One of the things I feel luckiest about, working in AWS, is our incredibly deep bench of security builders. Our colleagues helped shape the internet as we know it, and have spent decades making it safer for everyone. Paul Vixie is one of those builders. He helped scale the DNS foundations the modern internet runs on, went to war with spam, and is now focused on securing the emerging era of agentic AI at AWS. I love the way Paul works backwards from customers, seeks out the world’s hardest security problems, and then rolls up his sleeves to build practical solutions that raise the bar for everyone. His story is a reminder that security isn’t about being the "office of no", it’s about enabling innovation. Paul Vixie is an incredibly authentic, genuine, kind, and wizened human. He's a legendary figure on the Internet and cherished colleague and friend to all who know him. I've been fortunate to be the beneficiary of his thoughtful remarks and wise counsel on more occasions than I probably deserve. Looking forward to future adventures with him :)

Paul once congratulated me on "building something bigger than myself." It was genuine, unprompted, and, to me, particularly meaningful coming from him. 🍻to finding some trouble, and getting into it.

Curious, brilliant, humble, and generous with his time regardless of your level. His words resonate deeply: "Follow your passion. You'll create opportunities through the stream of your experiences." That mindset is rare and contagious.
