Executives often explain a strategy differently than it appears in an offering document. They add context, tell stories, connect the data to real-world situations, and answer the questions advisors actually care about. That is executive thought leadership at its best: turning leadership’s expertise and perspective into clear ideas that advisors can understand, remember, and repeat. In this video, we take a closer look at how marketing teams can listen for those valuable insights and turn what leadership is already saying into stronger marketing content Dive into the world of alts marketing with our weekly blog posts. CEOs, founders, and executives! If you lead a company and aren’t sure whether your marketing team is contributing to revenue, you won’t find the answer in a bigger report or more oversight. Instead, ask these six questions. If every answer comes back in channel metrics like lead counts, impressions, clicks, followers, and open rates, that’s a red flag. It means your marketing team is fluent in their own campaign activity but disconnected from what the business actually needs to grow. A revenue-aligned marketing team can answer all six questions because they are deeply involved in pipeline, customers, and deals, not just content calendars and campaign dashboards. Use this as a gut check in your next marketing leadership meeting!

You want your marketing to work. You want people to understand what you offer. You want them to recognise the problem you solve. You want them to see the value. And ultimately, you want them to make a decision to buy. But you also want to market in a way that aligns with your values. You don't want to manipulate people. You don't want to manufacture insecurity. You don't want someone to feel pressured into a decision they wouldn't otherwise make. That creates a very real tension for values-led business owners: How do I market effectively without compromising the experience I want people to have with my business? That's a much more useful question than simply asking whether a marketing tactic is “ethical”. Because underneath it is a leadership question: What kind of experience am I creating while I influence someone's decision? #InclusiveBusinessLeadership #EthicalMarketing #BusinessLeadership

Most brand workshops are treated like copy exercises. They are really alignment exercises. At Buffers USA, I led a one hour interactive session to uncover how the leadership team understood the brand, the customer, and the future. That conversation became the positioning, voice, six content series, and a practical production system. When a brand feels inconsistent, content is often not the problem. Internal clarity is.

Traditional PR asks, “Is this newsworthy?” Anti-PR® asks, “Is this strategically useful?” A company can have plenty of news. A product launch. A new hire. A partnership. An award. But being newsworthy doesn't automatically make something valuable to the business. The better question is: What should this story actually accomplish? → Change how the market sees you? → Create a new conversation? → Strengthen your leadership position? → Open a door that matters? That’s the difference in thinking. Traditional PR can start with the question: “Can we get this covered?” Anti-PR® starts with: “Why does this need to exist in the market?” Because getting attention is an activity. Knowing what that attention is supposed to achieve is strategy. 👉 If you want your PR tied to a bigger business objective, book a call with my team. https://hubs.la/Q04y8FyW0 #TraditionalPR #AntiPR #PRStrategy #Leadership #BusinessGrowth
