NFL Players Inc, the players union's licensing arm, put their own money into Cloaked's last raise. "We would like to have Cloaked available to all of our guys, because they have a real need for this type of product." That's roughly 2,000 active players and 15,000+ retired ones covered by Cloaked. Pro athletes deal with leaked contracts, doxxing, and identity theft more than most people ever will. Full story here: https://lnkd.in/gEQFfhdK

I spent most of my law enforcement career investigating complex, multi-jurisdictional crimes and relied on key evidence to advance cases forward in U.S. District Court. That experience is why this new case study on ShotSpotter & NIBIN: Lancaster's Playbook to Connect Gunfire resonates. ShotSpotter narrows a search from a several-block radius to just 82 feet — meaning officers recover evidence before it's lost. But precision location is only half the equation. Every shell casing entered into NIBIN links a shooting to a gun, and a gun to a pattern. In Lancaster's case, that discipline connected a firearm to a homicide 35 miles away, two years later. Read the case study 👉 https://lnkd.in/gw4C_3Fu #CrimeGunIntelligence #ShotSpotter #NIBIN #PublicSafety SoundThinking
ShotSpotter finds the scene. NIBIN finds the story. In Lancaster, SC, a gunfire alert is increasingly becoming the starting point for something bigger — faster response, more precise evidence recovery and connections between cases that might otherwise appear unrelated. In one incident, officers responding to a ShotSpotter alert located a man who had been shot seven times and applied two tourniquets before EMS arrived. In another, ballistic evidence recovered through Lancaster’s gunfire-response workflow helped connect a firearm to a two-year-old homicide more than 35 miles away. Part two of our Lancaster PD case study looks at how precise alert locations, evidence collection and NIBIN are helping the department build a more connected picture of gun violence — both within the city and across jurisdictional lines. 👉 Read the case study: https://lnkd.in/e4jZQM76

Sportsman's Guide has agreed to a class action settlement resolving allegations that the retailer improperly shared customers' firearm purchase data with third parties in violation of Pennsylvania privacy law. The settlement covers Pennsylvania residents who made qualifying purchases from Sportsman's Guide during a specific time period. If you're a Pennsylvania resident who purchased firearms or related products from Sportsman's Guide, you may be eligible to file a claim as part of this settlement. The deadline to submit a claim is October 5, 2026, so eligible consumers will want to act before that date passes. To find out whether you qualify, what information you'll need to file, and how the claims process works, the full details are available here: https://lnkd.in/eiUPyt9Y
