation, and devising a modification to address these limitations. The Duckworth Lewis method, or D/L method, was created by Frank Duckworth and Tony Lewis. The International Cricket Council (ICC) adopted D/L method in 1999 to address the issue of delayed one-day cricket matches due to interruptions such as inclement weather conditions, poor light and floodlight failures, and crowd problems. The International Cricket Council (ICC) adopted D/L method in 1999 to address the issue of delayed one-day cricket matches due to interruptions such as inclement weather conditions, poor light and floodlight failures, and crowd problems. We have attempted to identify the shortcomings in the existing Duckworth Lewis method using data mining algorithms such as Random Forests and C4.5.
We have also shown that the p-values and other data mining techniques serve a dual purpose of not only evaluating whether systems such as D/L method have been exploited by taking advantage of their properties such as simplicity, but also devising alternate and robust approaches (or models).Other authorsSee publication
