Great to see His Majesty visiting Hypanode in Aberdeen, Scotland, and delighted to be funding this strong team. We were honoured to meet His Majesty The King at Energy Transition Zone Ltd EnergyWorks yesterday as he marked the official opening of the facility. Hypanode is one of the first businesses based at EnergyWorks, where we are developing a new power system for aviation and moving the technology towards real-world demonstration and commercial scale. That work received a major boost last week with the announcement of a £9m contract through Advanced Research + Invention Agency (ARIA)’s Enduring Atmospheric Platforms programme. During the visit, our co-founder Ben Haberman, Head of Operations, Fiona Landy and myself showed His Majesty some of our work and explained why the depth of engineering expertise in Aberdeen was a major factor in our decision to build the business here. EnergyWorks gives us the space and support to develop the technology and take the next step towards market. Maarten Verbraeken and Duncan Nowicki, both off camera, made the beautiful components being shown to His Majesty. Thanks also to Gareth Bourne for helping bring in investment and to all the investors and other inspiring people who support our work!
Congratulations Gerry, it is good to see both the rising profile and new backing. Best wishes for smooth progression to the top technology readiness levels.
