Since arriving in San Francisco, I’ve been struck by how deeply creativity is woven into this city—from its art and music to its neighborhoods and the people imagining what comes next. For Gap Inc., that connection runs deep. We opened our first store here in 1969, and more than five decades later, San Francisco continues to inspire us. Today, we’re proud to announce our investment in the artists, makers and cultural institutions shaping the city’s future. Creativity brings people together, creates opportunity and helps communities thrive—and we want to help make more of it possible here in our hometown. About a decade ago, I pitched a bank to turn their banks with unused space partially into coworking, art, and community space as a benefit to customers to win back trust and give back. They said "No", but glad Gap is thinking similarly! I hope it works out and hope to see it.
