Zahara Kassamali liked thisZahara Kassamali liked thisThis is a love letter to Apple. To Steve Jobs (may he R.I.P.) To Tim Cook and maybe the beginning of a love affair with John Ternus. This week Tim Cook stepped down as CEO of Apple after 15 years, handing the company to John Ternus. Next Week Tenus gets to make his mark with his first major keynote as CEO. I remember the last time Steve Jobs stepped on that stage, it felt almost impossible. How do you replace the founder behind one of the most admired brands in the world? If you remember the board tried once and failed miserably -> giving birth to NeXT which is the current Mac OS framework. We also had seen how succession could go wrong as did at Microsoft when it went from Bill Gates to Steve Ballmer. While Ballmer built an enormously profitable company, Microsoft spent much of that era missing or reacting late. - But I digress. Tim Cook answer the calling in his own way. He didn't recreate Steve Jobs. He took what Jobs had built and brought his decades of supply chain logistics experienced into the framework and global negotiations to work and scaled it to one of the most valuable and influential companies in the world and the most powerful ecosystems in business. Jobs gave Apple SOUL Cook proved that SOUL could scale and now we get to do this all again.... John Ternus inherits an Apple that is bigger, richer and more powerful than the one Cook inherited, but he inherits a company at another inflection point. AI is changing the interface, Hardware is changing, Computing is Changing. For the first time in a long time, Apple isn't obviously defining the next shift. Even I have considered switching out of my iPhone. So Next week, I'll be watching Ternus walk onto that stage, virtually front row, with the same curiosity I had when Cook took over. I don't hope for another Steve Jobs or Tim Cook. I want to see John Ternus' Apple. Because in my opinion that is the real test of an enduring company playing the infinite game. Not if it can survive the founder, whether it can keep reinventing itself through generations of leaders without losing the thing that made people fall in love with it in the first place. Steve built it. Tim scaled it. Now John gets to write the next chapter. And as someone who has had a love affair with Apple products, brand, marketing, design and obsession with experience for most of my life.... I'm rooting for him 🍎 Ciao for now

I want to thank the team whose persistence made this possible, the researchers whose decades of peer-reviewed ERP science it's built on, and the clinicians who believed objective brain function measurement belongs in everyday practice.
