Nebraska is investing $218.5 million a year in rural health through the Rural Health Transformation Program. Dr. Sydney Stein, State Epidemiologist at Nebraska DHHS, is part of that work, and helps coordinate the statewide chronic disease and obesity plan that fed into the state's RHT application. In a state where 88 of 93 counties are rural, the work started with two stakeholder forums that included public health officials, healthcare providers academic institutions, and community partners. In her own words: "I couldn't effectively manage all of those relationships through email." Her division procured Roundtable as RHT was ramping up. The Global NCD Compact 2020–2030 provides a clear direction for countries to accelerate the prevention and control of NCDs through whole-of-government and whole-of-society action. Five priorities stand out: 🔹 Engage — bring together government, academia, civil society, partners and people living with NCDs. 🔹 Accelerate — scale up proven interventions such as PEN, HEARTS, MPOWER, SAFER, SHAKE and ACTIVE, alongside stronger PHC. 🔹 Invest — ensure sustainable and predictable financing for NCD prevention and care. 🔹 Align — integrate NCDs into UHC, PHC, health security and emergency preparedness. 🔹 Account — strengthen surveillance, data and measurable indicators to track progress. For Pakistan, the message is clear: we need to move from fragmented interventions towards an integrated, prevention-focused NCDs response embedded within Primary Health Care, supported by sustainable financing, multisectoral action and strong accountability. The goal is not simply to treat NCDs but to prevent them, detect them earlier and reduce premature death and disability. Environmental Health Webinar Notice "Impacts of the Environment on Lung Health for Healthcare and Community Health Providers | Home, Work, Schools, and Communities"  September 3 at 1:00 - 2:30pm (ET) This webinar is intended to improve knowledge, skills, and abilities, and reduce gaps in clinical competencies among primary care, general practitioners, community health, and occupational and environmental health professionals in those areas.
