Here’s how it went 👇 I recreated a classic dilemma in the Heubel household: The fridge is empty, and the mood to go Grocery shopping is somewhat muted after a long workday. Amazon NOW promises delivery in just under 30 minutes for a typical grocery top-up, plus everything I needed to make Pasta Bolognese: - Spaghetti - Canned tomatoes - Carrots - Minced beef - Lemons - Bananas - Yoghurt Giving us the chance to test the delivery experience of ambient, chilled and fresh products. Below I rate my experience across four segments: 𝗦𝗵𝗼𝗽𝗽𝗲𝗿 𝗘𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲: 𝟱/𝟱 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Amazon NOW sits right at the top of the Amazon app. No extra download. No additional sign-up required. Amazon already knows my address and payment details, which means the adoption barrier is extremely low. 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁 𝗦𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝟰/𝟱 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Despite ordering in the evening, almost everything was available. The only exception was yoghurt, where I had to buy two different brands because Amazon only had one unit left of each. Otherwise, the selection felt surprisingly similar to a Tesco Express or Sainsbury's Local. Amazon’s own-label products also featured heavily. My bananas, lemons and minced beef were all Amazon-branded. 𝗣𝗿𝗶𝗰𝗲𝘀: 𝟰/𝟱 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ No complaints here. Prices were competitive with typical supermarket prices, assuming we ignore Clubcard and similar loyalty offers. Amazon also clearly subsidises adoption: I received £5 off my first order, followed by further announced discounts on the next few orders. That effectively offsets the otherwise applicable £3.99 delivery fee while Amazon gets you used to the convenience. Once you are, Amazon bets you'll pay without thinking twice. 𝗗𝗲𝗹𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝗦𝗽𝗲𝗲𝗱: 𝟱/𝟱 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Amazon promised a 24-minute delivery; my doorbell rang after 15 (!). Considering I live outside Central London (Zone 4, to be precise), I was very surprised by the postcode coverage Amazon has built in such a short time. 𝗙𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗱𝗶𝗰𝘁 🔎🥑 Amazon NOW isn't just a Grocery play. The assortment already extends into household essentials, razor blades, batteries, electronics and gaming products. Try not to blink. Or you might miss how Amazon is setting a new delivery speed standard for the entire industry.

A variation of the workshop occurred again for parents during Parents' Weekend.
